Stand sprites. I haven't any rates yet but as long I can buy the games there is no problem.
I can do any style, tell me what you want and you get it.

I'd like an animation that's roughly 17 frames, in a CvS style. What should one expect to pay?
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money :P
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on July 24, 2014, 08:13:17 AM
Well my intention is to do easy commissions since the few games I want to buy are ~10 dls, and yes animations are included.
I'll go with this rates as a base: ~8 dls for stand sprites in standard styles (SvC/CvS) ~2 dls per frame in standard styles (SvC/CvS)
And depending of the complexity the price may vary.
But tell me in detail what you want so you can know how much it could cost. You can haggle why not.

You did the right thing posting this here, because I think no one (apart from me, even though I didn't comment) noticed you were going to take commissions in dA and you have a bigger "range" here.

...It is pretty weird because I can access using my modem but when I use another modem or another pc around the city the forum doesn't load but the other webpages load normally.
Ok, leaving that issue aside I still don't know what sprites you want.

I have one for you. I need Cody's Hammer Hook finished. SFA sprites. 8 frames total and I made a beta anim with crude outlines already for reference.
You'd have to fix the bottom 2 stripes on the pants part though, as Cody's suit is longer in SF4. All the otherstripes should be inline with the SFA sprite set. Let me know if you're interested.

I will send you a pm

@A$AP Buckus: There you go, 8 new frames and recycled some from Cody itself to make the move smoother
(http://i.imgur.com/DTs3EB4.gif)
@Mr.Silver: 1. You tell me what you want in what sprite-style. 2. According to what you want we set the price and you send the money to my paypal. 3. I do the sprites.
At this point Im going for cheaper prices since I want few money but my quality is top notch.

Yes Emugif is back! I have been dealing some commissions via pm and decided to implement a new rule:
-"If I feel I did your commission with some kind of delay in the delivery, I will do some extra frames for free".
It's kind of "suicidal" because college's being really heavy but I don't mind, spriting helps me to relax and I like it a lot. In fact I noted I have low rates being I can sprite any style.

Well I have been doing some small commissions since I started, editing moves, doing stances, etc. But I would like to post the most complete commission I have done so far, just click the spoilers.
It took me a month to complete, generally a NeoPocket char took me like 5 days so far but I was totally busy. Now I have time to even include some more commissions of anyone that is interested, pm me for details.
(I should start publishing regularly everthing I do, 8 months O.o)

I still haven't decided what would be a great hard crouching kick for Sailor Mars.
Should I go with Ingrid's, Rose"s or Seifuku Akiha's?
Or maybe a dodge move from either Morrigan or Hinako?
BTW, how is Nekorinnu doing?

Shwa & Koop: many many thanks I appreciate your comments.
Walt: well I feel I haven't evolved that much with NeoPockets and in work in general, but yeah I'm pushing myself to new styles, more modern styles (2008 to this era), not just SvC & CvS. About my posts you know I used to erase the texts but I let all of the spritework untouched.
Ahh yeah I checked the dates and I did Angel in 2 weeks from the point I received the payment, not a month like I was thinking.
Here's another one for rgveda, Nekonell from Sailor Moon with Bullet' from Blazblue' stance:
You can just get rid of that make up on her face as it limits her facial expression. We can sacrifice a few details here and there. The original spriters from Banpresto got rid of Tethys' spikes on her biceps. I advise also checking the enemy sprites how they sprited the hands. The hands are really one of the most difficult to sprite in this style.
Within a week I'll be pm'ing what you're gonna work on soon.

This one is for Ghost Killer and for SF3 Sagat project (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/street-fighter-iii-3rd-strike-sagat-w-i-p--160643.200.html#lastPost)
Outlining and shading the animation looks more fluid like if it was drawn by hand since the beginning, more than simply moving up and down the body. Just look at the legs.
And people keep asking me why I don't do a full SF3 char, like Juri, Oni or Rufus, it was mainly because I didn't have time but now that I'm relatively free I could do a fundraising or something like that to bring the best SF3 (or KoF XII or NeoPocket or SF Alphaor SvC.....) chars.
But I don't know who I should do or what you want, there is a lot of projects I have in mind.

Even MSPaint is a software. :P But yeah, what Chamat said. You don't need powerful softwares like Photoshop or Fireworks to make that. It all comes from experience.
Great work Chamat: finally the stance can be considered SF3-styled. Some feedback: - some abdominal lines are a bit jumpy during the animation, but just a bit; - on frame 1 the right pectoral (our left) isn't defined (with a dark line like in the other frames); nothing else.

For now let's work on another character Sailormercury. She needs a hard crouching punch and a roll.
At the very bottom would be Nekonell's walking animation using Yellow Iris as base. I only need 6 frames of walking animation. Also keep her polka dots on her cloths.. The fans would definitely notice somethings missing.
@rgveda99: Noted, I'll keep the dots for the dress, these are removable via palette though. Iris is a good base, if 6 frames aren't enough I wouldn't mind to include some more frames.

Here's my actual commissions rate, a lot of people have been asking for it, I hope you are ok with it since I always try my best to do quality sprites in different styles:
Can you make her thighs a little longer by at least 2 pixels. Her thighs look a little bit longer in the original standing sprite. There's also something about her skirt. It looks stationary though I think it might have something to do with the placement of the thighs.

Good eye @rgveda99: I did this "proportion" chart (?) with some references:
Lines: -Red: Head -White: Eyes -Green: Chest -Blue: Hip -Yellow: Crotch -Cyan: Knees -Black: Feet
References: (1, 3 & 4): Bent (2):Stand up straight
As you say X1 and Y don't match: Y' torso is shorter that's why her thighs are taller (blue line)
X1 & X2 torsos are based on Mars proportion. Some Mars feet in the references are out of the black line since the legs for those aren't bent like Nekonell's.
Y was based on Bullet as you wanted so it mismatches Mars' proportions.
The last one, N, is how I propose to fix her proportions where her skirt matches the other images.
It was impossible to find a size chart for Sailor Moon chars

Don't worry, it's ok to ask. It depends mostly of the style, and what I have to do in terms of spriting: simply shading, style conversion, outlining, animating, doing brand new frames, etc... you have to give me more info. Also, even if you give me the keyframes if I have to do my own base (that means that I can't directly sprite on what you give me) it will count as doing a brand new frame.
Here is my rate chart:

You don't need me to tell you this, but you've done a great job! Some things I noticed are: - the white stripes on his right forearm (our left) tend to become little; - the left pant (our right) doesn't follow the leg in all frames, it moves half the times the legs move... I'm sorry if you don't understand.
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money :P
Post by: DanteFeline on August 15, 2015, 06:14:32 PM
@Alex Sinigaglia
With the leg issue, to an extent that's entirely reasonable. Something that a lot of animators tend to forget is that there's some room for the leg to move inside of those shorts. His leg would move forward onto the fabric and press against it before the rest of the shorts would follow (as it's doing. Very subtle, but very realistic) Many other animators who draw short sleeves on shirts, or shorts tend to keep the arm or leg centered in the very middle of the opening of the fabric, which is very unrealistic.
I think it's more of an attention to detail thing rather than an error.

(In fact you reminded me about a walking tutorial I did long ago: [here it is if you want to read it (the last spoiler)] (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/tutorials-how-use-mspaint-animation-tips-141433.0.html))
The "beat'em up" walking has the advantage that the torsos can be recycled and the legs can be extracted one from the other. What I mean is that I would have to 'create' half of the animation and edit the rest, 4 & 4 frames.
[My rates] (http://chamat.deviantart.com/journal/Open-for-Sprite-Commissions-Rates-532372859) and check for CvS style if that's what you want.
I'll send you a pm.
@G.o.D.: & @Raptorkou: Yes I noted that when I was shading the frames. That part looks more like duplicated that a proper in-between frame, I was going to edit it but then I remembered that in-game he moves so that detail is not going to be that obvious.

No problem about that. About Chun Li, wouldn't it be better to reference her walk animation (from the intro) from SFIII/CFJ? (http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u402/GodofDeath94/ChunLi_SFIII_Intro_Walk.gif)

Hey thanks, totally forgot that 12 frames animation. I'm not visiting zweifuss and emugif as I used to.
(I don't know why photobucket adds that "~original" suffix to the extention, I have to change it everytime if I want to open a file)

I don't know either, but at least you know it's the original, full-size file, perhaps that's why. But I'll try to change it the next times I show some images with photobucket.

That's exactly what I was talking about: see that her head in CvS is more tilted down, because her body is also tilted more than in your conversion? That must be the reason Felo said something about the neck (and I agree with it).
For Ryu you could reference this spritesheet ripped by Omega:

Post by: FeLo_Llop on September 06, 2015, 12:09:15 PM
What I was talking about her neck, appears in the"bit of process", the SF3 sprite. Seethere you got a neck and in the cvs conversion, head gets closer to her shoulders...
Quiero decir que tiene la cabeza muy cerca de los hombros, lo cual da la impresión de no tener cuello...
Aside that, it's an awesome conversion.

Well you didn't explain much and in fact I thought you didn't know what you were talking about in the way you wrote it (and believed you were someone else because you changed your nick)
Now that you explained yourself I used the head from the stance and gave her a larger neck:
(It would be a good idea in this case to tilt his head, you know to fit MOTM's Evil Ryu)

Ryu: - his hair and headband bounce a little too much for the movement he's doing (in my opinion); - talking about his heaband, it's more on his left shoulder than behind his nape; - like for Chun Li, his head is too tilted down, I think he should look straight forward (like Guy); but I can accept it if it is for Evil Ryu; - I have a feeling there's something wrong about the pants' shading, they're shaded like his knees are... "twisted"? They have a different perspective, that's what I mean; - his back leg (his left leg) shouldn't get light when it goes to the left; - the feet shading should change with the motion.

Fixed, I just did the right leg loop and used it for the another. Hey that's the general process.
Something like when the foot is darker when goes left and brighter when goes right? right? Well I don't think that that detail worths that much to be honest.
Yes I am, (silly me I sent the pm to myself) but I'll publish it here anyways.
As I see you have the sheet and the poses already selected.
The Monsters of the Day will have the special cheap price rate I set for you since these are from Sailor Moon, but Dark Necrofear since it is from YugiOh would be with my actual prices depending the style. I suppose you don't want to add the mannequin she holds because the pose you selected, to be honest I like the actual pose from YugiOh more.

It is a great animation although there's still the problem Alex said. IMO you should check the gi lightsource(chest) and the legs lightsource. They are different. It looks like the feet are going forward but the legs(thighs and quadriceps) are going to the screen(looking to the right side in this case)

Dark Necrofear will be the same Sailormoon arcade style. They will be 2 sets of sprites for her but will work on the no mangled doll version first. The mannequin will be added in the future. You can just use the anime pose if that's what you are comfortable with.

What I think they are tryinig to say is... --parece que la rodilla esta hacia adelante, viendo hacia nosotros por la sombra de la pierna izquierda de Ryu-- not sure how to translate it, but knee looks broken, like if it's in a different direction not in front of Ryu, adding a few pixels (shadow) to the right should fix that detail

Well I'm in Colombia we aren't an inmediate Chile's neighbour, the risk although was in the coast city where my Mom's from. Luckily nothing happened.
Yes several people said that the joining requests for Art-Of-Spriting are closed, I don't know how to change that, neither if Nino wants lo leave it as that.
But I'm a co-founder there, I can invite you.
About the logos, well the older one looked like a Dan Hibiki' fanclub to be honest, I like Dan but not that much. The Hadouken is more neutral, I'll admit it fits for a SF2 fanclub but come on a group where there are like 100 sprites for Ryu and several others for characters from SF, KoF or any fighting game, it fits too. Something more than just Dan.
(My friends from Graphic Design will kill me for the Hadouken idea although)
And I did a game and I'm going to give prizes. I'll do a "standard sprite" from my rates to the second and third persons that beat it (with proof), MotorRoach was the first one and will have a "complex sprite" as a reward.

Also use the software you think fits better with you, I used MSPaint when I was a kid to do houses and simple landscapes but I was getting to know all of its potential the more I used it. I'm not sure how popular it is, but the more I see it, the more I want to buy a Neo Geo Pocket.
The console? or a full char?
Well there is a game in development called Pocket Rumble (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cardboardrobotgames/pocket-rumble-new-2d-fighting-game-for-pc-and-hand?lang=es). I'm not really fond of their sprites because I can see their bases from a mile away, but hey that's what they can do and they got a lot of backers. (relatively talking what they received in crowdfunding is nothing compared to all the months taken in process and the ammount of members... well at least for me, doing simple math) But it's cool to know there are still people that want this style of games.
In fact Seizui shown me that his OC Keith was going to appear in their game, I saw the Pocket Rumble version and I said "It looks different to your design. Hey I can do something better than that in no time". He paid 60 usd, completed the Fighters Characters Template (http://fav.me/d9a06ou) and sent me a folder with the reference gifs. The spriting process took me just 2 days, record time, since NeoPockets take me from 3-5 days. And here we are. In total there were like 2 weeks in process because my commission list and the holidays.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
In fact of the fact, I did the NeoPocket version just as a "sketch" since we plan to do Keith and other OCs in a better graphic style, I won't get into details at the moment. :-X
@Xenomic: Well I'm open to do more of their sprites as commissions. :P

Just one question I have, do you choose your CPS3 colors from pre-existing characters, or do you mess around with palettes on whatever program you use?
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money :P
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on January 23, 2016, 12:52:54 AM
I'm terrible doing palettes, I choose them depending of the style.
This time I was going to browse zweifuss.ca (http://www.zweifuss.ca) but it's down so this time I visited sf palettes (http://www.zytor.com/~johannax/jigsaw/sf/). I could have visited The Fighters Generation (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters.html) but not all of the chars there have the different palettes.
So yes, I base from an original palette and create 1 or 2 tones if it's necessary. I create a tone making lighter or darker an actual color. Some times I adjust the RGB color values to a multiple of 8=(8,16,32,56,64,128,248...)

Post by: hatter on January 23, 2016, 12:54:47 AM
That's a very interesting read, I'm currently experimenting on coloring on the current CPS3 requests I'm doing, so the whole adjusting values to the multiple 8 sounds nice. I might give it a try, thanks man. :)

If this helps you for when making palettes in SF3 style, here's an image of what I do:
This is an image showing a some palettes I've done for a couple of SF3 sprites, the breakdown is more or less like this:
I always change the hue (red->pink, green->cyan, blue->purple, etc) as the shades go darker. The Outline colors are usually for the Light colors, though some times they can be used for Shadow colors depending on how dark they are. The Outline colors are usually very saturated, too. For the Shadow colors I make a less saturated and colder selection of colors than the Light ones. The brightest Shadow shade has almost the same amount of brightness (numerically speaking, whether a bit darker or lighter) as the darkest Light shade on the specific part of the character.
Hope this helps if you have trouble with making original palettes, I know it can be hard some times depending due to things like amount of colors, detail, etc.

Nah it's ok, I usually take skin colors from official palettes and modify them when finishing a sprite, I can understand having trouble with palettes overall. Didn't know about the slightly daltonic bit though... but eh I was just trying to help :mtongue: . For what it's worth the colors in your sprites still look pretty good and consistent.

I will!
Yes I had the same impression but compared to her stance she is quite big when she extends her legs, I'm aware that the ones I did have the legs open with a different angle:
When I was starting, the sprites I did were smaller, but since I'm reusing some of her transitional frames for the animation (2nd and 3rd ones from the sheet) she looked squished (stance) then big (transition frames) and once again squashed (my first version) and that didn't look good in my opinion.
So that's why.

I guess her legs make it look that way... how about something a bit more like this? your edit (http://i.imgur.com/uRtiDd3.png) my fixes on it (http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae215/nioexe/chamat%20nio%20fix_zpsuujhtqcw.png)
I'm not Mr.Accurate but I guess it works or it could help you to see what I mean
EDIT: added a few more pixels... I found your lack of boobs disturbing! :P
added a boob, made little touches to the sprite... use it as feedback, use mine to edit if you want or ignore x) (http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae215/nioexe/chamat%20nio%20fix2_zpsupoj4wmr.png)

Yisssssss! It was only a matter of time! :D
...although, is it just me, or is the back leg (viewer's left) higher than the front one (viewer's right)? Shouldn't be it be the other way around, to match the perspective of the other sprites? Just something I noticed that was bugging me a bit.
Anywho, amazing sprite work, and the edits NiO made are just as good! Hope to see more sprite work from you!

Ok I updated the gif, how could I forget the boob and the left tail hair:
Well yeah I didn't change the feet axis, I think it looks ok since booth feet keep the same line as the stance's (right closer to the viewer; left far from the viewer).

Omega an Oc from Finding-My-Freedom (http://finding-my-freedom.deviantart.com/) in Bleach style (http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/bleachds4th/)
(Now that I see it he should look back but is just adding the turning frame)
BTW I will alternate a day for spriting and the next one for studying japanese and so on. (If someone could recommend me books, forums, people, etc. I will greatly appreciate it.)

Some feedback, if you're interested:
He's almost the same height after changing into that pose. His leg is extended, so the difference in height should be more significant (maybe use one of his other sprites as reference for what his height is when standing up straight?). Right now he seems to get shorter when he moves into the pose
His hair seems to pop forward in the last frame instead of it being a smooth transition. His foreground leg also bends forward before straightening out. Maybe that's just some artistic license on your part.
You've already mentioned that he should turn before going into that pose but I don't think it's as easy as adding the turning sprites beforehand. It's supposed to be a smooth motion of him showing disappointment (or something along those lines) as he turns and not a stop --> turn --> pose thing. His wristband is also in the wrong hand for this.
I would move the arm in the background a bit more backwards at the end, for stylistic reasons. Right now it's way too hidden behind his torso
The shading appears to be spot on. I'm just not sure if the animation itself is quite right.
EDIT: It's the end of his ultra move in SFV btw, in case you were still wondering:

Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on June 04, 2016, 06:12:52 AM
Not yet, but yeah that's the intention.
Unluckily I don't work with color separated sprites, In fact I had to create a new palette in order to be able to use Infinite's references. Hmm no, I don't do CS since I'm quite daltonic, hell, even doing a simple palette is a pain in the ass. Plus it turns to be messy in my opinion.
Now that I'm posting, I forgot to publish these ones here:

Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on June 24, 2016, 11:22:48 AM
lol thanks(?)
@T. Vinceson: Received. I guess how it's supposed to get the axis: starting from the upper left for each sprite if I'm not wrong (if not, I have no idea):
(http://i.imgur.com/8lP2sHe.gif) Anyway I added the axis and doubled the times so you can see the numbers, it's lacking the cats ears' definition and the different belly shading as Jesuszilla did.
Updated R.O.B.'s animation with more taunts, the movement is inversed btw:
And if you want to do more moves here's the sheet with the parts, so @J.A.N.G.O.: here you go:
Yes, the 4 commissions I have left require more moves (all CAPCOM themed: 2 SF3 and 2 SFA) and of course the courtesy extra sprites for the ones that purchased sprites before my trip.
I haven't been receiving more commissions mostly due some personal projects.

I want to share with Vinceson and Chamat a video I recently completed. This is an example of how Felicia's guard drop animation would appear in game. The recommended alignments might be slightly off, but for the purpose of this demonstration, I felt it was more important to showcase its application. Thanks to Vinceson for granting me permission to use the frames for this video.
I haven't been receiving more commissions mostly due some personal projects.
Luckily this week I finished one of my personal projects, just to let know the commissioners that are waiting. And since today is Shoma's appreciation day, I bring you a CPS2 styled animated stance with his Home Run super:
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money
Post by: no1wammy on July 21, 2016, 05:07:30 AM
If you're talking about the video I made, I did it all in hand. Adobe Photoshop to get the frames right (supposedly, the max it can handle is 198 frames or so), then I converted the GIF to an OGG video using Cloud Convert.
In terms of game engine, I absolutely have no idea where I want to go with Marvel & Capcom vs. Pokemon. At first, I considered MUGEN just to see how the coding works, but part of me wants to look into a ground-up alternative.

Thank you guys, I usually don't like to reply to my topic unless I have something to show, but here it goes:
@no1wammy: Ohh yes I have done the same for some projects, took some time to set all the axis and palettes and all. I haven't done a long animation gif in years I recall I started doing some because I liked the ones from [emugif] (http://www.emugif.com/) but these long animations aren't aviable now in their site.
@MotorRoach: Thank you, I try my best to copycat all of the styles. But I have to admit that both animations are retraced from rips.
@Koopa901: Thank you but the commission was to do just those 2 moves :/ :P
@Enso: Thank you for your kind words, glad you loved it!

(I blame deviantart for forcing me to do 150x150 px preview images, so I used imgur that ruins the filenames, great!)
Yep, 2 commissions left. I'm unsure about receiving more except if those are short term commissions, simplier and quicker.

@Chamat: like I said before, the spritework is great, but I just remembered about the scale of the sprites. Look at the one that rotates, did you scale it correctly or did you just rotate it? (I haven't checked yet) The SFA/MvC sprites are usually large and not very tall. Look at Ryu's falling frames: you will notice that when he's going up is body is short, while he's laying on ground his body is longer.

Title: SF3-Sagat Blocking
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on August 24, 2016, 06:47:11 PM
Thank you guys.
Here are some Sagat sprites, as always for @ゴーストキラー: Though crouch and air guard could share the same torso I shaded them completely different:
About hdbz a lot people has been asking me the same. To be honest the main reason I worked for them was because DBZ was lacking good sprites, that, until DBZ:EB came out. I played the game and is everything I hoped for and even more (yay A18+Broooooly!)... when it comes to hdbz I can't even play it, I can't even play as Freezer or anyone else without getting frustrated so I don't see the point of participating. (git gud)
I'm not bad at fighting games, I'm casual. :P
As JNP said, I was shading [Teen Gohan sheet] (http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.1979407) I stopped it becuase the spritestyle itself keeps evolving, it turns the spriting into something subjective more than objective getting older over time, an issue if you are copying a style. To be honest it's uncertain as when I finished Freezer.
I want to thank JNP for his time and for confirming he's going to include the editions I did, thanks.
... I could finish my version of Teen Gohan' sheet as a commission (Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money babeeeehh :D). I could complete the remaining sprites charging per frame, you know for just shading 100~ sprites, no new frames except for the stance's animation. It would be in the future since I don't have any price for them yet.
Depends if you people like the idea.
Ok back to the commissions, the list is almost finished, both private and I can't post them so the topic is going to be unactive.
I want to open few slots for new clients and I will have to raise the prices, hope you guys understand.

Title: BACK AGAIN! SPRITE COMMISSIONS. LIMITED MONEY TOP
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on August 30, 2016, 09:59:57 PM
Ok as I wrote on my dA journal here's the important stuff: *I will be accepting new commissions. The money top accepted in the following 30 days will be 300 usd, summing all of the commissions of course.
So hop in before someone else fills the top!
The more relevant notes on dA said:
0. Yo puedo hablar español. 2. I can do any sprite style you want, all I need are the references. 3. I can animate stances or whatever you want. 6. I don't work with color separated palettes. 7. I don't like to do "any"-swap or totally simple editions. 8. I don't edit templates or bases. (Example: RPG Maker templates)
b. At the moment I'm not available for full-char or large projects (I'm just open for NGPC full chars) x. I can sprite NSFW stuff, no one has asked this before, but just to let you know.
Send me a pm if you are interested.
[FULL CHART OF PRICES] (http://i.imgur.com/h0UIwmn.png) (http://fav.me/d8syliz)
Aaaand I raised the prices, after all of the promotions and my hiatus, I had to.
I'm testing if the 300 usd limit will be appropiate in those time limits: accepting and delivering. Spriting takes time and even more if you handle a lot of styles.
As for [Teen Gohan sheet] (http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.1979407) I think 7 usd for properly shading each uncomplete sprite is ok. You can pm me for that too.

@adriano gt: I just gave it a try, mine is the 3rd, it's rushed so there aren't good details:
It's a model from [The Models Resource] (http://www.models-resource.com/search/?q=mortal+kombat) and since it was an .obj I asked a friend to place it on 3dsMax. Here's what I got:
The thing is to rig it, my friend did the solid to render it using 3dsMax in the college. Since I don't own the software the ways to make it work would be buying it, asking for favors to whoever has it or going myself to the college to use it.
Plus I don't know how much I should ask for rigging and animating in 3D.
I can imitate it yeah, but I can't do more than few things. If you ask for few frames we can make it work. (I haven't rigged in yeeears)

If you want a quick and dirty way to rig a model you can use this https://www.mixamo.com/auto-rigger The issue is that animations are preset and I don't remember very well how the skinning and weight distribution works since I haven't used it in a while but hey, it's either that or get the program and learn how to rig.

These ones are for @Shockdingo: just the silhouettes for public display, if you want to know who he is follow Shockdingo's next projects:

(I know but I can't say, just that is from a fighting game)

Run. (http://i.imgur.com/DpvnVgZ.gif)
*I could publish the document we have, except if Shockdingo wants to do it himself.
This one is for @Thagr8test: a simple and change of style ('MvC'->Marvel Super Heroes) for Dr Strange:

Ok, so about the money top we discussed I could move the dates, it depends, I'll try to keep you updated. Have been handling everything via pm so I'm active.
I'm still accepting commissions of course!
And the last secret project is similar to one going on in the forum, so we will see.

(don't mind this feedback if it's a trait of the character) From the silhouette he looks very stiff, the general weight of the character isn't showing in the run cycle. His body isn't bent forward, during the run the arms should generally move more upward, instead they stop there.

Or get xnalara, get the model that has already been rigged, all MK characters have been done already and manually pose the model for each frame. I think Coop did something like that for Kotal Kahn.

Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on October 11, 2016, 12:24:11 PM
No he isn't Leonhalt Domador, ShadowAOD did him already (http://fav.me/d9lii0s) and you can see he has different details. Being stiff is a trait of that char, kinda, or maybe not...who knows? I think I animated it wrong...
...or did I? O.o
New animation, here's Yang Ultra 1 from SF4, this one is for @ReixSeiryu: here you go:
The ones I did are without the green CS, the ones with the classic palette, 24 frames. There are still some Yun CvS sprites and one SF3' Yang, I bet you can spot them.
Ohh yeah I forgot to say here that the money limit was reached and I'm not receiving more commissions in the near future, just focusing in the ones I have. This one I just delivered was the heaviest one so it shouldn't take long until I finish the others and to be open again soon.
About the subtopic of 3d models going on here I finally decided to go back to the college and use 3dsmax there to model and rig a body just to learn more anatomy, but I won't be open for that kind of commissions, just to let you know.

I don't know, you tell me. :P
Nice Ultra sprites, I think some of the colour separated ones could use a fix (since, you know, some of those are Cvsnb's and you know how they look :\ ) and frames 31-32 could have some shadow on the pants.

I am too hype.. I am going to have so much fun with this!! I was hoping to finish Seiei Enbu in time, but I failed :/. Who originally cs'd these sprites again? Would they be willing to do it is another question. Also I can work with this, the move is so fast you won't even notice those minor details, but if you do change it let me know.

This one is for @J.A.N.G.O.: here you can read more about [Chaugnar Faughn Bio] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Great_Old_Ones). The sprite is in Warzard style. Hope you like it.

Yeah I forgot to say that I talked later with ReixSeiryu via pm, I mention this so in that way no one should think I don't reply. :P
And Ngbigdi (http://ndbigdi.deviantart.com/) on deviantart is making perler sprites out of the NGPC portraits i did:

Already PM'ed you when you showed me the WIP but I have to post here that the final result is mind-blowingly good. There are lots of takes on the character since it was never really officially illustrated by anyone, but I love how your take is simple enough to be recognizable and memorable, yet with enough intricacies to show his power/fearfulness.
Very awesome and goddammit another one I want to see as a character now :P

I always wanted to ask this, more for curiosity [and maybe for a future work]
You can make Spin-Dizzy animations based on MvC games? Like for example... Two back frames for certain Darkstalkers characters[Jedah for example]? If yes, how much that can cost?
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money
Post by: no1wammy on October 25, 2016, 05:33:19 AM
Spin dizzies are when, after they take enough hits, the fighter spirals into the air and crashes before going into their dizzy animation, am I right? Aren't those also used for the Spinning Piledriver animations when subdued by Zangief?
Title: Re: Will s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶ sprite for money
Post by: ShinZankuro on October 25, 2016, 05:42:18 AM
Yup. Upside and Downside. Not needing to be full animations, but more two or even one back sprite for certain characters who doens't have it, and the other frames I can handle with some "HV" things on Fighter Factory.

I edited this one, just edited 1 frame and it has 4 frames, 2 and 2:

Exactly!
It's Jedah from Vampire Savior :)
EDIT: [Actually he has a front animation who could be used well for the front animations of the dizzy spins, this means he potentially need only one sprite of his back]
Thanks for the answer :D

Made an exception this time, I woke up with a different attitude. :) a freebie.
It has 6 frames, 1 of them is from the normal Dizzy state. The animation still needs come cleansing for the 2 frames i edited but I think it works.

This one?
No I didn't, in fact I rarely do frankensprites and consider them finished. I generally do them but just a step and then I trace them over and shade.
I can say the torso is the smoothest part in that animation, in general the smoothness isn't one of a SF3 char and there are some details that change abruptly like the ponytail and the suspenders.

Title: CvS-Minnie May
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on February 26, 2017, 10:03:51 AM
Thank you guys. @Graphicus: I didn't create any effect as if, I edited them, I took that Raging Storm from [Geese Howard, Fatal Fury F-Contact] (http://spritedatabase.net/file/5258) The other version is more distinctive to Geese, with the claw slashes (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters/geese-a6.html). I think the one I stole fits. :P
The sprites I did aren't finished if you want to do them here's the palette I did for Borewood's Oni. It reduces heavily the colors and allows you to edit them as SF3 sprites:
http://sta.sh/0em0fvqm84k
The main scale is 47*40. It depends, not all of Borewood's rips have the same scale.
*The idea would be to check Borewood's version and match their poses and times. Best way to do it is to replace SF3 Gouki's gifs with the scaled ones from Oni. Oni is a bit bigger than Gouki. Also to copy Gouki's belts to Oni, you duplicate it to make them wider.
This other palette is for when you have scaled the sprites and added the belt from Gouki, you render the gif and it appears with this custom palette adding the brown colors from the belt:

I recall Ghost Killer working on Oni, maybe you could join forces together.
Oni is actually a project I've been commissioning animations for from Chamat for a few months now. I've also been doing spritework here and there for the character alongside that. Not just him but Sagat as well, I often switch focus from one to the other.
Progress has been pretty slow so not that much has been made since Chamat did all those incomplete animations, lol. I've just been slowly chipping away the spriteset.
Title: [BRUTAL BRAWL]
Post by: │ㄷ ▌ on July 13, 2017, 06:30:00 PM
Thing is I uploaded a series which people in dA liked. I created that last year and just uploaded it recently because I thought noone would like it.
It contains Ryona and some muscled girls, I aim to add more body types to challenge myself and to embrace diversity why not, so if muscled girls aren't your thing there are also regular and slim bodies too:
I don't aim to add explicit content atm, most likely just Ryona by now.
Now talking about the sprite style I aimed for something easy to do, with basically just 2 tones per color, a paradise for a color separator and paletters I believe, I hope. With a scale that's bigger than the standard to have a good ammount of details but not so big which would consume a lot of time. The images are traced from some 3D custom models I did by my own.
My OC HorseKick, which I don't have to explain from who I got "inspired", yeah inspired: (http://orig12.deviantart.net/d5f3/f/2017/186/7/e/_brutal_brawl__horsekick_by_chamat-dbdgmnl.png)
My OC Z'Colosa, The Muscled Colossus: (http://orig03.deviantart.net/bef4/f/2017/186/1/2/_brutal_brawl__z_colosa_by_chamat-dbdgmrr.png)
And Mae Oc from szzickra (http://szzickra.deviantart.com/) who commissioned me to sprite her: (http://orig08.deviantart.net/b584/f/2017/192/8/2/_brutal_brawl__mae_by_chamat-dbfvzv7.png)
I will use Mae Slim body type to create a new OC, I have some ideas. The next body type if you wonder is a Bimbo, requested via PM on dA.
Forgot to mention that the palettes I did easily allow nudity I just defined the nipples but as I said nothing explicit. Ohh yeah and some facial bruises that would appear via palette too.
Ohh yeah and thanks to this series I got noticed by some artists I follow, so I'm really really happy for that and now more people visit my dA too.
I was focusing the last months in creating a book to learn Kanjis, the progress was good and steady until I published the series above and got a lot of commissions, not a bad thing I mean these are always good. But if you commissioned me you should know in what I invest my time, I have some personal projects too.
But this whole thing may change the things what I want to do as a spriter. I'm just tired of doing things from Capcom/Snk. I still could do things themed like that, like your OCs or things that you convince me to do, but not full chars. I mean I don't even play Mugen and barely emulate arcade games nowadays.
:)

Here are some useful sheets: Development Sheet: (http://orig04.deviantart.net/6dc0/f/2017/192/0/7/onii47x40_by_chamat-dbg05ld.jpg)
Not that useful if it's in jpeg. Or is it just to be looked at? :P
Also, that stance should be remade from scratch, shifting place left and right/up and down is bad. I know you didn't make it, but it's the first thing I thought when I saw it for the first time (some years ago) and I wanted to say it.

Just kidding, stupid deviantart turned them into .jpgs:

That stance needs some revamping, it's true, but not that extreme like being remade from scratch. It can be used as a base, I would retrace it to make it look smoother and hand-drawn.
