Yeah, I'm an ass because I pointed out that the character's scaling is incorrect? Hardly. The sprites themselves are scaled incorrectly from when bajm filtered them. See, when he took the sprites from Fighter Factory and then imported the PCX files a scaling option came into play. So whatever process he took from there on greatly affected the scaling of the images. Me pointing out a technical flaw with the edit  is hardly an opinion but a stone cold fact. Also, if you look at my posts and actually read them carefully instead of skimming over them like some pre-school forum jackass, you would easily note that I didn't once reply all "butthurt" as you stated. In fact my first post even stated that I took the time to check it against arcade sprites and other sources just to let forum hate mongers like yourself know that I wasn't going the opinion route. The first butthurt reply was your own where you used the "OMG different opinons!" retort. I will give you one thing though and admit that me not liking the final product is opinion. At least you got something right. Next time try actually knowing what you're talking about.

This edit is balls.

NEWS FLASH: People have different opinions over things.

Film at Eleven.
Yeah, only my opinion is based on the fact that he's scaled incorrectly. Oh my! Looks like your film just bombed at the box office.

Still I would prefer it if this hulk wasn't on some kind of diet that would make him skinny and tall. If it wasn't for that then this wouldn't be utter fail. Either way, Bajm edited it so it's not like I expected it to be anything special. Diet Hulk FTL.

Cute, using a "PM a mod" line. The only thing that takes any time to do is the parallax and is about it. Hell on the Jyahana stage you had goofy looking slithery rain and PI lightning that didn't fit, and you got those from alternative sources. The two "hardest" things you had to do were the parallax and the lightning. The lightning being on a background controller was probably all of Tamez's idea and work anyway. So time to produce a conversion with premade effects, fairly minimal. The fact that you spent little time on it bleeds through on the final product. I'm not saying don't make a WIP thread, I'm saying if make one make it for something that actually requires more than a minimal amount of effort. It's almost on par with the Sonic compilations. --;

I can see having a WIP/Project thread for screenpacks, characters, or stages that require a lot of involvement and time to produce, but I don't see how this falls into any of those categories.

Hank, whoever pumped this one out, made it automatically, even the portraits are scaled.
What you are talking about would take actually going in there and getting to know exactly the char.

are the clsn boxes fitting the new sprites?
I know, I'm an ass for expecting a minimal amount of effort to be put into anything. LoL

Looks like someone forgot to rescale the PCX's before filtering them. Now we have a skinny and tall HULK.  :-\

After comparing it to Marvel vs Capcom and Marvel Super Heroes in their native aspect ratio and various other sprites you can really see the difference in height and width. Whoever pumped this out may want to refilter the sprites after making sure that everything is squared away.

Now now Gill, calm down. It's just another Akuma... again... for the 4,385th time.

Irony.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

It would only be irony if I hadn't already contributed to the thread twice. Mostly everything else is, "OMG THIS SUCKS!" or some sub-intelligent smart ass comment. I thank you for trying though, and better luck next time.

I'm sorry, but this is just awful. Turning a stage red and lossy doesn't equal instant win.  >:(

Dude, 4 more pages? That's ridiculous. Awesome in some kind of way, but ridiculous nonetheless.

Anyway, even after receiving a PM from Volzzila thanking me for being "...the only sane person in the thread.", I'm not about to leave these last 4 pages untouched. I also have to admit that I spoke a little too soon when I posted earlier in the thread. I had forgotten about the Guyver that I had ages ago and never knew that it was updated just recently. So my stance on this whole issue would have been shifted greatly if I had remembered and/or knew those two facts. So this throws a lot of things into question. One of the things I find my self asking is: How much of the original code has been lifted from the original work? All sprites and pallets were lifted with no clear modifications to either and a quick special thanks in a readme to the author. So it leads me to believe that a lot of it, if not all of the original code was kept while modifications to the AI and maybe the move set where all that happened. I can't really check because I trashed the old one with little to no hesitation way back when. This character should have been marked as an edit in it's thread title, the description of the character, and so on from the start. But then again, not much seems to have been edited. This just seems like a small personal modification with an AI patch that is cheap enough to take out Rare Akuma. It's hardly release worthy in the form it's in now and reeks of Watch Mode syndrome.

YoungDragun, your introduction post in this thread was deplorable and every post thereafter had the same arrogant overtones. You and your characters aren't infallible. If you had been civil from the get go feedback would have been given to you in an equally civil manner. Like it or not, Cybaster is one of the few who actually gives decent feedback on this forum. Listening to him can actually help you improve if you don't know what you are doing. There are others who give awesome feedback as well but they are hardly active enough to count on getting feedback from. If you or Volzzila were looking for the forum standard IMT "Nice char/character (or car as some idiots like to put it) +1!!!" mentality, I hate to disappoint you but it hardly exists here. Best thing would to be to either scrap this edit or just keep it personal for the time being until you find a way to actually improve it. Volzilla said something about how it doesn't matter what we think but it matters at what you, the author, think of your work. Well if you're personally satisfied with the outcome of the character, then by all means keep plugging away I guess. However, don't expect friendly feedback while outputting sub-par work. Even a little effort goes a long way.

True, ill start giving proper credit when i release stages from now on,

im still going to try to make my own stuff though, Thanks.

You may want to try and asking authors for permission to use some of their stuff before assuming that you'll just get by with only crediting them and not asking. Not all creators what their self-created content used by others. You've already had a near miss or two recently.

Well you always have the option of ignoring Gill. Which is an option you aren't exercising very well. I'll agree that it's best to please yourself with your own creations, but it's more satisfying to make something that looks and plays well. Mediocrity seems to be a MUGEN-wide trend that people are getting comfortable with as of late and it would be nice to see creators get themselves out of that routine. It's sad watching potential being squandered because people are lazy.

then dont download him and dont try and determine other peoples thoughts either. its your opinion.

if the creator chooses to work in that style, its his choice. if he wanted to make him covered in pink and purple polka dots, its his choice. people make characters how they want to make them as its their opinion that matters the most.
You can complain about Gill's opinion all you like (seriously, reporting his post over that?) but I can assure you that the general consensus regarding the sprite cutting and palette choices will pretty much match what he said. The sprites look poorly ripped and there are stray pixels all over the place. Also there are remnants of pink BG. You know how DOS MUGEN characters look all malformed when brought into WinMUGEN? well it kind of looks a lot like that. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but all the sprites NEED to be redone. At the moment it just seems like you have a lazily made place holder over a bunch of code.
