Jurassic World
pretty good, a nice revival of the franchise. The writing was serviceable but really, really cheesy, though.

the one major sore spot I had with it was the sequence where the uh... flying dinosarus (pteranodons? I don't know dinosaurs guys) attack the main area of the theme park, where all the civilians are gathered, and there are pretty massive casualties. It just felt really weird and out of place, sort of against the spirit of the franchise, I guess? Or am I just saying that it's OK for people to be horribly murdered by dinosaurs if they're employed by the park? Look I dunno it was just kinda uncomfortable and depressing, and it's capped off with the really brutal and violent death of Zara, the personal assistant; her death is just so long and drawn out that it almost felt kinda sadistic, almost? I dunno it was just really depressing and brutal, in a way none of the other horrible deaths other characters suffer throughout the movie.
also, I gotta say, this is a movie where a touching emotional connection between Chris Pratt and a velociraptor is interrupted when the raptor is exploded by a rocket launcher, so you know, it's pretty much a must-see movie
