This way is more engaging. And it's a very small way to not only display to the author/peers who you voted for. But it's a small nudge to get others to do the same thing. Which can be looked at as a bad thing I suppose. But if it really seemed to persuade too powerfully we'd just lock the topic and make it vote only.

I do see where you are coming from with that though.
