This looks pretty interesting so far. The shock sprite looks super good (the X-Ray sprite, like how you did the eyes there too), and the Stung sprite is solid too. The Sliced sprite, I honestly forgot that's a thing that MUGEN can do lol. Looking forward to seeing how you handle her moveset! And looking forward to the Bliss and Sangue sprites for her~ Curious what you have in mind for her Bliss!

Mmm...I think for my own sanity, this might be as far as I go with the Fauna sprite. I know I'm missing some shading and some very little details, but need to be done with this at some point, and I think this might be a good enough spot. Not PERFECT, but with my OCD, it'd never be done lol. If anyone wants to touch up on shading, that's up to you.

For the time being, debating on what might be the next spriting project. Still going to be more Hololive folks, but the ones I have in mind are either Lamy, Coco, or Mumei. Mumei might be the easiest to do out of the batch, but not sure. Meanwhile, think Coco might be the hardest...

Yeah, the feet hasn't been touched that much at all. Smaller details like that and with the symbols on the dress itself are going to be done later if I decide to do it.

Yeah, I'm not exactly good at shading, so I'm not sure what I'm really doing lol. I'm assuming the left leg shading should be more...slimmed??

My biggest issue is figuring out how to shade the white parts of the peacock dress. That's the last thing really left to do I feel other than fixing other shading issues. I might just omit the symbols lol

Been a while! Forgot to post this sprite a while back I think ^^;

So, Hexioum helped fix the sprite up quite a bit, and I haven't touched up on it in about a month. Got back to it finally, been working on shading which isn't my forte. I was using Litch and Celica as references, but moved to Es since Es' design seems to be close enough to Fauna's design.



So most of the shading work has been around the chest area, the legs, and the left arm area. Any advice on this? This is pretty much nearly done at this point, and would like to finish this up so I can potentially move onto the next sprite (when motivation strikes lol). Unless anyone wants to try and do the shading, up to you.

Overall, the touch-ups were very much appreciated since the one I was doing I was just stuck forever fixing stuff. This was after changing the leg pose as well.

...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF HOW DID I FORGET VEGA AND DUDLEY!? I...AHHHHHH!!!! lol I literally never even thought of them, probably because they weren't Blazblue style, but their roses would probably still work just as well! Do they have multiple angles to work with too? That's another thing that might be hard to do is the different angles (I'm also not entirely sure if the ones on the right side of the body would be seen??)

Also might change the feet/leg positions after all, because someone in Faunacord brought up how uncomfortable that is, and I tried to stand that way myself. Yeah, it's uh...definitely really hard on the knees! Which is blargh because like...I already had everything done for the legs too T-T

Debating on posting this, since I'm sure people are tired of seeing me post so often ^^;; But finished the skirt outright I think! Thing is a butt...and also tried to get the rose to work. I took a couple roses from Rachel's sprite and downsized them, and I know they look awful, but I'm also not sure how to do roses??

Again, only an hour work this time. Mostly fixing the left sleeve to be of the right length, and trying to fix the curvature of the peacock skirt. Also added details to the dress top, thanks to Mochu for the help with all of that! Also tried to get the ear drawn out, which...ears are hard without references! I'll have to find a sprite with a good ear reference that's not covered up! Oh, and also fixed the right side of the peacock skirt, which I didn't realize was part of it! Oops!

Only spent an hour this time. However, made progress on the legs (which wasn't that hard), but the main thing was readjusting the length of both skirts (the main one would've been TOO short, the peacock one needed to be longer to be below the kneecaps, which it wasn't originally) and then finishing the inside portion of the peacock skirt. Still need to readjust the left sleeve though to be longer.

Also readjusted the right horn's width as well as the dress top cleavage area to better fit the image. At that point now where I may need help with doing the details now!

Early, but due to leaving current job (3rd shift) and going to bed at a decent hour (3 AM instead of 8 AM, allowing me to get up at 9-10 AM instead of 5 PM), I was able to do another stream~ This one worked on sleeves and skirt, though the sleeves are...a pain. I may have to ask for assistance in fixing things up once all is fully done, if anyone is willing to help with that. ^^;;

My only point of feedback would be the perspective of the back arm and the legs. The torso is rotated forward, but the lower body not to that extend. Rotating the lower body a bit more forward also allows you to space the legs further apart maybe, leading to a more clear silhoutte.

By that, do you mean the legs?? Or the abdomen area?

Big thanks to Hexioum for the base for this! I would say this works a lot better than the original, yes? The hair is a nightmare to do on smaller sprites, but does it look good?? I feel the back of the head is too far away from the head?? And the "shawl" part isn't spread apart enough, and the diamond isn't at the right angle??

I haven't really been using any sprites as reference right now, though Celica's been sitting there in case I need her.

Oh, Litchi might actually work, though she might be way more buxom. Though would height be an issue in regards there? I don't know how tall she is (the one I'm spriting for is 5'3", so that may make things a bit tricky maybe?).

I think I did that a loooong time ago with something else. I just don't remember what and I don't think I have that frankensprite anywhere anymore. But I do know what you're talking about!

Also, how did you find something so clean? lol...the model I found was from Dustloop and it looked crusty as heck!

I WANT to say that I used Dizzy's face a little, but I think I didn't because it doesn't look as "mature" as Dizzy. Maybe I left it as May's face or something.

I do appreciate the help, honestly. I'm just hoping that I can make this as good as I can so that I can give it to Fauna once it's all said and done. Will definitely take quite a bit of time due to work and all that, but want to at least try, ya know? ^^;

(Also, when I was doing the hair on the Jam, I forgot how much of a pain in the butt hair can be lol. But it's still not as awful as HANDS. OMG hands are still the worst even in pixel form, just remembering the Maria sprite!!)

True, true. I forgot all about these sprites, honestly lol. Though I've always been semi-awful at smaller sprites lol. Though I should check those two games, don't think I ever have. Only checked Guilty Gear mostly for hi-res sprites. MAYBE Blazblue?? I don't remember, but back then, don't think I did.

The last sprite I made 10 years ago was this one:



Which was a bit of an amalgamation of +R May (for height and other things) & Millia (for shading), and Shannon from Ougon Musou Kyouku (for the arms and legs). I don't remember how I handled the rest of this anymore, but that was the last thing I ever did, out of whim too for...some reason or another lol. Still Guilty Gear-esque, but that was about the best of my spriting capabilities back then.

If you can help with the posing, that would really REALLY help speed things along.

I could probably go with Blazblue instead for the resolution and sprite size?? And it'd still look nice as pixel art, right? That's still sprites, right?

Though finding a pose from there that'd be as close to Menat's might be tricky for me, I don't know the characters at all to know which one would be the best to work with like Jam was. Finding a pose that was roughly the same stance (it's not the same as Menat's, I know but it's the closest) with the arm slightly out (which I think one of Jam's supers would've been good for that, but I don't have access to Xrd models lol) was hard lol. But yeah, if the Xrd resolution would be TOO bad, then probably go with Blazblue if that's still sprites. Can still look nice and still get the good details, yes?

I am doing all of this in Paint, mind you, so I don't have layers to work with ^^;; I do have GIMP, but I haven't really ever worked in that. The re-trace idea does sound like it'd be a good idea, though I'm not sure how I would do that very well.

EDIT - Again, I'm willing to pay for anyone to do the base, if it'll help things along smoother. Sure, it's a bit of coping out, but well...ya know...^^;
