Title: Your dream MUGEN characters!
Post by: Ziltoid on October 03, 2020, 10:40:34 am
This thread is blatantly inspired by the interesting discussions prompted by KarmaChameleon’s Wip thread, but since the thread itself  is now a poll, I though we may want to continue the discussion elsewhere and in a broader scope. I enjoyed a lot reading everyone’s suggestions, I hope this may prompt some neat ideas too. So yeah, what are the characters you’d like to see in mugen someday? Any style, shape or form is accepted, this thread is just for fun!

A suggestion: don’t just type names and leave it as that. Try to be as detailed as possible, possibly including the reason why you want that character and how you’d want it. It makes the discussion more fun and interesting. Pretend you’re talking to a content creator that offered to make your character: who knows, maybe someone will read your idea and actually make it...

I’ll give you some examples. I may add more if this thread gains momentum.

One idea I had in the aforementioned thread was a (POTS) version of Nakoruru with both a “normal/slash” version and an “evil/alternate/bust” version. The normal one would be the Nakoruru we all know and love, accompanied by Mamahaha. The alternate version would be inspired by her alternate form in SSIII (the one that became her own separate character in the form of Rera, later) and have her pet wolf instead. The problem with this idea is the fact that sprites for CvS Nakoruru mounting the wolf would have to be made, but I don’t think it’s unfeasible.

Another dream character of mine is a boss version of Orochi in POTS style. I love the lore of the first saga and I love the sense of dread and anticipation that builds up in all the games until the fateful encounter in ‘97 (even if the fight itself was kinda lame). And I love how Orochi looks and moves. I’d like to see a boss form of him made in this style, with his classic moves and maybe something new up his sleeve.

Lastly, I’d like to see some more SFIII era characters made in proper POTS style. If I had to pick one, I’d pick Oro: dude is crazy fun to play, and I like his freakish style. Maybe now that he’s in the spotlight again with his inclusion in SFV someone will make him. Others I’d like to see POTSized properly are Necro, Dudley and Elena.

What are your ideas?

I'm not sure if I can be of much interest here due to my disinterest in POTS characters. :P

But I suppose, I really want a good MVC version of X-23 for this engine. I just love when people come together to take 3D characters and sprite them out for 2D use in MUGEN. It's always amazed me how godly some of them can look and I really want to see X-23 given the justice she deserves.

I've got nothing technical really... I suppose I just want fun characters. :P

Hmm... I suppose I'd really love a version of Dan Hibiki that's competent yet retaining his joke-like nature. Something to at least make him viable but in a non-serious way. For example... give his fireballs good range but make them bounce like Mario fireballs. XP

Forgive me if I'm doing this wrong haha.

You’re doing it perfectly right! And no, this is not for POTS only, I listed characters in this style because that’s what I like, but anyone can list anything!

And I like your idea of a “joke but competent” Dan Hibiki. In my own useless opinion, a joke character should be a joke in looks and style, not in playability. Your idea of bouncing fireballs is a good example of something that can be goofy but deceivingly effective.

For now I wish we could get a Pots style Spidey and Hulk with AI.

Not gonna lie I'm probably gonna attempt to make a jokingly competent Dan. Simply because, well, is Dan. XP

I'd have more luck sharing my idea that I wanna make, not just what I wanna see. I've got a bitchin' Thanos concept I wanna make/see. But it's weirdly specific?

I would like to see mostly POTS characters... (because I like the idea to put many characters from Capcom + SNK into a same system game)

-Cammy (Delta red - with the old school boots) and proprer CVS sprites. (perhaps inculding some moves from SFV)
-Jae Hoon and Dong Hwan, they could make a great 3 player team with their Dad.
-Blaze Fielding with her new moves (and hopefully design) from SOR4 (and finally giving her a normal walk and her german suplex)
-Tifa with her Ehergeiz fighting style. and actual CVS sprites.
-Oro and Necro from SF3 would be so fun to play !
-Kisarah Westfield (NGBC) - I would like to edit her into a custom version based on both NGBC and AODK. (but I'm not good to accuracy)
-Gai Tendo (Buriki One) - I think he would be a very badass character and would play very well compared to Buriki One standards.

I don't think I have more precise reasons, it's just that I like these characters and they need a pots coversion imo

EDIT : also Kof Angel (into POTS). Even if I'm pretty sure everybody is scared as f*ck to even try to code her... And I can understand it...

Seems to me that marvel characters are almost exclusively made in MvC style, for obvious reasons.

If you released such a version of Dan in your releases, I wouldn't be surprised at all (considering your avatar). You know, you can be one of the content creators that can use this thread for suggestions, actually! Anyway, I'm curious about your bitching Thanos.

Nice suggestions, there are a lot I'd also want! Especially Cammy, she desperately needs a good Delta Red version (I dug in the codes of Chuchoryu's version and...my fucking god, what a mess).

Tifa is an interesting choice, I saw a Mugen version of her a while ago, I don't remember if she was POTS or something else, but the author put more effort on her boobs than on the rest. I think Blaze may be a nice reference for a complete remake of Tifa's sprites.

Infinite makes some stellar Marvel characters in his style which is derivative of pots which would also work well.

Sailormoon characters done in Melty Blood style (4 button layout) with KOF2000 striker system and the tag system of both MvsSF, aerial combo tag of MVC3/TVC and KOFXI. Has a an extra tag/striker meter for cooldown and usage to limit assist spamming and needless tagging. Or maybe Arcana Heart 2 style. I'm thinking may be using Digimons or Pokemons in place of the elemental Arcanas.

Ideas, you say..

I've always wanted to take the characters from Time Killers and BloodStorm and make them into MK styled characters. This would mean eliminating the limb removal system that these games are known for, but these games were (for the most part) clones of MK. Hell, BloodStorm was pretty damn blatant about being an MK killer.

For example, each character would have a Fatality. Hellhound has one in BloodStorm called 'Char Dog'. In the game, it's pretty uninspiring finisher.

Here, it would be a Dragon Bite styled Fatality. I would use the sprites from 3rd form Abyss (MvC2 Abyss, of course) and use that as the base for this move.

Other ideas include...

-Tempest: Exorcism would change into a head explosion. Maybe take a page from Ghost Rider's Penace Stare?
-Tremor: Despite an actual MK character with the same name, his finisher would take a page from Jax's Fatality from Deadly Alliance, except I would use his Gauntlet instead of the feet
-Freon: Bloody Slushy would be more of a 'slice and dice' way to finish the move.

Maybe a good MvC Styled X based on his MvC Infinite gameplay, using Daniel M. Cozer's X sprite as an initial design and the rest of the animations remade by NDSilva or some [Insert Active Author here] based on the Megaman X's Playstation Trilogy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aaaand a Vampire Saviour styled Dante (From Devil May Cry Series, obviously) based on his Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Infinite gameplay, using either Riey/Reluu's or Steamboy33's sprite as an initial design and the rest of his animations made by MotorRoach and someone else (Because GladiaCloud will retire after completing Beast)

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iori Yagami and Nao made by LunaTuna just like how he/she did Shermie and Isabeau (D, B, D, B, Start for Orochi Iori/Unknown)

SailorMaRs1030's edit of Mouser's K' (<- With his Hyper Heat Drive Sprited by ALTHedge)

POTS-fied K' with sprites made by DGO and coding by either KarmaChameleon or DivineWolf

Roy and Chrom by Insert Author Here using their sprites made by RMVGames

To actually contribute to the conversation, my dream characters are CvS/POTS conversions of Maximum Impact originals (Mignon Beart, Nagase, Chae Lim, etc.). And Linus. Just CvS Linus. I really don't have many "dream characters" because when I think of a character I want for MUGEN, I usually try to plan doing it myself.

Since this thread is taking hold, I'll throw in some more characters in my wishlist.

First of all, this Eric Draven coded in any style (possibly POTS, of course). (https://www.deviantart.com/sil3nt-j/art/The-Crow-Eric-Draven-Sprite-Sheet-769009538) I'm a fan of The Crow and Brandon Lee since ever, and I'd give a kidney to see him in playable form. Sadly, no one tried to code these beautiful sprites.

Some even more outlandish dream characters are Raziel and Kain from the Legacy of Kain series. Outlandish because no one even ever tried making some sprites of 'em. I'd love to see 'em in CvS form (or a CvS/DarkStalkers hybrid style like Jmorphman's Demitri), with a playstyle revolved around their weapons of choice and their powers. In the case of Raziel, I can see him shifting in the spiritual plane as a form of teleportation, and changing the elemental properties of the Soul Reaver. Kain has a bunch of vampirish powers that can easily become some special/super moves (morphs, spells and so forth).

I've always wanted to take the characters from Time Killers and BloodStorm and make them into MK styled characters.

You mean in the style of Mortal Kombat Project?

Aaaand a Vampire Saviour styled Dante (From Devil May Cry Series, obviously) based on his Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Infinite gameplay, using either Riey/Reluu's or Steamboy33's sprite as an initial design and the rest of his animations made by MotorRoach and someone else (Because GladiaCloud will retire after completing Beast)

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

This is probably my favourite of the ideas I've read so far. DarkStalkers's style would fit Dante sooooo well, and those sprites are really well done! One of my "dream games" is a full DarkStalkers game with a full roster of characters in the style of Jmorphman's Demitri, plus some carefully chosen guests from other Capcom games that fit the style. Like Dante, Red Earth characters, Ruby Heart and Amingo.

and also CVS/POTS style Sie Kensou with his KOF XI Costume and KOF XIII Animations

I think '98 Kensou fits better the CvS looks. But yeah, we need a decent Kensou.

In regards to my 'bitchin' Thanos' idea, it's not a Thanos that bitches. XD

I've had an idea for two versions of Thanos I plan to make at some point. Collector Thanos, and Selector Thanos. In short, Collector Thanos starts out with no Infinity Stones, and has to collect them by doing combos, which increases the number of hypers he can use. Collect all of them and your hypers are powered up, and you can use The Snap. Still workshopping it, but hey.

Selector Thanos has all the stones, but can only use one at a time. The stone can be freely changed throughout battle by pressing a certain attack button plus taunt at the same time, or you can start with your preferred stone based on the palette of your choice. And, Thanos' moveset changes to reflect the stone currently in use.

... probably too complicated but I like complicated characters.

You're in the ballpark, Ziltoid. The MK Project (especially 4.1) would be perfect place for these characters.

But, I was thinking more along the lines of what OMEGAPSYCHO did before he abruptly quit. These characters play much like their in game counterparts, but have original finishers. Hell, he made an M. Bison with sprites from the Movie game and made it work well.

THAT is what I'm aiming for with these characters - MK styled game play with original finishers that are better suited for MUGEN itself.

And, Thanos' moveset changes to reflect the stone currently in use.

I like this idea better. The Collector version sounds cool on paper, but this archetype starts "weak" and may end up being a bit frustrating to use if you can't turn the tide of a match because you can't get the stones. The Selector version can be a powerhouse of mind tricks.

Plus, this idea sounds a lot like what I had in mind when I wrote about Raziel literally while you were typing, so we're on the same page! I imagine Raziel switching from element to element (and changing moves and properties) in the exact same way.

But, I was thinking more along the lines of what OMEGAPSYCHO did before he abruptly quit. These characters play much like their in game counterparts, but have original finishers. Hell, he made an M. Bison with sprites from the Movie game and made it work well.

Got it. I'm not familiar much with OMEGAPSYCHO's characters because I don't usually like to mesh MK and normal mugen, but I see what you mean. Not gonna lie, seems a very cool idea for a MK/BloodStorm/TimeKiller crossover game with those characters as a basis.

dream roaster:
leon kennedy: i remember there was a kof styled leon kennedy, i loved him even though i wasn't a fan of his gameplay style. i would love to redo him in KI style.
jill valantine.
mr x from re2, using sean alty's version.
dante, vergil and lady from dmc.
kenji from red earth.
zombie ryu: he would like evil ryu but more twitchy and zombie like...
cody from final fight, but more violent. maybe make the knife a permanent weapon in his hand.
jotaru, vanila ice, dio and kakoyine from jojo's venture.
the bald guy from hitman.
rex colt from far cry blood dragon
raiden from metal gear revengeance
kenshiru from fist of the north star: using his arcsys sprites of course.

That's awesome. I like his work.

Anyhow... the reason behind the Time Killers or BloodStorm characters being based more in OmegaPsycho's style is that the characters in both games are animated sprites and they would really clash with the digitized sprites of the MK characters in MK Project.

But: There is another idea that would work perfectly with MK Project - characters from Blood Warrior and Survival Arts. Imagine a goofy ass character like the Kappa from Blood Warrior with an MK style game play in MK Project?

Roy and Chrom by Nep Heart using their sprites made by RMVGames

Lol, I'm not really interested in Fire Emblem, but even then, RMVGames' sprites aren't good either.

With that said, definitely more decent Neptunia characters, which I would love to make if there were more good resources to work with.

A decently sprited Kyoko Sakura as well since the pre-existing ones are kinda eh and I do want to eventually make the entire Puella Magi Quintet at the very least.

A good Nitori, which RicePigeon is getting to anyway. Now for a decent Kyoko Kasodani...

More Pokemon that are decent as opposed to the tradition of them being abysmally awful.

 More decent SEGA characters.

Oh boy, where do I even start. I can go at anyway and say Gingerbrave or Peppermint Cookie (my avatar, kinda) from cookie run, but heres a couple of simple (or meh If you prefer) choices I like to see.

1. Mr. Game & Watch

Of course, kamek (or NeoKamek) made him, but only his melee/brawl counterpart, and its... fair, but nowadays I bet it be nice for a simple upgrade now that his Ultimate (not wii u/3ds) version has some potential with his *interesting* details.

2. Kung fu mans Girlfriend

lazy choice, but come on man, its  2020 and it has been far too long for poor ol kfm to be lonely all the time without his love.

Fully-updated versions of POTS's characters, with Jmorphman's Explodsive buffering system, SmartPal, updated velocities and frame advantage, the works. Also, updates to some other old tried-and-true standards up to the standard of greatness with better frame advantage and control. Such as Haruhi and Homer. Both pretty big in their day, but now? They've been long outclassed, so why don't we make what's old new again?

Also:
* Makoto Naegi (Danganronpa)
* A GOOD Jenny Wakeman
* Earthworm Jim in Darkstalkers style
* Catra (either her original or modern version is fine). He-Man and Skeletor both exist, so when will She-Ra get her nemesis? There's plenty of move ideas for her, like Black Orchid's jaguar attack.
* A Beast Wars full-game, SNES style. 1 Super Move, 4 buttons. Sorta like Endless Duel or MMPR Fighting Edition.
* Monika as a proper fighter instead of a large boss
* A normal-sized Shantae (Dampir might be able to pull it off.), so she can face off with other characters with impunity, and especially against MugenHunter's Sonic.

I'd like to see more of the Smash Bros. characters have MUGEN versions (besides Fire Emblem).

But I'd probably like to Meta Knight in OHMSBY's BBTAG style for example. His Kirby and Samus both are fun to use.

I'd also like to see certain UNIB fighters in that style, such as Hyde and Linne.

All I want are the following:

Esdeath (Akame ga Kill)
Tyris Flare (Golden Axe)
Gwendolyn (Odin Sphere)
Solange (Code of Princess/Blade Strangers)
Overwatch characters (I'd rather have Tracer and Widowmaker)
Ike (Fire Emblem)
Shulk (Xenoblade)
Terra Branford (FFVI)
Bayonetta
A POTS/Infinite Squall Leonhart (I don't like the OG made by SeanAltly cause 4-button layouts aren't my thing)
A POTS/Infinite Tifa Lockhart (I tried to make my own but then I ragequit after getting frustrated with coding and shit)
KOS-MOS (In her Version 4 armor, with actual CVS or Hi-Res sprites)
Sora (Kingdom Hearts with CVS or Hi-Res sprites. Literally every Sora in MUGEN I can think of is fucking wack ass COM/JUS styled >.<)

As for unreleased WIPS at the moment:

Shantae by OHMSBY
Amazon (Dragon's Crown, by Violin Ken)
POTS/Infinite Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello by R@CE AKIR@
Orie by Kohaku

As I hoped, this prompted a lot of interesting stuff! Lemme address some of these...

i always liked the killer instinct games and wondered why no one yet made KI styled characters. so if i was to make dream characters i would probably code them in a KI style with fatalities from mortal kombat thrown in, although i want them to be supermoves that the player can do when his opponent health reach a very low point.

I think it's because Killer Instinct's gameplay is so distinct and unique that it's hard to replicate in mugen. The best I've seen is some conversion into the MKP system, but they pale in comparison to the originals.

zombie ryu: he would like evil ryu but more twitchy and zombie like...

Ok this is something I didn't know I wanted until now.

Tony Hawk. Because why not? I might make him as an April Fools' char using his GBC sprites.

This is what I thought when I've read your suggestion. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVtP_YEkEVQ)

Chae Lim, and a good one at that. Chuchoryu's is a firm no, and I saw a half-decent KOF style one but the creator is holding it hostage until they get X amount of subscribers.

You mean this, right? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9xq7ck_tgM&t=80s) I normally do not care about the KOF:MI characters (too wacky for my tastes, even by KoF standards), but Chae Lim is someone I'd like to see POTSized someday. These sprites look like they can be adapted to the CvS graphic style fairly easily. And yeah, 100x better than anything Chuchoryu ever made.

But: There is another idea that would work perfectly with MK Project - characters from Blood Warrior and Survival Arts. Imagine a goofy ass character like the Kappa from Blood Warrior with an MK style game play in MK Project?

Man, I never heard of Blood Warriors and I checked some gameplay videos and, oh boy... I stumbled upon a comment that described my feelings towards that game better than I could ever do: "This is like Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown married and had a brain damaged baby".

2. Kung fu mans Girlfriend

lazy choice, but come on man, its  2020 and it has been far too long for poor ol kfm to be lonely all the time without his love.

I always thought Kung Fu Girl was his girlfriend...

Fully-updated versions of POTS's characters, with Jmorphman's Explodsive buffering system, SmartPal, updated velocities and frame advantage, the works.

You and me both, buddy. This pretty much sums up my mugen wet dreams. I'd love to see someday all the POTS characters we currently have around (or at least, the main ones) standardized and updated to Jmorphman's standards. That's pretty much the reason I started my Ryu project (which I'll finish someday), so I could learn to do this myself.

Mugen needs more Tekken chars.
I hope that someone will make a good Heihachi for Mugen one day. Those latest sprites by Chuchoryu/Lessard are... well... not terrible.
They look kinda fine in game. Or maybe I just want Heihachi so hard that I don't care much about the sprites :) It would be perfect, if he had Byakko's gameplay implemented.

Also, I always wanted to see POTS styled Pepe Rodriguez from ROTD. Although the lack of required sprites could be an obstacle here.

Oh, yeah... and POTS DeeJay - Jzilla's DeeJay is great, but I need a good one in POTS style.

More Pokemon that are decent as opposed to the tradition of them being abysmally awful.

"More" implies some already exist. This. Don't really care what style they are as long as they're fun and not busted, though my preference will always be three-button with chains.

I have another dream character to throw at ya: CvS/POTS Demitri.

Now you'll probably thinking: "are you stupid? Demitri has already been made in this style and he is probably the better DarkStalkers character ever made! You dumb idiot."

But hear me out... CvS Demitri, but with the SNK vs Capcom sprites recolored/repaletted to match the graphic style of CvS (to understand what I mean, have a look at the same thing done to SvC Balrog). (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_rbnKmzqgg) Demitri is at his peak badassery in this game, and honestly I'm tired of seeing the same old DarkStalkers sprites that aged badly compared to the other Capcom ones. Morrigan and Lilith already got their new sprites, the Prince of the Night deserves it too.

Mugen needs more Tekken chars.
I hope that someone will make a good Heihachi for Mugen one day. Those latest sprites by Chuchoryu/Lessard are... well... not terrible.

Agreed. Unfortunately, Chuchoryu is the only one making sprites for Tekken characters (with the exception of Jin and Kazuya), and I already expressed what I think about his stuff. A good Heihachi would be very welcome. If I had to pick some more, I'd say Paul, Hwoarang, Nina and maybe Yoshimitsu. All of them possibly with their T3 looks.

Also, I always wanted to see POTS styled Pepe Rodriguez from ROTD. Although the lack of required sprites could be an obstacle here.
Didn't stop Koldskool from making a POTS-ish Jimmy from Roy2005 version.
POTS/Nightmare Bee style Wishlist
Better Guy (Final Fight/Street Fighter) (Current takes are edits of POTS' pre-22 version)
Alex (Street Fighter 3) (Current takes are edits of Seanaltly's CvTW take)
Better Aensland Sisters with CSed CPS2 sprites (DW's Takes are fine but they use Li-kun sprites's which did not aged well)
Leona with Neo Geo Sprites (Infinite's ver was just the XIII ver) (Orochi Leona/Riot Mode a plus)
Gato and Hotaru Futaba
K' with Neo Geo/XI Sprities (Being work on by Karma)
Galford
Amakusa
Mizuki

zombie ryu: he would like evil ryu but more twitchy and zombie like...

Ok this is something I didn't know I wanted until now.

he would be the coolest and scariest thing ever, his gait would be unnatural and twitchy, instead of shinku hadoken i want him to have the zombie vomit from metal slug:
i want him to have a fatality where he and a bunch of other zombifed SF characters gang up on the opponent and start eating him and shit. the stuff of nightmares...

Just thought of another one, conversions of Ultra Fight Da! Kyanta 2 characters. (Preferably Hisomi or Rogue, Hisomi is epic). I wouldn't be able to fuss with an accurate conversion to save my life, though I'd more than happily make some of the characters in my own style... if the damn sprites and sounds could get ripped already!

The Crow, Michael Myers and Jason all have decent CVS styles sprite sheets made but no ones ever done them justice

I’d love to see someone make good use of chuchoryu’s Mortal Kombat sprites

Also wouldn’t mind a John Wick made. Cable might be a good base.

I would love to see Static Shock and Black Lightning be made one day. BL could easily use Bluestreak as a base

As I said earlier, I'd give a kidney for Eric Draven to be made in mugen. The same guy that made him and Michael Myers also made some Pinhead sprites (https://www.deviantart.com/sil3nt-j/art/Pinhead-Sprite-Sheet-771265431). That, alongside Myers and Jason can be a cool horror pack! Btw, who made the Jason sprites? Must be another guy.

It would be cool to see some Images comic characters like the Wildcats and Savage Dragon done in MVC style. I think that would be interesting. I know there are some like Spawn out there but I do think there could be some really cool additions to that roster.

Here are my dream characters

Most of Granblue Fantasy Versus characters (especially Belial)
Rin Shibuya (Uzuki needs a partner that is playable)
Ren Amamiya/Joker (I heard that there's a WIP of Joker and it's still unfinished yet)
King Dedede (hopefully an OHMSBY Cross Tag style like he did to Kirby)
A better version of Rentaro Satomi (yeah, Kohaku's Rentaro is so hard to do a combo)
UI Son Goku (FighterZ style with 280gou's sprites)
Curly Brace (I know she's a part of Quote’s astral, but she needs to be a playable. hopefully an OHMSBY Cross Tag style)
Marisa Kirisame (Nep Heart Gen 1 style)
Lars Alexandersson (PotS style)
Eltnum/Sion Eltnam Atlasia (OHMSBY Cross Tag or Nep Heart Gen 1 style)
Thief Arthur (OHMSBY Cross Tag style)
Asta (not the JUS one!)

I personally think that the RosenkreuzStilette series isn't represented enough in M.U.G.E.N, or in general for that matter.  I think that the Eternal Fighter Zero style would work best with the characters from that series.

Madoldcrow1101's is the best we've got so far. We're also in need of a Shantae and a Rayman that aren't tiny.  Maybe also Bonk? Giana?

I wonder how a Cammy in CPS-1 style would work, especially an HSF2 one with each previous game included. We've already seen this with Akuma by Felineki, though it would be neat to see more in this vein.

Well, I'd like to share my thoughts on my most wished MUGEN characters, and I'll post my MUGEN wishlist using that one template from DA.

1: Kan'u Unchou (Ikkitousen)
She's my top favorite Ikkitousen character, who has a very interesting characterization and look, so a convertion for MUGEN would be my dream becoming reality.
Kan'u is one character I would love to sprite into a full character, with moveset inspired by her appearance from Senran Kagura Estival Versus, even, I have the written moveset for her so it wasn't hard, and I also made a sprite display on her posted on my sprites thread.

2: Aika Sumeragi (Agent Aika)
She may come from an old anime most of you wouldn't know which is chock-full of panty shots, I watched it, and I wanna see the protagonist for MUGEN.
She's another character I would like to sprite into a full character, with some moves inspired by the anime, but with probably some original ones as her fighting style is like a combination of wrestling and martial arts, so she'll probably have some rivalness to Shermie :P
I also made a sprite display of her on my sprites thread.

3: Ryuko Matoi (Kill la Kill)
Son Bra Is Good's version is a pile of rubbish and that makes me sad cus' I loved Kill la Kill, and I really wanna see a very good Ryuko, with some inspiration by Kill la Kill: IF game, which I play on my Switch.

4. Atsuko Kagari (Little Witch Academia)
I watched the anime last year, and I loved it, so I would love to see Atsuko for MUGEN.
As with Kan'u and Aika, I'd really like to sprite Atsuko as a full character, who I'm also writting a moveset of, with some inspiration from the PS4/Steam game, so she'll have potential.
As with Aika and Kan'u, I also made her a sprite display for my sprites thread.

5. Noire (Neptunia)
Another goddess from the series which I would like to sprite... although that would be more complicated than when I did Neptune due to hard design, and yes, will be another collab with Nep-Heart.

So that's it. Also, I would prefer if I get commissioned for one of these characters, specially my most wanted Atsuko, Kan'u, and Aika, as spriting them would be hard so that would raise my motivation, as I feel like spriting hard characters for free ain't being good for me. Even, I would put prices on them depending on design difficulty, but prices should be equally to the quality as we know, so the best should be done.

I Would like to share my sort of wishlist of my most wished M.U.G.E.N characters at the moment.

1- Sackboy (Little big planet): This Playstation franchise about creativity really stood out at the same time I discovered this engine, and the whole franchise has plenty of potential tools for sackboy to represent it well, with being quite similar to what it was seen in PASBR (the painting gun, grapple hook, the hability to create items, a lot of costumes to make playstation references...)

2- Santa Claus: I'm still quite surprised there are a few santas on M.U.G.E.N, as he's one of the most famous characters in existence.  I recall one promising W.I.P that was being made in this server, that combined a lot of elements from previous Santa Claus's incarnations, but I think that was cancelled a long time ago.

3- Shinnosuke Nohara, Misae and Kazama (Shin Chan) : While Shinnosuke already exists, but while completely accurate to it's the source (an obscure platform-adventure videogame that wasn't released outside Japan), I find it's gameplay completely limited and kinda outdated, especially considering it's one of the longest animes still airing and has plenty of potential due to how many movies, special episodes and videogames exists of him and the two characters I mentioned alongside him.

4- Mortadelo (Mort & Phil): This one is more due to wanting more spanish characters featured in M.U.G.E.N. He is a special agent that his main characteristic is that he can transform into anything with his awesome costumes (for something harmless as a bunny to a dangerous foe like a knight and even managing to transform himself into an entire universe). I got the feeling he would probably would end up looking similar to American's dad Roger, but I can live with it.

5- Many, Many Disney characters (Excluding Kingdom hearts): Guilty pleasure besides, It's always a delight when one is made with original sprites respecting the style of it's source and having great gameplay matching the personalities and habilities/powers of the characters, not to mention, the huge potential of having a disney fighting game that will probably never happen. Right now looking for a neat Donald duck, Goofy, Genie, Stitch, and hobo cookie (from the cookie carnival).

6- King Knight: While enjoying the amazing gameplay of king of cards (I seriously reccomend it), I found out this rutheless and silly king would make for a really interesting moveset for M.U.G.E.N by combining his Heirlooms with the moveset he displays as a boss fight in the other games of the shovel knight franchise.

I've always felt that you could get something from the more human like characters they've made over the years.

1. I feel like he would work pretty well. He's one of my big choices for a Sony character in Smash, even, alongside PaRappa. Ratchet, Sly, and Jak to a lesser extent, mainly as the Battletoads didn't get in Smash.  Would be a good rival for a well-done Steve (and/or Alex).
2. It was the talented ELECTR0 that was doing the Santa, who is now "on hold". A shame, he would have had tons of moves. The only one we really have is Descolor's Alien Challenge conversion.
No comment on 3 and 4, though it is sad very few Bandes-Desinee characters exist and there are only two that can be considered okay. Both of them being conversions from a Konami game.
5. Agreed. A Disney fullgame might be awesome. I could see movesets for characters like Dreamfinder, Dr. Facillier, and many more. I can even think of a good base for the latter. By the way, the "Underworld of Disgrace" would make an awesome stage: https://www.deviantart.com/lord-enemil/art/Disney-s-Underworld-of-Disgrace-598857554
Imagine all the cameos of misbegotten characters we could have in this dark landscape.
6. I'm also hoping for Mona, personally. She's easily the single cutest character in the game, and has some really good moves.

There're various in my personal list, some of them I could make them, but others are only made in my dreams (and doubt if anyone else would do it), however, here's my list:
-SFA Juri Han: One of the few in this that I could do it. As I did in the past with Eagle Zero, I want to see her in SFA style (because CVS/POTS is too overrated, no offense who like/make them, it's a personal opinion). Of course, the only sprites out there are Chuchoryu's, but I'd take the SFF and that's all, all from scratch
-Kung Fu Man 63 1/3: Yeah, a ClayFighter version of KFM, with the combo system, Insane Combos and Claytalities. I got it in plans but I made 0 until now. Another of his list I eventually could make it in a future... and if I could do it, a CF fullgame for MUGEN with my own lifebars and stuff
-More chars from Buriki One: Years before KOFXI, I made Gai Tendo to make him for MUGEN. But since there're only 3 made by SNK (Gai and Silber for KOFXI, Ryo/Mr. Karate II for NGBC), I want to see more chars fro his awesome game, no matter the sprite/gameplay style (KOF, CVS, etc). I'm tempted to edit Kim Kaphwan to make Seo Yongsong, and I like to see other chars like Rob Python, Takato Saionji and Patrick Van Heyting
-More anime chars: Apart of the typical anime franchises, there're a lot of great and classic chars not made even on sprites, like Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop), Shotaro Kaneda (AKIRA), Space Dandy, Eikichi Onizuka (GTO) and so others that could be a great adquisition to MUGEN, IMO

I guess I'll get out the list of my own dream MUGEN characters (and who knows maybe some I'll make myself...once I stop being lazy that is):
Quan Chi from Gameboy Color Mortal Kombat 4: I mean if I would take some sprites and use it to make him than maybe it would be possible and I guess we needed some Gameboy MK reps around here (I know, lame reason).
Sett Ra from Shaq Fu: Surprised no one has made other Shaq Fu characters besides Shaq himself, Sett Ra is what I always thought was a cool mummy warrior type character and if I were to make him and add some custom stuff into him, I probably would do it and he'd be the most badass character around.
Characters from Metal Slug Advance: How come no one made the main characters and Allen Jr.? That's a big mystery cause it'll be great to have Allen Jr. team up with his dad, Allen O'Neal. I'm also curious to see how the bosses from said game would play out (besides playing like boss characters).

It seems to me that Capcom is hinting towards some Arika crossover for the fifth character. It may be wishful thinking on my part, but hey, one can hope! Anyway, this speculation kinda rekindled my interest towards the SFEX/Fighting Layer characters.

In mugen, we already have an excellent CvS Skullomania by Seanaltly, and a fairly good Blair Dame. I'd like to see some other characters done with the same quality, in POTS style. Here's my tops:

Doctrine Dark - he was my main back in the days of SFEX alpha plus, and to this day I think is one of the coolest designs. There's not much to invent in terms of movesets: he has a Scorpion-esque spear move (Dark Wire), a knife-Shoryuken (Kill Wire) and his infamous Ex-Plosive. For Supers, I envision his Kill Trump, Dark Shackle and Ex-Prominence as Lv1/2, and Death Trap as a Lv3 (pretty much as in SFEX2).

Hokuto - here's a character that can easily have two alternate modes, her normal self and her Bloody Hokuto form. A possible difference between the two forms (other than basic move properties as with every evil alternate form) may be her Lv3 Super: Hokuto can have the Shirase Gatana (the naginata one) and her Bloody form can have the Kyoja Renbu (the combo that ends with her piercing the opponent with her bare hand).

Kairi - same as above, I can envision him as having two forms: a SFEX human form, and a SFEX2 corrupted form. In fact, I think the pre-corruption one can be the alternate one, since the corrupted version of him is the iconic one. The primary/corrupted version can be an Akuma-esque overpowered but fragile stereotype, and the alternate/human form can be a more standard and balanced version. I don't think I need to indulge in his moveset since he's basically a shotoclone, but I can see him using the normal Kyoja Renbu in his human form, and the Shun Goku Satsu Kyoja Renbu in the corrupted form, as well as the superpowered Shoki Hatsudo.
EDIT: I know there's a CvS Kairi around, but he's not even near the quality I'd want.

Cracker Jack - as long as it's the EX2 design, I don't particularly like his first design nor his Fighting EX Layer redesign. As with his game appearances, I can see him having some Balrog/Boxer moves as well as his bat. Grand Slam Crusher and Home Run King may be his Lv3s, but let's keep the latter a bit less flashy and scrap the planet-bouncing thing... Oh, and let's get rid of his giant hands as well.

Garuda - who doesn't want the bad samurai demon and TRUE boss of the EX series on Mugen? Street Fighter needs more variety on his bad guys, and Garuda fits a stereotype rarely seen. He's demonic, he has a unique-looking fighting style, he has blades sprouting out of everywhere, he's just begging for a reappearance.

...and now, for something completely different.

CvS Kung Fu Man - I stumbled upon the video below, and I realized I want THIS re-sprited, re-paletted and re-worked in POTS style. Kung Fu Man deserves his spot in every Mugen compilation, and deserves to be graphically on par with his more commercial counterparts. Look at the video yourselves, and tell me you wouldn't want him.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Sweet Tooth - I'm honestly surprised he didn't make any appearance in a fighting game. When he was speculated to be a guest in MKX, I was among the ones hoping for the rumor to be true.
As far as his moveset go, I can see him having some knife based normals, some wacky Joker-esque specials with items and explosives, and some supers involving his ice cream truck. In any case, he's pretty much begging to become a fighting game character. Hell, half of the roster of Twisted Metal can be a fighting game character.

I could see him as a guest in an horror/slasher based game. Something like Terrordrome, but in CvS/POTS style. In fact, let me throw at you my roster wishlist no one asked for:

well, this is my turn of my wishes of characters that I would like to be in mugen.

Ryuko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryuin Reasons? Although, they have already made chars of the two main Kill la Kill waifus (Although with the already overrated POTS gameplay) I would like to see them with BBTAG gameplay (Basically in the style of OHMSBY) or something more like GGXX style.

Sasuke Uchiha I loved the Naruto that Bagilu made, so much so that I would like to see a version of Sasuke with MB gameplay or similar.

Kaijin No Soki I liked Kaiji's gameplay on TVC even though I don't know Onimusha, I'd like to see in some future an adaptation of this character in mugen, Plus, it's extra cool to face him with other Samurais like Masamune from Sengoku Basara, Haohmaru from Samsho and Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin.

Monster Hunter This is the character that has little chance of seeing him in mugen due to the MVCI situation (and who could also end up giving him a totally different gameplay), but it would be great to see an adaptation of her in mugen as it is played in MVCI.

Cerebela We already have Filia, we already have Squigly, Peacock is not there, Valentine is not, Beowulf is not, and no one got to make an adaptation of Cerebela for mugen, I would like to see her like other Skullgirl characters.

Ok, so I have this really weird dream character that all stems from a childhood obsession with his franchise:

Tenderheart Bear from the Care Bears. Yes, I'm serious. This isn't some edgy parody version either, my vision for him is that he's mostly true to the loving and kind self he is and doesn't really want to hurt you, but is simply forced to fight because this is a fighting tournament. To anyone who's actually insane enough to do this, my preferred sprite style would lean towards CvS (There is a GBA game and maybe some games on obscure edutainment consoles but those are hardly enough for a fighting game). As for gameplay, I would like something CvS based (maybe even straight up PoTS) but something more custom could work.

If I were making him, I'd try to have both a Normal and EX mode: The Normal mode is based on the 80s versions, and uses his magic tummy symbol a lot. He can be able to make heart-shaped (of course) projectiles, use a cloud car (yes I'm serious), call assists that would be a mix of fellow bears and Care Bear Cousins, and of course the Level 3 super's gotta be the classic Care Bear Stare. EX mode is more based on later versions, specifically "Adeventures in Care-a-Lot" with a mix of the movies from the early 2000s. This version doesn't use the tummy symbol most of the time, but relies more on physical athletic moves, being more of a daredevil. His assists also don't feature the Care Bear Cousins. A lot of work would need to be done due to basically no sprites being available (though again, some inspiration could be taken from that one GBA game) and more of a moveset would need to be developed beyond my rough ideas, but still, this would be quite... something.

Dynasty Warriors Series - let it be Lu Bu or Zhao Yun we need them in some forum for gods sakes.

Serious Sam - I said this years ago and I will say it again, we still need one.
That's it for now.

I could help engineer this moveset:

Statistically, Tenderheart is well... tender, with sloppy offensive and defensive stats, though with a defensive slant. His basic moves aren't too much to write home about, either. His backdash is surprisingly swift, though, good for getting away from enemies. In EX mode, this backdash becomes a hop, allowing him to perform a quick attack as a getaway. Basic attacks are used to combo into his Unique Attacks, a playstyle more emphasized in EX mode. From there, his heart projectiles are used as the combo enders, more focused on stunning a foe for a combo than dealing damage. He can also use the cloud car as another combo ender, recommended as his projectiles are otherwise anti-air oriented, opening him up for juggle opportunities. His real strength, however, lies in his ability to utterly swarm the battlefield with helpers. He can have up to 5 helpers on-screen at a time. Within this strength also lies weakness; each helper can survive only a set number of hits.  Every helper he loses, his Level 3 loses its power. If his Level 3 has all helpers able to aid, it is at its most powerful, but it makes barely a splash if he has lost too many partners in battle. Each helper has a different purpose, as well, anything from setting traps to healing.

EX mode has far more Unique Attacks for the purposes of lengthy combos. This makes up for the fact his helpers have diminished in number (Maybe use characters from the "Care Bears Ripoffs" of the 80s like Little Clowns of Happytown?) and his stats remain poor.  He is also able to dodge in a variety of ways, allowing him to bob and weave outta trouble. His projectile remains an anti-air move, but gains a more grounded, if close-range, counterpart. I could see at least one mode have a belly dive like Cheng Sinzan, along with a Super version.

Now this is what I like to see! I pretty much agree with all of these ideas, way better than anything I may have been able to come up with. A note about the EX version's assists though, I'd rather just stick to using actual CB characters, but I like the idea of there being less of them.

Update: I'm making a custom version of Rogue now, lol.
J's also making a pseudo-CvS version with some source accurate fun, so there's that too.

Might make Hisomi afterwards, who knows!

Anyways, his EX mode would rely on Target Combos, and would have around 5 distinct ones with various levels, sorta like SF5. His input for his anti-air projectile is an RDP, and the strength determines the angle. The EX version would be freely aimable. In EX Mode, the EX version deals multiple hits, but moves as a sine wave. His other moves in normal mode require charge inputs, except his myriad of helpers and his Level 3. His helpers will use any attack button for a variety of helpers (not sure about the input, QCF? QCB? RQCF?/Annu Mutsube?). The Belly Badge Meteor is a hold down, then up+punch move.  The strength determines the height, and the EX version does multiple hits and knocks down. This move works as an overhead. Cloud Car is hold back, then forward + punch.  Strength determines the distance. The EX version goes in an arc. For his other supers, the Super Combo version of his projectile (QCBx2+P) is a spread-shot, with the total number of volleys determined by strength, with the level 3 being 3 total volleys of 3. The Super Combo belly drop (Delta charge+P) does multiple bounces before a final strike. The number of bounces are based on strength. His Super Combo Cloud Car (Hold back, then F,B,F+P) has him drive by multiple times. The Level 3 ends with the car jumping on the downed target. His Care Bear Stare uses (F, HCF+P+K) input.

Don't know about what additional supers he'd have in EX mode, though I see a cartwheel as a charge B, F + K move.

I had a few ideas for Disney characters, mostly villains (of course).

Maleficent: In Fantasy Strike, there's a character named Midori who can change into a dragon when the meter is full... so, why not take that idea and run with it for her Level 3 super. She'll have super armor during that move and access to a new Super (Hell's Flame), but it does cut the timer in half if you use this move. Outside of her Dragon form, she's a keep away character who uses her spells and Diablo (her Raven) to help build meter. Remember, the goal is to reach her Dragon form.

Gaston: Dude has always been a bit of a meathead.. which makes the perfect brawler type of character. If anything, Rambo in MK11 Ultimate might provide a decent blueprint for him (save for the traps). Gaston wants to get up close and beat you with those biceps that are the size of a barge. He also has a bow for some keep away.

Hades: Gargos in the KI reboot provides the blueprint for Hades... but with a twist. While Gargos has pretty competent lackeys, Hades does not. While he can summon Pain and/or Panic to do something, there is a 25% chance of either character NOT doing their move. This allows Hades to just toss the incompetent bums at his foes. Of course, once thrown or used, the lackeys have a cool down timer that lasts about 15 in game seconds. Outside of that, he's a short range zoner.

Dr. Facilier: Being the 'Shadow Man', it's obvious who his inspirations would be - Part Glacius from the KI reboot and part Voodoo from War Gods. The Glacius part comes from the idea that he can use his shadow men to attack from long range. The Voodoo part comes from some of the move set he will have: A 'snake grab' that will get him closer, a rain of nails, and so forth.

It's weird, the Garou characters are among the most CvS-looking ones in the snk games, yet most of them are pretty much ignored. I'd like a good Gato and Freeman too. Especially Freeman, dude is underrated.

About KFM, I was thinking about trying to make him myself, after I've finished butchering Ryu.

Not gonna lie, you're making me wanna see this in reality. Those are all very good ideas! How about Jafar and Chernobog?

Title: Re: Your dream MUGEN characters!
Post by: Seadragon77 on October 23, 2020, 05:14:08 pm
In the case of Jafar, he would be like Maleficent.. but instead of a dragon form, he has a genie form. In that form, he has a completely new move set that allows him to use those 'phenomenal cosmic powers'. Outside of that mode, Jafar plays much like Maleficent. The differences are very simple: While Diablo is meant to be more like Mamahaha (Nakoruru's hawk), Iago is meant to be more like Strider's hawk: He can be used to drop certain items on the foe in a special move and can be used in a Level 1 Super.

Chernobog is a final boss, plain and simple. A character that huge and that powerful cannot be playable unless you drop 25 nerf hammers on his head. As the final boss, he's basically Blackheart on steroids... maybe some high powered illegal steroids.

Some other characters for this idea building include...

Ratigan: Even though I've never seen the Great Mouse Detective, I want to do Ratigan justice because he's basically a rat version of famed villain Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes fame, but he was voiced by Vincent Price (BTW, the characters would be using voice clips from their respective movies). Ratigan is a cross between brawler and grappler as he can get up close with his strength and has some decent throws. His key move is a Level 2 Super called 'Ratigan's Rage'. It starts as a counter move where Ratigan counters any high normal attack. Upon doing so, the opponent calls him a 'rat'. This triggers Ratigan... this brings in a timer that lasts for 15 in game seconds and gives him a 10% boost in speed and strength.

Peg Leg Pete: Pete is this game's Dan. Plain and simple.

Judge Doom: Imagine if Disney made Faust instead of Arc System Works. That's my idea for Judge Doom... in fact, the 'wild card' aspect goes all the way to his key move - a Level 3 Super called 'The Dip'. It works similar to an Instant Kill move in the first Guilty Gear game: You do the motion, the opponent has a chance to counter it by doing the same motion. If the opponent gets it, then the move ends with no harm to either side. If you don't get it, then it goes to a 2nd phase where Doom grabs his foe by the throat and holds them over a vat of 'The Dip'. The opponent now has another chance to counter the move. If done correctly, the opponent gets out of the move with a special animation (For example, Hades would summon Panic to basically run into the back side of Judge Doom; Maleficent would summon Diablo to hit him; etc.). If not... then it's Game Over as 'The Dip' is indeed an Instant Kill move.

I imagined Pete as less "Dan Hibiki" and more "Cheng Sinzan"; though some Dannish traits could remain, like the berserk combos. He'd feature things like arcing projectiles, a belly dive, a rolling attack, and other methods of tossing his weight around.  A unique aerial or two could set him apart, I could see a "Flutter Kick" like FCF Mario. His projectile could serve as a trap after it has finished its arc of motion, making foes slip on the ground. I could see another Unique Attack that serves as a sweep that can easily be cancelled into his belly drop.

I agree about Chernabog as final boss, though I could see a first phase where he sends henchmen after you.

Having the whole CVS2 roster done by Mr.Infinite and the whole melty blood roster done by Sennou-Room. No offence to anybody who tries to imitate Infinite's work but I feel like the only ones that can do characters truly in this style is Infinite himself and Sennou-Room since their work feels more solid to me at least in my opinion.

Oh shit. Well ... When I started messing around with mugen in 2009 I used to write wishlists in class on blank papers lol. I used to have a thousand wishes, but I'll try to pick out some.

Helena Douglass - Helena from Dead or Alive in CVS type of style, maybe DivineWolf style, really. Always enjoyed her fighting style, and I envisioned her smoothly to transition well. Those quick jab punches and Ling Xiaoyu-esque pose transitions would be interesting to be done well in Mugen.

Damnd/Trasher - First boss of Final Fight. Since most FF bosses has been made into mugen and the SF series in general I always had a soft spot for the bosses that never crossed over, and Damnd I feel is iconic enough and could be interessting. I envision the SFA or MVC type of sprites, and could be both styles gameplay vise if anything. I envision him being a true knockdown type of brawler.

James Bond - I have always loved the Bond franchise, and I find it incredible that there is not made a good Bond yet. Or at least a 2D Bond. Imagining all the gadgets from all the films to draw inspirations from. Hand to hand combats, and weapons. I don't care too much which Bond would have the face, but something here would be epic! If for any reason there should be "assist", why not add Oddjob's hat throw, Jaws brute strenght or some Baron Sembadi vodoo action?

Here is my dream MUGEN character list:

* Some more Kinnikuman Muscle Fight characters. The existing complete characters (Werewood's Kinnikuman, SUGIO's Brocken Jr., FUJY's Akuma Shogun and The Magic Toaster's Cubeman and Prisman) are all kinds of awesome with impressive moves and fun gameplay. Werewood planned to make more characters (Terryman, Robin Mask, Brockenman, Ashuraman, Buffaloman, Ramenman, Warsman, Meat-kun, and a Throne arc Kinnikuman), but he disappeared from the Earth before he could finish them. Imagine how hype a Neptuneman, Super Phoenix, True Akuma Shogun or a Strong the Budo character could be in Saltybet! Similarly, someone should make characters out of his Stroheim (HTTF styled with EOH voices) and Cobra sprite rips from the same game. (As well as a non-JUS Tsurugi Momotaro from Otokojuku, Maam from Dai no Daibouken (might need to wait until the new game comes out) and Taro Yamada)

* A proper, non-JUS, non-spriteswapped version of Narancia from JoJo. Every other member of Team Bucciaratti has been made except for him, which is kind of a glaring omission in my eyes. Either a Capcom HTTF styled character with inspiration from the PS2 Vento Aurou game and ASB, or a plain old ASB character like amarimano's recent characters would be fine in my book. Maybe the Torture Dance could work as a winpose or a Shun Goku Satsu-styled hyper combo?

* Similarly, a non-JUS, non-spriteswapped version of Gappy, aka Josuke Part 8 from JoJo. With amarimano's recent release of Jolyne, he's the only JoJo not available in MUGEN. His Soft and Wet Stand could make for a fun moveset. Maybe palletes 1-6 would be Josuke and palletes 7-12 would be Kira, complete with Killer Queen" (sprites taken from amarimano's Part 4 Kira)

* A CPS1 SF2 Balrog/Boxer based on his Hyper Fighting moveset. We only have a boss version from World Warrior and a SSF2T version out there. With KAZ's HSF2 Dhalsim out, he's the only character left without a CPS1 version available for MUGEN.

* You know what's crazy? Despite being one of the pinnacles of the Neo Geo fighting game library, we still don't have every character from Samurai Shodown 1 and 2 available in MUGEN. A more polished SS1 Haohmaru, Charlotte and Nakoruru (from both 1 and 2), a SS1 Hanzo, Jubei and Kyoshiro and a SS2 Ukyo would complete
the classic SamSho roster.

* Choujin-styled versions of these DBZ characters:
** Super Vegeta (Using the sprites from the arcade DBZ2)
** Gogeta (Using the Shin Butoden sprites)
** SSJ3 Goku (Using the Shin Butoden sprites)
** Kid Buu (Using the Ultimate Butoden sprites)
** Beerus (Using the Ultimate Butoden sprites)
** SSG Goku (Using either heavily edited DBZ arcade sprites or the Extreme Butoden sprites)
** Android 13 (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)
** Tapion (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)
** Pui Pui (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)
** A Saibaman (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)
** Chichi (Using ohgaki's spritework)
** Hit (Using the Extreme Butoden assist sprites as a base)

Imagine how hype a Neptuneman, Super Phoenix or Strong the Budo character could be in Saltybet! Similarly, someone should make characters out of his Stroheim (HTTF styled with EOH voices) and Cobra sprite rips from the same game.

* Simularly, a non-JUS, non-spriteswapped version of Gappy, aka Josuke Part 8 from JoJo. With amarimano's recent release of Jolyne, he's the only JoJo not available in MUGEN.

* A CPS1 SF2 Balrog/Boxer based on his Hyper Fighting moveset. We only have a boss version from World Warrior and a SSF2T version out there. With KAZ's HSF2 Dhalsim out, he's the only character left without a CPS1 version available for mugen.

** Jiren (Using custom spritework)
** Kefla (Using chochuryu's sprites)
** Android 21 (Using chochuryu's sprites)

Pretty good! I'm pretty ok with these Choujin version characters ^^

also, about Boxer, you're right, perhaps it would not be that hard to downgrade the SSF2X version into SF2 version, then swapping sounds, old sprites etc.

Roy and Chrom by Nep Heart using their sprites made by RMVGames

Lol, I'm not really interested in Fire Emblem, but even then, RMVGames' sprites aren't good either.

I agree on the latter. That would be an interesting turn. Maybe even for Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter/Fighting Vipers/Last Bronx, or Bloody Roar. Not sure how you could translate games like Power Stone or War Gods, though.

Some ideas I had for Dreamfinder: Figment is an inseperable part of his moveset; used for many moves, much like Mamaha, Poppy, etc, including a mode where he actively copies Dreamfinder's moves for a Dark Force similar to Morrigan's. He would also have supers similar to Beat Plane and Rush Drill based around his vehicles and those of the ride. Maybe one like Jin's Blodia gun super, as well. I want to have the vanishing butterfly in his moveset in some form too, and maybe we can throw Nigel Channing in an intro.  Maybe elements of other early EPCOT attractions (Up to Mission: Space, which could be a level 3) added into his moves?

Another obscure one I want to see is Hildy from The 7D. For some reason, I really like the "domineering female+henpecked husband" team up deal. I could see a move akin to Finishing Shower being used, as well as other dark magic attacks. I would see Grim having 5 possible helper attacks players can make use of; 3 costing half a bar and 2 costing a full bar.

If I had to choose one character, it would be a Mega Lucario for sure. We have a fuck ton of Lucarios and a half-decent Riolu. And I'm still a little flabbergasted no one has made Mega Lucario yet.

I now have a couple more Disney ideas now that I think about it.

Br'er Fox: His character style would be similar to Sodom from Punisher Warzone, and my previous Hildy Gloom idea; where he's reliant on Br'er Bear as a tag partner who could perform multiple tag team actions; using his club, snares, a body slam, a head charge attack, and even a grapple. Br'er Fox himself is a crafty but slow attacker somewhat akin to Ingrid or Cable; using his axe as a weapon to swing or fling at his enemy, and also using the beehive from Splash Mountain as a trap.  Perhaps Br'er Rabbit could be incorporated into a move similar to Jill Valentine's zombies? His level 3 would be a tag-team piledriver down Chickapin Hill into the briar patch for a brutal splash.  He gets stuck for a bit, leaving an opening for any enemy not finished off by it.

Namaari: Using her shortsword similar to Jeanne D'arc (World Heroes), she's able to perform crafty combos, alternating with more dirty fighting when at close range, with plenty of slaps and shoves. She also uses her crossbow for a projectile. One of her moves has her call on her raiders to attack with a powerful charge from afar, launching projectiles as they trample her foe.

Raya: And yeah, Raya herself would need to be added as a counterpart to Namaari. Raya is somewhat more principled, and less armed. She uses Tuk-Tuk to roll over her foes, with Tuk-Tuk being able to supply a Dark Force where he's perpetually rolling around, with players being able to move to trample their foe. Might be able to also use Boun as another partner, able to use axe attacks as well as a bear hug grapple.

Kida: Kida would use her staff similar to how characters like Gambit do, but is also able to use magic similar to that of Zelda. Some of Team Atlantis would also show up, for example Mole would be a good partner for her. Other moves have her use that fish bike from the movie.

I have, like, a million different dream characters honestly lol, but my most desired ones are kinda more about the concept of the character than the character itself. Like here's one I've thought about making for a while:

A magic fighter that charges spells and places them as staves on the field, which they can then use. It's kinda hard to explain so I'll describe it like this; MVC3 Dormammu, if he had more than 2 power charges, and he could put all his charges into a rod that he then placed on the field, like Litchi from BlazBlue. Then, he could use a special that activates the spell from the rod. So if you charged a small explosion, then placed it in the rod, your special would then cause the rod to produce the explosion where the rod was, then the rod would be used up.

Then you could expand the idea of how all the combinations of the spell charges work, and make the placement of the rod improtant to how the spell works. Like, maybe one spell produces an acid cloud that drains health, so having them placed on the opponent is extremely important. Or you have a spell where when you activate it, the character actually teleports to the position of the rod, so having the rod be placed behind the opponent can set up some nasty cross-up ideas.

I think the project would take ages, but allows space for tons of creativity. And let's face it, no triple A fighting game would make such a complicated character (it'd be a balancing hell), but I think it's the kind of idea that works perfectly for something as strange as MUGEN

3. Incineroar (Pokemon)
4. Feraligatr (Pokemon)
5. Vision (Marvel)

Bayonetta. Bayonetta.

I've seen some wicked looking CvS Bayonetta sprites that would look awesome as a full set. Maybe it could even be done in JtheSaltyy's CvS Reimagined style to be a fellow Smash-inspired character alongside Wario.

I've also thought of reviving the idea of Popee from Popee the Performer as a character. I should build my moveset ideas some more, maybe get a full sheet commissioned from that one sprite I did. Would be really fun.

I have a model available for 1.0 :) :

My dream characters mostly contain characters using OhMsBy’s style. Which they are: Naoto Shirogane, Kanji Tatsumi, Chie Satonaka, Elizabeth, Aigis, Margaret, and Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4 Arena Ultimix. Makoto Nanaya, Noel Vermillion, Rachel Alucard, Nu-13, Bullet, Litchi, Celica A. Mercury, Jubei and Taokaka from Blazblue.

They’re all that I hope get finished

At this point, I would just like some chars that are closer to reality by that I mean have the sprites, CS, etc..in the proper POTS style (DW/Karma/Jman) mold with the buffer systems and all that cool stuff, those are really a treat to use.

In general, MVC chars, 3rd strike and SNK chars.

Basically, the same.
But I would stick to SF3.3, MOTW, KOF(unconverted in POTS)... about MVC, it would be only for few Capcom unconverted ones.

Also, I have the wish to see a more "complete" version of POTS Blaze with SOR3/4 Lookalike design and FF7's Tifa with CVS type graphics.
Both of them are some of the numerous POTS projects I would like to do, but since coding is not my best skill, it will certainly take half a decade. ^^;

The requests I'm making are of characters that IMO are out of my reach in terms of spriting and whatnot but I'd love to see them become reality:

-A good Nidoking (IMO he'd fit right in line with the Gladiacloud Pokemon characters)
-On the topic of Pokemon, several featured in Pokken but have like no MUGEN representation at all like Decidueye, Suicune, Aegislash, Croagunk etc.
-Jak and Daxter and a Ratchet and Clank with better sprite work that's not from that mobile game.

I'm more interested in characters not already in or from Fighting games because that's what I came to MUGEN for personally, though on the topic of Fighting-game fighters, conversions of the cast of the newer Touhou fighters would be nice. I like those sprites a lot. (Also want more Kyanta 2 stuff but apparently ripping from that game is currently quite a tedious process)

But, never been a fan of the gameplay--- (I'm kinda a succ at it)

Soo...

Would really like a Kyo, Kula, K, Ralf, Clark or Leona in either Sennou-Room's Infinite Style or OhMsBy’s style, since find it more fun and easy to play with.

An amazingly made Amaterasu from Okami. I know there's one around on the internet but another one with more fluid movement and great looking attacks would be amazing.
Oki, Ninetails, Susano, Waka,Yoichi, one of the canine warriors, princess Fuse, Blight, Crimson Helm, priestess Rao, Lechku/Nechku would also be cool as well.
Yami boss based on his third form from TvC.
Firebrand and Arma based on the DC game on snes.  (can be Pots)
Characters from Muramasa the Demon Blade: Kisuke Momohime, Yukinojo, Okoi etc etc. (also Pots)
Trio de dangers/Bergamo from the Z2 team. That teaser image from one of the members left me hopeful.

ohohohoho, you are speaking my language here!! i have a looong list of moveset ideas for various pokemon that i’ve been working on since i fell in love with gladiacloud’s stuff way back when. i love the idea of getting a good nidoking! i’ve written out ideas for gligar, sneasel, dusclops, blastoise, electivire, pangoro, hypno, scyther, scizor, clawitzer, heatmor, galarian slowbro, toxicroak, and deoxys. if i ever manage to make any of them, that’d be a miracle, because i’d probably not be satisfied with them unless they REALLY looked like gladiacloud’s style.
i also totally agree with you on your second point, i much prefer seeing characters that don’t originate from fighting games. the first character i downloaded was duck hunt dog by DJ HANNIBALROYCE and my taste was just kind of set from there. i’d love to see more kirby characters and good mario characters, and i’d also like to see people try and figure out how to replicate the Fighting Is Magic animation style so we can get some more moku-styled MLP characters! actually, i’d just like to see more decently made cartoon characters in general. it seems like non-fighting game characters just don’t get as much respect…

I do have a few characters I'd like to see in Mugen.

1. a few characters from Skullgirls, namely Big Band, Ms. Fortune, Eliza, Beowulf, Peacock, Double, Fukua, and Bloody Marie.

2. I know there's been quite a few Resident Evil characters floating around. But I'd like to see some representation from RE: Village. Mostly either Lady Dimitrescu or Karl Heisenberg.

3. seeing as a few characters exist in Mugen from Freedom Planet, I'd like to see Milla Basset, Captain Torque, Spade, and Serpentine show up in Mugen.

4. I know Omega Psycho was working on these guys but I'd like to see good versions of the following MK characters for Mugen. MK2 Raiden, Kabal, Stryker, Sindel, and Sheeva

Xeno Goku, moveset based around his Power Pole. Similar in function to someone like Billy Kane. He'd of course have  all the basic Goku shit, Kamehamehas, Spirit Bomb, Kaioken. Super Saiyan 1-4, and LBSSJ4. Preferably in a Extreme Botuden, or CvS art style.

For the longest time, I've been wanting a character that plays like an actual RPG character, and unfortunately, the only character that seems to actually be an RPG character (enforces that kind of gameplay) is a Fire Emblem character, which only exists on SaltyBet. -_- So unfortunately, it'll probably be a while before we get an actual turn-based RPG enforcing character again.
