B.J.B.D said, October 04, 2009, 09:50:58 amI'm using RC2. Works OK for the most part, but I can't get my screenpack to work(Mercury by Dragonseku btw). Somebody said something about changing the directory of the motif in mugen.cfg. Tried it, and it doesn't work. Is there something I missed?I don't think any of the old screenpacks work on this new mugen.
I really don' t know what to say except:Words LikeSpoiler, click to toggle visibilty awesome sweet excellent nifty groovy ownage rep ...Emotes LikeSpoiler, click to toggle visibilty 8) ...

The direction keys work for me when I found out, it's kinda 'naturally' already set as the directional buttons, so setting the directional keys will register as another button (Commonly the number pad). So, what should you do? I put all 4 directions to 'Enter' (Or a key you don't use) on the number pad and lay out the remaining buttons. Then go into training / vs then try moving the 2nd player with the directions pad.
No its still their. just look for this line in your mugen.cfg file under video. ;Set to 1 to enable fullscreen mode, 0 for windowed.FullScreen = 0
Wow, this is so unexpected. Ok, many questions for you all. I'm not looking for an easy way out but there is just too much info--37 pages--to digest here. 1. What does this new Mugen do?2. I take it I cannot use older chars?3. What kind of PC requirements exist?THANKS!

What kind of PC requirements exist?THANKS!1-It is able to change the resolution on a "per char" basis through local coordinates.Chars come with winquotes, stages can be built using true colours.2-its totally able to use any older character without much effort.3- supposedly the same, but some people are having trouble loading it, if that happens, try to lower the resolution, change the processing method or change the compatibility mode on the exe to windows 98.
Define "much effort". Some of us are totally clueless about stuff like this. Hell, it took a while to teach myself all this stuff, I feel like I'm having to start over again.
Most often, without any effort at all. It is supposed to read every old character( there might be some that bug up ) But further down the line updates might have to start occuring.
bah, see that's what I am not interested in... unless someone can write an "auto-convert" tool, like DOS2WIN makes DOS Mugen characters work in WIN Mugen. Think there's a chance of that? I'm just not going to watch all my old stuff be unusable, and if I have to stay with the old versions that's what I'll do.
That's good news, but 2 critics for now:-the conversion of some old chars to this version....dont think it will be easy -cant play as player1, it only recognize me as player 2. hoping a final version lol

May I direct you to the comment before that which says "updates might be needed later", which I already covered about the authors not being around to do so making the character unusable, etc. etc. It's all right there.
Most people have a 1000+ chars roster and have no idea how to even change the life and power of a character, so that's why they wouldn't want to "update".

And updating probly won't be that difficult once everyone knows what all will require updating for old characters to work on the new mugen. And it'll probly only be simple things that need changing, like how Pots' characters don't work on xmugen until you change all the lines that say "hitreversed" to "gethit" which only takes like not even 2 minutes per character. And the more elecbyte updates this new mugen the more likely old characters will become more compatible. And it probly wouldn't be that difficult for someone to make some sort of "auto convert" tool to make old characters compatible for the new mugen.
