DonuTs said, September 25, 2009, 08:35:59 amis the quote screen optional or will it always appear? It will always appear I think...
I haven't tried out the new mugen yet, but I'm guessing the quote system is just text right? If it could use sounds as well then it wouldn't be such a bad idea but if it's just text then I could care less, I'd rather just skip it like DonuTs said.
So there is no character specific sounds for each quote then right? Having bgm for the screen doesn't make the quote system any more appealing to me.
Okay. You didn't specify that, you just said sounds, so I answered. I'm not sure what's not cool about a win quote system, but to each their own.

I don't see much that's appealing about it. It's just text that you write in yourself which is probably only gonna be viewed by yourself so the quotes wouldn't be very funny or cool, so I don't see much point in making quotes for all the characters in your mugen roster. It's not really a bad idea, I'm sure many like it, but I personally don't care much for it.
well authors will take advantage of it in the future adding it to their characters and adding music to the win quote screen makes it more like a full game remember mugen is an engine to create 2D fighting games.
I really hope they will work on Multiplayer online gameplay cause its the only thing M.U.G.E.N really really needs ,pack all folders and check crc during online to avoid quick hacks.Rest of the features are only small add-ons , every serious game today should have multiplayer support or else it dies after some time, how many years you can play vs fighting games alone ?Anybody asked about possibility of multiplayer in engine ?
well if you want you can sign up for there forum and ask :/ personally though I don't think now is the right time to imlement anything as lofty as online play there are still alot of bug that need to be ironed out.
I just read this.Oh snap.I think this was an ohsnap moment for anybody when they first saw that Elecbyte, the legendary unknown undead guy that no1 ever expected to see again cuz he made a program and then perma-headdesked, came back. I think I would need a bit more info before playing this though. Skimming through the pages it sounds like this version of Mugen takes up way more RAM then the last one. As I can barely run the last one smoothly on my computer, I can't imagine why i'd want a fighting game that's a slideshow. unless the resource requirements are the same I'm gonna be stuck with the older version, like anyone else with old PCs, and that's a definite.Still very cool that he came back and is being all Mugen support-o though.
Well its Elecbyte is not a "He" its more like "They" but we are all excited as long as they run away with yet another half ass finished released
You can disable the quotes thing altogether. You cannot disable it on a character specific basis. Located in system.def.

I could care less about this little quote system, all I care about is more coding functionality, especially in the areas that, while coding, have made me go "RAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH MUGEN LIMITATIONSSSSSSS"
