Ok so here's what JZ provided me with:











lacking X Y Z (which mugen uses)..is it me or could those buttons use some antialiasing?

Anyways, how should we implement these? as smileys as in :hcf::hp: or some motion syntax hf, if the latter, what's the , supposed to be translated to? nothing?

I think the motion tag is more practical than coming up with smiley shortcuts for all of them without conflicting with anything.  And a comma should be a comma, it's generally used to separate inputs.

also how would you indicate charge moves

e: type 'hold' or 'charge' lol

what do you guys think is a better idea for the hold commands? just back-forward and down-up or do we bother with the different colored arrows for those "hold down-back and then up-forward" type commands that aren't really common to begin with

or do we just use hold or charge like c001357 said

Have a text icon saying "charge" yeah, just swapping the arrow colors will often make you need to clear up it's a charge motion.  Wasn't there a CvS icon for the Guile super motion as well?

Since you're already editing the buttons, can you make them the same size as the arrows (or vice-versa)?

maybe an Hourglass with a small ".5", "1", "2" or "3" next to it, as in "hold"?

Sonic Boom: red left arrow, "2" hourglass, yellow right arrow, HP

I'd go for an "noone will work with conventions, but give people a chance to make their commands look pretty" approach, which is pretty much what we have with the mcode and math tags :P

Screencaps from SFIV PC movelists.  I'd help, but I'm waiting for that to get to 20 or below to buy since I already have it for PS3.

What about "~"? I forget the name of it but it's when you have to press buttons one right after the next almost at the same time.

I think its pretty obvious when you get a sequence that you cant be pausing between presses for the move to come out.
