The only reason I can think of is because it appeals to many of the fans of The Hunger Games... and that's all I can think of.

No? OK fine because people hunger for another serialized genre show like Lost, and it follows a predictable cycle. First it premieres well, then they drag out the central mystery and don't offer any answers to some question or even good character moments (which is how Lost sustained itself). That causes people to lose interest and stop watching. And then the show gets canceled and never answers the questions it raised. Wash, rinse, and repeat.

It seems to be getting bad to mediocre reviews, so yeah, it's not very good. But hey, it could be worse, it could be The New Normal!

Yea, he's one of the writers responsible for completely flipping the Marvel world inside out.

I wasn't crazy at all about Ultimate Avengers and The Civil War series sucked hard.
It was demoralizing and painful to read as a whole.  I hoped for it to get better as the series continued but it only did the opposite.
At least Mark has nothing to do with the horrid X-men Vs. Avengers series which ironically, follows a similar path as the Civil War story.

Yeah it's not very good. The art is nice but making Cap a horrible racist caricature is the worst idea ever. And all the characters are unlikable douches and everything is made XTREME: Hulk eats people! Hank Pym doesn't just accidentally hit his wife once, he abuses her and then LITERALLY TRIES TO KILL HER. WITH BUG SPRAY (and ants)! Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are totally banging (although I guess it was still ambiguous until Loeb made it explicit because Loeb is a terrible terrible terrible writer)! Hawkeye's family gets killed and he escapes from captivity by killing people with his fingernails! And what can be said about that comment by Cap about France?

There were some interesting things in there, like Thor maybe being a crazy hippie and not actually a god, but then all ambiguity was removed to have a Lord of the Rings battle at the end of volume 2. And of course, making Ultimate Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson is genius, but pretty much everything else is just awful.

edit: oh and the art is nice too, unless it's a panel where the photo reference is too obvious (Hitch however is pretty good at making it not completely obvious, unlike Greg "pornface" Land)

I love how the the only thing AvX accomplished was making everyone a complete asshole.

Haven't read the end of it, is the comic saying Cyclops was right in using the strongest cosmic-level planet-destroying puny-Earth-dust-in-space force that takes over anyone's mind and fucks it up big time, hoping he's special enough he would be the exception capable of using it for good ?

He really didnt had a choice , ironman blasted it apart, it possessed the strongest five mutants avaliable.

four of them were ex villains, and went mad pretty fast, but while they were still all okay they were helping people all over the world. Cyclops was still sane even with the full power boost, and then they had to press him until he snapped and went insane.

Now suddenly its his fault that he was possessed?

No, it is that after it happened, he thought he'd be special enough to control it. Last time I looked at it, he was thinking "hey, you know, if I kill Emma, I'll get all of the Phoenix Force just for me."
edit - and of course before it happened the very idea that it was possible to use for themselves a cosmic force that spends time turning worlds to space dust, doesn't give a shit about Earth, and has never once met its match in the universe, was ridiculous. This kind of storyline has been used before, except it was always the villain trying to do that. Now the hero thinks he's special enough to succeed in doing something they themselves have always stopped villains from doing.

just finished watching 1st episode of season 8 Supernatural, I hoped it would have shown more of life in purgatory in several early episodes instead of several flash back here and there showing scenes. anyway I hope it would be a better season than the last 2 seasons

They should have just ended it with S5 like the creator wanted. It was perfect. Though, yes.... I'm still watching too for some reason. But I'm not liking it!!!

Do you really read comics? the phoenix was jean grey for years being good. The hellfire club manipulated her and made her evil. Before that the phoenix was NOT blowing up planets etc etc. The avengers fucked up the whole plan of allowing hope to use the force to bring back mutants. Which is what it came there FOR. Because of stupid ass wanda's "NO MORE MUTANTS"

I agree the storyline was stupid as shit. But to say the phoenix force was always evil is just silly. Because it's not.
