Thanks for the feedback guys, here's a much more toned down CS:

That definitely looks more manageable, although I did like his legs and speedo thing separated out from the first template.  Looks fuckin sweet either way.

I think the straps were good because you can make a palette like the one you showed based on his appearance in KOF XIII. Pants were interesting too because you could play like he's wearing boots and things like that. They're the only things I'd separate too based on this latest color separation you've just posted.

As difficult as it seems, the first color separation you showed was good, complicated but good after all. I agree with DW about what he said as well. But if you don't want to do it, it's ok. It's up to you.

Like I said before, I'd do those changes in that latest template, pants and straps may be separated too.

Yeah. The legs, speedo and the pseudo mini shirt like it looks in the palette Flowrellik posted that looks like zangief should be good enough to be creative and manageable at the same time.

Perhaps some minor marks, but no more than that!

I could do some palettes when a final version of the template is reached, even though I dislike that spriteset.

The manageable CS was great, but I wish Froz kept the separation for one of his straps. Would have removed the need to make a CvS Raiden with his KoF XIII sprites. But looking good, though! :)

OK, so the basic separation is done (shown in my previous post). I now need you guys to decide which separation shall I go with:

Spoiler: A (click to see content)
Spoiler: B (click to see content)
Spoiler: C (click to see content)
Spoiler: D (click to see content)

Going up with the option D. While the top suit separation to have 2 different colored sides is pretty damn neat, I find it that is pretty unnecessary. I sincerely dont see myself coloring the 2 half differently.

Looking forward to it.

I personally say B but that is excessive for someone like Raiden imo

Having the once sided shoulder strap isn't all too important to me neither is having those straps separate from the main body, but everything else look good. I guess I'm going with D.

I'm trying to figure out what's up with the lightning that stretches from his belly to his thigh. Does it have a unique index for the underwear separation or is it the same as the rest of the thigh?

It's the same as the rest of his thigh, but I realized it looks VERY inconsistent with the other sprites that have the same separation. I'll make it look more stable when the final template is decided. While I sit through the votings, I whipped up another template:

I'm planning to CS the holy trinity of wrasslin' (R. Mika being the third).

How you make the CS palettes and organize them is beyond me. Also, the Zangief CS is great. Subtle and to the point. ;)

Oh, a zangief separation. I remember we had a discussion regarding how ridicously difficult will it be to get Hair parts to look consistent without reshading them in the process... Ive tried to do so... it has been impossible, Id rather separate a Spiral.

It looks pretty neat in your take though but dunno.

Future WIP. Also, how's the CS? Yay, nay, shmurple??

Also, does anyone know how to index the CS palette if your starting a CS from scratch? I'm really new to the idea, so I'm not sure (also not sure if I was supposed to ask this question here).
