Warnings for bitching about winmugen versions in 1.0 section?

Been away from mugen for a little while. I come back and check in on a 1.0 release and the topic was more about hoping a winmugen version happens and the arguement that creates. Later in that thread it mentions how that goes down in many 1.0 threads.

Due to that, possible idea:

Give out warnings for bitching about hoped winmugen version in 1.0 release threads?

okay i have this image that i'm thinking of creating an animation for. basically i resized it to 320 pixels but its a good bit longer than 240. what i'm thinking is i'll create frames by sliding it to the left in a 320x240 blank template capturing a png file to convert, repeat process til reach end of image. (hope that made sense)

is that a good idea (totally new to that sort of thing) and how many frames is too many?

getting contributor is not about releasing whatever only. its also about being part of the community too. of the 2 i gave -1 above, 1 has 4 posts, the other about 30. and i was merely pointing out that voting had ended on silentripper in favor of (assuming 5-4 is enough, really dont know the full rule on what it takes for the voting)

i loved what shamrock did with his wiki. if that could be taken over by the guild, that'd be great.

and can integrate it into the forum for the database portion by creating subsections that redirect right into the links of the wiki DB.

that big long hard to read bunch of bullshit he posted, ignore it. zox/cyber is a pathological liar. for example, the "cousin" (in his mind the cyber name) just so happened to appear after zox got a warning for cussing at xfields. why did he cus him? because he was mad at xfields for not giving him catwoman sprites. catwoman by xfields is a WIP that has not been released yet.

so zox "retired" from mugen and cyber appeared. supposedly a cousin who shares the same computer and ip. that was the public story. but he would tell people in private they were the same.

cyberzox, if you want a clean slate on mfg, i suggest you start telling the truth.

here's an idea....

bluestreak by diepod (apologies to him if he don't like the idea) to the world side? i already know he's gonna be a new favorite original char of mine whenever released.

glad that worked out :) though i have a feeling diepod and sean might have been talking about it before i mentioned it here and all i did was think of a similar idea they already had.

Thanks for the feedback. Some of the errors I found and fixed were obviously messing up gameplay, yet very few people reported them.

In short, thanks for testing and helping make this project better.

no need to thank me. i'm just glad you are making this as i think it can revolutionize mugen full gaming. i'll be honest, all my ideas are based upon full game applications. so i figure what feedback i can give the main way i can give back to you for even doing whatever.

and remember, i have a friend that works with VB.net every day and he'd help if you'd like. (referring to a pm sent while back)

finally got a chance to check him out.

i like what you did, thank you for sharing.

here an idea to help broaden the helper coding. hulk and captain america sprite rips by kong are totally open source. and if you can animate this, got a custom option

if the pic won't embed, take this link and look for hawkeye: http://scrollboss.illmosis.net/customsprites.php?g=marvel

looking for clarification on something i noticed in general with sigs.

is all that matters is the dimensions of an image used or does it also take into account total sig height? i ask because i've noticed sigs where combination of text + image height = more than 200 pixels.

welcome back and glad you are working on this again. reposting this here due to i guess this is the main topic for the project.

Everyone, especially those of you considering full game projects, please take a look at this tool as it can revolutionize things you can do with a full game if shamrock gets the proper feedback.

Thank you for resolving that 1 bug I told you about in pm. That bug prevented my being about to test the previous version any more.

Regarding the current version:
- love the new layout and selection
- good job on giving options for tournament size
- would maybe like a readme txt file in the next version. for instance, when clicking set up, was there anything else i was supposed to do?
- not all chars 9000,1 port were shown
- many/most names were not used
- did not see instances where character behavior was jacked up like in previous pm report. however, super mario never randomly picked either when testing (ran 4 tests)
- still got times where the wrong winner moved onto the next round (can't recall though how many rounds that match took however) i do know it happened less frequently
- the win quote window apparently uses the top portion of a def file including nonsensical info and does not read the character name correctly (though that might be tied to the previous mention of name not listed correctly)
- had an instance where clicking the final had 3 mugen windows open. i may have doubleclicked once however which would explain the 2nd window but not the 3rd. in any case, maybe try to put something in to prevent more than 1 mugen application opening at a time?
- is there something coded in to where a fighter picked will use a particular palette? i ask because it might be better to have random palette selection happen. i bring it up due to 1 of the fighters i used to test (marvin martian) always picked the same annoying palette
- still getting times where tournament keeps selecting randomly for every slot instead of going for a wider range of bracket selection (i.e. multiple use of same fighters instead of broadening the roster more)
- will only characters on the def file be candidates for selection? i had more in the char file but not on the def file (using fresh mugen v1.1 with default screenpack which limits however many on the def file)
- escaping out of a match not yet finished picked a winner as if the fight did get completed

ideas for further versions (some of which may include ideas towards better future full game usage):
- use more match types (including being able to mix. for example 1v2, 1vturnbased team of 4, etc)
- stream from 1 match to the next
- ability to specifically choose a match up each round (including mixed match types)
- ability to lay out fight path opponents (including mixed match types)
- more rounds along that path
- access whatever avi or other file types (such as what people use for arcade intro and endings) between matches to help tell a full game story

thank you for the info.

and i know nothing about linux, so animget will have to be the option i use. can someone plz tell me the exact pixel dimensions again for a full screen sprite in mugen to where i can shrink the avi file to that and have animget be able to process whatever better.

If I'm in the wrong section, mod plz move this.

I've seen it done a couple times I believe. Part of hyper bg for Goku (i think) and Ghost Rider come to mind for me, but I am sure there are others.

What I want to do is take a part of the graphical credits from a movie and use towards BG animation of a screenpack. What tool is need and what steps do I need to take (minus the convert to pcx and indexing as that part I know)
