Oh really? I knew the suit made him taller but I thought it was in more in lines of an exosuit at this point. If that's the case, he might want to change that one intro of him putting on his suit if he's going to use it.

Still got a ways to go but i'm adding this to EWMs color separation patch.

Quick question, How do i move colors on the palette table with out screwing up the palette itself?
Trying to make it like the palette in the example image below.

If there's no repeated colors in the palette, open Advanced Palette Editor, go to the palette you want to apply to the sprite (don't worry if it looks messed up), click "Adapt image to match the colors of the palette", it should show the right colors, save the image and re-insert it, replacing the old one.

Magus's Ironman has so many awesome moves and I love Zvitor's red lazer attack. Man... it's hard going back to playing original Ironman.

The color possibilities would be endless. Kudos on including that move.

Also something looks off about his height near Yamazaki. I was thinking he should be shrunk down a bit to almost the exact height of Yamazaki. That's just me though.

Title: Re: Iron Man
Post by: Graphicus on September 13, 2018, 05:12:37 am
I'd be willing to animate that stance properly if someone could get me a high quality looping gif of him standing still in MvC3. Having to go back and forth looking at a video is a pain in the butt.

EDIT: Looked it up and he barely moves at all. I guess I can make something out of that. No GIF needed.

Um, not really. Though you may have to re-separate the stance all over again. Sorry about that.

EDIT: Here you go! Hope you like it (it's hard doing such subtle movement. You need really good sub-pixel shading skills, which I'm not amazing at).

It's not that hard, I think, if you wanna make it just like the Hulk Buster dash. Would just need to add the grey colors to the template.

Can I help a little, by CSing this anim? If you still intend to implement it, that is.

Is there a easier way of adapting palettes without recoloring the whole thing again ?

Yes, there is. Open the template as an image on the left side and your image of the palette that you made on the right and just transfer the right side to the left.

Watching this come to life is an interesting watch. I loved the custom aspects of Magus’ and ZVitor’s versions over the original MVC version and currently use the duracelleur version that mixes the 2 due to the hypers so I cant wait to see how this further develops

Maybe I'm a bit nitpicky, but IMHO those hulkbuster sprites clash pretty badly with the rest of Ironman's spriteset. I can say the same thing about that Tony Stark sprite.

Anyway, I wish you good luck with this project, RedBrink.

Hey, that shouldn't be a reason to stop making your own version of it. Even then because I was aiming for a "raw metal" look on that, rather than white & gold.

I agree.

I feel kind of reluctant posting this sprite because I can't really promise anything will come off it. If you like it, I'll try replicating the attack animation you already have, but with this new sprite. Don't go replacing it just yet, since I don't know if I'll have much time to work on it. If I do, It'll be open source, of course.

A thought occurs to me, not to increase your work load, but as a use for that already previously done Hulkbuster if there are other alternative sprites of Tony's other Iron Man suits that there are only a handful of, not useful for actual gameplay but well done for what they are, throwing them all into a winpose with him changing outfits, showing off his various armors.  Similar to Hyper DBZ's SSJ Goku, where he has a winpose with him chasing some randomized cameo each time.

Alternatively, something along the lines of mimicking the third movie, a winpose with him summoning the whole army of various suits to him for him to show off while he's standing there out of the suit.  You can have the old Hulkbuster just standing there amongst the crowd.

Here's a preview of what I have so far. I couldn't make up my mind on how to have the armor spawn, so I've done two variations. One with a grid (and armor colors) and one without (and energy colors). The first option seems too noisy to me. Maybe the best option would be no grid with armor colors? I'll let you decide.

(https://i.imgur.com/eJwp5Gm.gif) (https://i.imgur.com/YsGJjsi.gif)

(I also wanted him to put on the armor movie-style, but it was too much work and would've made the animation last waaaay too long, so I just had the helmet do that thing as a compromise).

I'm almost done. Just need to clean up the teleportation ring in a few frames, shade a few frames and have him shake a little as he's dashing forward.

For the dashing effect, you can appropriately use Hulk's dash move wind effect. It works perfectly.

hulkbuster is looking fantastic. I would pick the second option. reasons being that it would be easier to CS compared to the first one. Plus I could separate the energy grid from the sprites and use it as an explod like the wire frame for the old hulkbuster.

Make the colors a bit brighter (or sample the colors from existing MVC/CPS2 sprites) to match the vibrant tone of the CPS2 sprite style. Other than that, it's perfect.

So i think with the some erasing, explods and some human ingenuity i might be able to make this as an intro.
Basically another version of zvitors armor intro.

i would take the sprite below (and the armor pieces that assemble for the intro) and erase tiny increments of the sprites and save them as new frames for the intro.

Hey, new update. Almost done (just need to finish shading one frame and draw another).

I've changed the suiting-on animation again. It just didn't look right because it had no basis in existing CPS2 animations. Thankfully, the answer was right in front of my face the whole time, dumb me.

I just replicated the effect of how he summons his Proton Cannon!

(https://i.imgur.com/j7qGkCz.gif)

Now there can be no argument saying it doesn't look CPS2-ish (from me, mainly) because it's exactly what Capcom did.

I'm probably not going to replicate the disappearing animation (it's much more complex), so I suggest having him dash off-screen then falling from the sky, if that makes any sense.

Okay, so I'm basically done. The sprite I mentioned I still had to draw would be a "shake" sprite for the end of the animation (when he's charging) so he's not completely static as he's dashing forward, but... I don't even know if it's fully needed since he's going to have this whole dashing effect on top (not shown in the GIF but it is in the sheet).

Below is a GIF using all the finished frames as well as a spoilered spritesheet. If you need the "materialization" FX sprites without iron man inside, let me know (I drew them on a different layer anyway). I just left it as-is because there's only one way to align Iron man with the armor (the head sticks out).

(https://i.imgur.com/HsbnhCu.gif)

Spritesheet:
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Something else: You see those three frames where the armor is lighter? I didn't just brighten up the sprites in software because that would add colors to the palette. What I did instead was cycle the colors so that each color would use a progressively lighter and lighter shade in the existing palette (what was once the lightest color would no longer be needed and just become "white". I didn't know if this would be helpful or not, but I hope it is.

Um... don't hate me, but I think I'll make one last change. I don't exactly like the way the mask sort of flaps onto his face. Kinda makes it seem like one of those trash bins with the foot pedal that opens the lid. I'll quickly edit it tomorrow to have it go down as a visor, more in tune with the way it works in the movies (like a bicycle helmet's visor, basically).

You can color separate the rest body for the time being, if you want. I'm positive I'm not changing that.

I'm definitely interested. tony looks great!
Thank you.

Make the colors a bit brighter (or sample the colors from existing MVC/CPS2 sprites) to match the vibrant tone of the CPS2 sprite style. Other than that, it's perfect.
Thanks man. Although it's supposed to be that dark though. Custom colors are complicated... Anyway it's CS'ed.

Some moves like weak punch for example Will not fit well with this stance (see on iron man mix by Duracelleur)

I just gotta ask...why are his pauldrons/shoulders different colors? I'm guessing it's suppose to be to create a depth effect like one is in shadow or something, but his legs are both the same color negating this effect and in every palette I've seen made the color difference really stands out and looks silly. Why not just make them the same color in the CS...it would look SO much better...in my opinion.

I don't think you understand what CS (Color Separation) is. The colors shown is not supposed to be a palette used in-game. The parts are different so when people make palettes, they know what colors to use for that part of the character's palette. By making it the same, you are merging the colors together and will change both the pauldrons/shoulders instead of one or the other. People can't make unique palettes if you restrict them.

This right here, if you put restrictions on it, you can't get many options and you get stuck with plain looking palettes.

All of Iron Man's sprites have his background limbs appearing darker than his foreground limbs. Same thing with the leg, but to a lesser extent. I kept that in my sprites for the sake of consistency.

The palettes do seem a bit TOO dark, tho, and I'm not sure why. It doesn't look that harsh with the default colors I used when I posted the sprite but most of the palettes posted have a significant difference (you can especially tell in the armors that are all a single color).

Maybe the shades are misaligned in the palette template? or on my sprite? Maybe every shade is supposed to be moved one space towards the next lighter shade? (It looked fine when I was using the default colors, but maybe there are two colors that were very similar and I messed up? Either way let me know).

The issue is only with the Hulkbuster's left arm. My advice is that you move over each of the colors in that arm over to its very next lighter shade. If it still looks too dark, then maybe move it two shades over instead.

Does that make sense? I can do it for you, if you need.

Title: Re: Iron Man
Post by: Graphicus on October 09, 2018, 10:15:20 pm
I think so, yeah. I checked my original shading again, just to be sure and it's fine after all. I based the shading on the first frame you see in that animation and they use the same colors, so neither of us "screwed up", technically.

The problem is that the difference is more abrupt when his arm is thicker, so compensating for that by going one shade lighter is a good compromise.

A palette from me - Iron Man 1 (Mark III)
(https://orig00.deviantart.net/b397/f/2018/282/6/3/ironman1_by_danielmatheus-dcp0wny.png)

So you guys are talking about a palette cycle issue. Here's the thing, In the 2 sprites in the first column on the left look at the tights, chest and boots, they are lighter than the other sprites. Also, I think the heavy artillery sprites have a very dark line, it's clashing with the rest of the sprites.

I need some help with scaling.

I have to use the Xscale & Yscale in the system file to scale him. however his stance is taller then his other sprites so i have a separate Angle Draw in his -2 States to scale his stance. The issue i'm having is just for 1 tick he uses the Xscale & Yscale and then after that 1 tick he uses the Angle Draw i have set for him. How do prevent him from scaling during that 1 tick? Sorry if this sounds confusing.

EDIT: I figured it out. I added this to the standing state.
Code:
[State 0, AngleDraw]
type = AngleDraw
trigger1 = Time<1
trigger2 = Time>0
value = 0
scale = 1,.93
Title: Re: Iron Man
Post by: Graphicus on October 12, 2018, 01:53:32 pm
What the hell... he's not to scale?? :S

The only other person I know who has also used the sprite is duracelleur. Did he have to scale it too? I wish one of you had told me before I went and animated it. My sprites are meant to be accurate and useable with the corresponding official sheet. If you have to scale it, it kinda defeats the purpose. Let me know if you want me to fix it. :P

About the stance you maybe need some transition trames between the old and new. Most of his moves are planed to back for the old stance (like his punches for example). Its justo a sugestion!

Nice job and good luck!!

Put the angledraw in the -2 or -3 states, those are always active, unlike state 0.

With a stateno = 0 or anim = 0 trigger of course.

I tried putting it in the -2 states and it ends up scaling all of his sprites so everything was twitchy lol.

add two of them man,

one for when he is in state 0 and one for when he is not.

You could also make state 0 invisible (no sprites, just the hitboxes) and put the actual stance sprites on top as a scaled explod for a more simple solution.

All the others, even Dormammu, already have good conversions.  It's only Ghost Rider that doesn't, all of his conversions have been somewhat messy.  So perhaps if anyone could do him justice, it could be you.  And even though you mainly do PotS style, I'm still kinda hoping for him to get some actual UMvC3-accurate moves.

The plan is to get everything working before doing all the Aesthetic/Sound FX goodness.

Now as you notice in the video right around 0:25 during the first throw he instantly slams the opponent to the wall. what would be a good way to circumvent this?

Now as you notice in the video right around 0:25 during the first throw he instantly slams the opponent to the wall. what would be a good way to circumvent this?

That's easy, just have the slam trigger only while he's charging forward and not at all before then.

I will give that a try and see.
Here is how it currently triggers

Also did you noctice the little MCU Easter egg i threw in there?

I hope this is on-topic:

To put my two cents in on Ghost Rider: Dark Rider made a pretty damn good Ghost Rider, though it's spriteset is more akin to "KoF" shading and not "VS" shading, and it would seem it doesn't have a running animation.  Don't know if it's still floating around, unless you have it already.  It'd make a good starting point for a "PotS" Ghost Rider.

I considered using dark riders sprites but went with wucash's mainly because they are already CSed.

I almost forgot about Wucash's.  I need to see if I still got it, though XP that's a good starting Ghost Rider, too.

And Magneto would be nice, though if X-men characters were being considered, I'd rather see Sabertooth to go alongside Froz's Wolverine.  That, or maybe Storm.  Maybe a more PotS'd/JMM'd and less Infinite'd Deadpool with better running sprites?

I mained Iron Man on umvc3 and Mvc2, and I have a private Iron Man I edited from RedHot's IronMan.  I gave him the abilty to do his UMvC3 Krispe Kreme Combos and his Umvc3 infinites, at the same the ability to do his Mvc2 combos and Mvc2 infinites all in one character.  I actually made new sprites for his Air HK, instead of him doing his mvc2 air HK stanky leg, he does his Air H attack from Umvc3.

here is his gameplay if you wanna check em out.  As a fighting gamer, I know everything about Iron Man, he is my main for yeaaaars. I could help when it comes to his combo mechanics, gameplay style

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWTs21wxrkw&t=572s

I would like to give him his Repolser Spread move, the one he does after repolser blast, his Upward Proton Cannon, and His Iron Avenger Level 3.  But I ended up working on other projects

gotta adjust the transition at the end so it isn't so sudden.

The armor coming in feels a bit slow, imo. If you turn the video playback speed itself to 1.5 on YouTube, I think that would be the perfect speed for the Iron Man suit phasing in.

Also, love the inclusion of the RDJ clip =P

have the eye flash when the armor is fully assembled and then afterwards a white screen flash right before the transition to the stance so its flashy and seemless

Very bare bones intro progress but a very important aspect none the less.

I noticed in the sprites i have for iron man that he did not have his original MK-1 suit (The grey one).So i duped the gold variant, Removed the antenna & changed the palette to the MK-I's Original color. So now when the intro is completed, it will randomly pick from the 2 MK-I Variants (Grey & Gold)

This may seem impossible but i thought i would ask. this is for the iron armada intro.

I have 6 helpers currently. 1 for each suit. now i want each helper to pick a suit animation randomly but how would i go about making sure that they don't pick the same animation multiple times?

An example would be...
-Helper 1 picks the MK-IV armor randomly
-Helper 2 happens to pick the same anim

How would i make sure that helper 2 doesn't pick the same anim that helper 1 had already selected?
I apologize if this makes absolutely no sense.
Title: Re: Marvel Project Thread (Current W.I.P: Iron Man)
Post by: Inactive user on February 21, 2019, 12:34:33 am
well friend.. i believe the helper 2 is doing a wrong reading of this anim because it needs a separation to prevent it.

you need separate all anims for different numbers and put names to identify them.

Example:

INTRO 1 was coded to read the numbers 1,2,3 randomly

INTRO 2 was coded to read the numbers 4,5,6 randomly

put different numbers of statedefs for each helper 1 and 2 both don't be able to read numbers non existent at the config of them.

if you separate every anim at different statedef with different numbers, the helper 2 won't be able to read the config from helper 1, like that they don´t repeat the same stuff.

helper 2 reads only 4,5,6, so it's not able to ready 1,2,3 because it doesn´t found these numbers anyway because you prevent it with the separation.

you could just assign certain armors to certain positions.

for example, Stealth, original and Silver Centurion take up position 1

gold, hulkbuster, war machine go take up position 2

etc.

Just needs some Re-alignment/Re-positioning of the suits as this was just a test run. Should each suit have a different Y Velocity for flight, or should i leave it as is?

Also is there way i can have a sound fade out using code, or would i have to modify a sound file for the fade out?

Don't know about different vels. But maybe add some ease in so they look like they are accelerating instead of the consistent vel?
(Start slow and end up faster).
Now it just looks like they are floating.

 You could probably have the volumescale decrease gradually over a period of time or over a certain amount of horizontal pixels in a similar way you would scale explods over time and use stopsnd once it reaches a certain distance off-screen, no need to edit sounds as it'll save you on file size using the workaround I suggested. Of course this means you'll have to assign a specific sound channel so that stopsnd will only silence those very specific sounds.

 Personally, I've never experimented with sound scaling before, but I'd figure the existence of volumescale could be exploited in a similar manner as one can exploit the scale parameter in anglescale or explod.

Quote
[State 3440, Modifyexplod]
type = modifyexplod
trigger1 = time = [330,430]
ID = 6705
scale = 5-(0.32*(Time-360)), 5-(0.32*(Time-360))

 Note how I can use time ranges in conjunction of arithmetic to shrink an explod? It's probably doable with math like this for sound, but I have yet to confirm the theory myself.

The Blast FX:

This SOUNDS plausible, but one fatal flaw. volumescale is a FIXED variable. Angle is updated every tick. Unless you can find a way to update volumescale every tick, this would not work at all.

If the sound effect is looping, then you can disable the autoloop and manually loop it.

Just look at the sound duration and trigger PlaySnd repeatedly, with a scaling volumescale parameter.

If the sound is for example, 49 ticks... something like this... adjust the calculations to suit your need...

type = PlaySnd
trigger1 = Time%49 = 0
volumescale = 100.0 - ((Time*1.0)/10.0)
value = xxx,xxx

Final intro.

I made a palette for pepper that closely resembles her appearance from the first iron man movie. (not 100% accurate but pretty damn close!)
i have 1, maybe 2 more victorys planned and then i can start to work on the specials and supers. (The fun part).

@Mr. Giang:
are these sprites in your iron man open source?
(https://i.imgur.com/R2Wes6Z.png)
(https://i.imgur.com/8zdbVHp.png)
I know sky79 made the MVCI Proton cannon, but the air dash i'm not too sure of. (im assuming sky did this one as well?)

Proper credits will be given if they are used. the sprites will be color separated as well.

Don't mind the empty box on the bottom right. couldn't figure out what to put there lol.

So yep you all know what that means. Be sure to update your palettes as the palette box was reconfigured a slight bit.
Im always accepting palettes for iron man so feel free to post here if you have any more ideas for palettes.

The left hand in the suit up intro at 0:13 looks a bit off. Tony's left hand doesn't match up with how long the suit's left glove is. It looks like a easy fix. Maybe adjust the suits hand up to match with Tony's left hand. Any chance Zvitor will let you use his attacks with the red lazer, and mini missiles that come out of his wrist?

I have already known about his left hand not matching up. i just didn't see it as that big of a deal. And i do plan on using some of zvitors moves, Especially the missiles. because why not?

The red laser sword im so-so on. i'm still in the process of finalizing his move set which will be pretty extensive.

Hi! Awesome Ironman project! Did you considered an intro where Tony suits up single pieces like in the third movie and, especially, THIS pose?

You had asked about the iron Man 3 suit up before but I couldn't get the armor pieces to look right with the new Tony sprites so I went with an intro loosely based on infinity war instead. And about the pose? Don't have sprites for it so it's not possible unfortunately.

Here is a sample animation for the infinity war super.
Looks familiar doesn't it? :)

The animation wont be that fast and probably wont look the same in the final product as i will adjust it accordingly.
EDIT: He is going to have the blasters that appears on his hands as explods just like in the movie.

If there were sprites for iron avenger it would be on there but there are none unfortunately. Also as i stated in the previous post, the movelist is not final and will probably change in the future. So there is a chance for iron avenger if i can come up with my own variation with the sprites i already have.

Honestly, the Hulkbuster super behaves exactly like Iron Avenger would, gameplay-wise i.e. it's a dash-charge that activates on contact, even if the rest of the animation doesn't play out the same way. Hulkbuster makes more sense as a Level-3, given that it's REALLY a last resort kinda thing.

I never understood Iron Avenger, to be honest. Why bother warping in a 2-ton Proton Cannon if he can just shoot a more powerful beam out of his arc reactor?

Yeah level 3 hulkbuster does sound better. i will put it in with the level 3s.

The Proton Cannons are just there for nostalgia. Also i am saving the beam from the arc reactor for something else.

In umvc3 its practically instant. Also i noticed i had the beam firing at the wrong frame. it was supposed to be frame 6 but instead it was frame 3. Another thing is you have at least 9 to 22+ ticks to block it depending on how close you are to him.
its 5 to 10 hits also, you won't be able to parry it even. This looks very spammable right now.
Hit count is based on Umvc3. Light is 5 hits, Medium is 6 to 8 hits & Strong is 8 to 10 hits.

Not quite.

it was supposed to be frame 6 but instead it was frame 3.

Incorrect :p.
His Beam (Light version) has 22-frame start-up in UMvC3. I honestly don't think it is a good idea to have a 6-frame fullscreen instant beam in a slow pace CvS match (honestly, it even sounds bork as heck in MvC environment).

Getting balance tips from MVC is a bad idea, I suggest scaling  it down for a CVS environment. 1 hit for all the standing ones 2 hits foe the ex version you can also mess with the range and start up frames. Imagine spamming a beam like that vs a grappler char/slow paced char.

1 hit doesn't seem right for unibeam. Range is fine and I will adjust the start up time some.

Nah, multiple hits are fine. In fact, even if you make Unibeam UMvC3-accurately, it's still fine in CvS matches since the move itself has extremely long start up and it is very unsafe on block. Removing multiple hits factor literally means gutting half of the usefulness of the moves, which I don't recommend at all.
Since Ironman in UMvC3 isn't exactly a very fast pace character, he is pretty good as a reference for Pots-style, if done correctly.

10 hits or not it's going to a be low damage special so it doesn't matter. Especially if the hits go by in less then a second.

An update to unibeam.

-Reduced hits on all variants to 3, 5 & 7 respectively.
-Reduced the beams speed by 8 ticks.

I still need to reduce the damage but that will come soon.

Now I have to say, it is too slow.

In my opinion, the beam speed don't have to be reduced.

If you wan't to make it less overpower, work on the antecipation. Make Iron Man hold/charge it a little, because there's basically no antecipation in both versions you made. It's a simple animation technique and it's used all the time in Marvel movies.

Disagree, this is good enough for beam speed. That being said, the start-up is still way too fast. In UMvC3, the fastest version of Unibeam has 22 frame start-up while this version seems to have less than 10 frame. Given how slow pace CvS enviroment is, I don't think this is a good idea.

The start up time is from MVC2 which fires at 18 ticks but i just changed it.
Is this better?

That's pretty good!

And about the new version, the antecipation looks great and seems natural... The beam speed still seem slow. And I say that not taking any game as reference, but it is just a matter of fact.

Anyway, keep going. Can't wait to play Iron Man xD

What is your fact based on though? The beam is definitely good as it is right now as they are also only this fast in UMvC3 (more or less). Also, the whole point of Pots-style is to make a character with as much reference as possible in source games while still fit with CvS environments. You are completely missing the point of this when not actually taking source games as reference :p.

I am still not too fond of the right helper. Its a little bit trickier to work with compared to the left and center helpers.

Also i will note that the palette template is getting another final update (Yes i know this shit gets irritating but it must be done!) But don't worry. for any of those who created/updated palettes, i will have those palettes adapted to the new template and the only thing that you guys will need to change is one set of colors. (The sea green colors on the cluster helpers). I will have the new and seriously final template plus all of the other created/updated palettes posted when i wake up later.

But for now i finally rest. and then later watch the sunrise on a grateful universe.

EDIT: I just realized that the right helper looks like it has green dicks on it. Might need to edit that later lol.

Here is the next WIP Special. Micro Missiles.

I wanted to show rocket uppercut but i decided to scrap the move entirely as i didn't like it.

And now for some assistance. I'm looking to have the missiles home in on the opponent animation wise. I need them to come out from his arm in an arc and then start to home in. Maybe AngleDraw/AngleMul?

Well to start first,i never understood the text thing as i didn't use it for my templates,so first open up a sprite in ff3,duplicate it,then open it up with image editor ,and  multiply its size by 6x or 5x,then go to the other sprites you want in the template,copy and paste them into the duplicate,and repeat this step until you got all the sprites needed.Then use the pen tool to add colors in the template you made

I didn't make this CS. The separated sprites were done by acey IIRC. All I did was change a couple colors then made the template.

Cap's star on his chest for his third sprite is too big
Nothing I can do about that as I didn't make the sprites.

just the stance, everything else is more or less the same.

also acey's had a very in-depth CS that's a good base to go off of including a chainmail design

Alright. Its only 5 frames so it shouldn't take me long (Well 6 frames technically, but i already have the first frame separated). i will include the MVC stance as an optional patch.

Why not just in the anim file as Anim 1 or something? Jmorphman and a few others did that as extras or for evil modes and it worked.

By the way, i managed to rip the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 voices to use for whatever you need.

Most of the cast there reprise their roles from MvC3/I, including Cap, Iron Man and most of the main avengers

I agree. The waist needs work on that gauntlet animation. I think it would be sweet if he was unmasked like the movie, but that would take a lot of work to get right. I'm thinking it would be like a last resort super that does damage upon himself.

That's exactly how it's going to work. Tremendous damage to both him and the opponent.

That could be made with layers, do both heads, mask upper layer, head bottom layer, then erase the mask slightly every frame with a few animation touches so it looks like in the movie (nano tech) and it could work.

About the animation, last sprite looks strange, waist too large, our left leg too big too, and shadow and light look strange on the head, thats what I think it needs fixes.

The leg size is fine. It was already too big on the original sprite so i used the upper and lower body of graphicus stance to thin out his waist and leg size.
Also the sprite above isn't in use anymore in the current animation.

I think it's an alignment problem in the .sff, you should put them in the center of the cross used for alignment. I'm not sure, maybe it's not that problem. Still worth a try though.

trigger1 = p2dist X < -5

Neither of these worked unfortunately.

While i try to figure out or wait for a solution for micro missiles, Here is an update to Repulsor Blast.

Lengths of the beams are subject to change. Lengths are loosely based on MVC3.

Try adding this to Statedef 1240

[State 1240, noautoturn]
type = AssertSpecial
trigger1 = 1
flag = noautoturn

or Try this, place under statedef -2

[State -2, noautoturn]
type = AssertSpecial
trigger1 = 1
flag = noautoturn

Good the see the classic stance being put in, thanks !

Can I just ask whats the use of the missiles  ?  I am not big on the MVC series and know very little about the chars, this is why I am asking.

Also seeing the update on the beam, if I fire Ryu's Super hadoken if the beam is 7 hits will it cancel the hadouken out ?
I still feel that beam is really op.

Its up to you, just my 2 cents.

Have you tried to implement a constant Autoturn to the missiles, and see if that works?

Like:

[State 1240, Always Turn]
type = Turn
trigger1 = p2dist X < -5

I only put the classic stance in because it was requested. I personally don't like the classic stance because it just looks odd to me.

It was a move in zvitors version so i added it to mine. The EX version will be based on Nano micro missiles from Infinity war. (The ones that he fired from his back to use against thanos on titan.)
Also seeing the update on the beam, if I fire Ryu's Super hadoken if the beam is 7 hits will it cancel the hadouken out ?

Unibeam is made to eat projectiles. So while the the heavy and EX versions of unibeam would destroy super hadouken, Their hit count gets reduced based on the amount of times it collides with projectiles or opponents. so super hadouken is 5 hits vs. Strong unibeams 7 hits. Strong unibeam would have only 2 hits left to hit you cause of the limiter i have on all the variations. and to top it off, it already has extremely low damage.

So really in the end, its not at all overpowered but if you still think its overpowered then i completely understand.

Have you tried to implement a constant Autoturn to the missiles, and see if that works?

Like:

[State 1240, Always Turn]

I have not yet. i will try this out and hope that it works lol.

Maybe its my lack of knowledge kicking in here,  but eating up something I spend bar on, its just something I cant wrap my head around.

I just imagine being zoned by IronMan from the other half of the screen even shooting my projectile wont do nothing.
What would I do against it ? Should I roll ? jump over it ? I know I cant parry it.
If I try to stuff it with jumping in, will Ironman have enough time to hit me with the repulsor blast ?

Most of the old school zoners(bar morrigan's laser bazooka) you can manover around their projectiles.
If you set up the missiles with the beam its gonna be a nightmare to counter.

This is just speculation though, until I test IronMan.

Looking forward to both Cap and Iroman

Thanks.

Alright. i'll tell you what, i will make unibeam chargeable. so that way you have to fully charge it to use the multihit aspect of the beam. uncharged will be a single projectile fired from the core. (similar to ryus hadouken.) Hits for the charged unibeam will remain the same (3 to 7 hits respectively). EX Variations will allow you to use the multi hit beam without charging it but they will retain their original start up times. A comprimise to keep both of us happy lol.

I am just brainstorming with you along the way, it up you to decide what to do.

I didn't take it in a negative way either. Its constructive criticism. I need to be open to any of it at all times. I will get to work on fixing up unibeam my friend. Your feedback is always appreciated.

@NDSilva:

So i am thinking that in order for micro missiles to flip correctly we need to look at this and maybe modify it accordingly.

Code:
[State 1240, Guided Missile]
type = AngleSet
trigger1 = time
value = (atan(Vel Y/Vel X) + (3*pi/2)) *(-180/Pi)
This is the state i am currently using for angling the missiles. which i found here.
http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/code-snippet-archive-43756.0.html (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/code-snippet-archive-43756.0.html)

Alternatively, if anyone knows a better way of making sure projectiles always face the direction they are going, please post it here.

I tried the codes here and they didn't work all too well. What i have seems to work so far. It's finding the way for it to work correctly is a pain. Its probably something so simple but it eludes my troglodyte mind. like i said, we're getting closer to solving this stupid little detail. Is there a way of detecting something that is facing a certain angle?

Looking for some suggestions on Micro Missile velocity.

Velocity Code
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

These are the current vels i have been using but i need something different. Mainly better tracking vels & to help make the missiles feel realistic and useful (not overpowered)

Using the vels above has odd effects like this one where the missiles sometimes stop just above the opponent and causes my favorite flipping bug lol.

Any suggestions or assistance is greatly appreciated.

Just stop it, no one wants to hear about "your tragic shooting". If it is really painful to tell, might as well just keep it shut in your mind instead of bringing it everywhere.

Try to keep personal stuff out of someone else's thread and stay on topic. Glad you're ok though.

he's 14. give him a break, you're being a bit overly harsh which is something im very much guilty of myself at times. as someone who is from the phillipenes myself, i can see why some of the shit he's saying can sorta weigh on him.

i do agree he should keep it on topic and reddbrink already gave him a good post about telling him to keep it on topic, but you're just being a dick right now with unneeded potshots towards him :/

Does anyone know here i can find this unibeam FX on an angle?
(https://i.imgur.com/2OO4mwq.gif)
I do know that i can use angledraw to angle the FX, but it is incredibly tedious to draw collisions for it. The constant trial and error is an absolute pain, especially when i have to draw them on 4 different beams of various sizes. any help with this is greatly appreciated.

it might be tedious but angle draw might be the best option because depending on the opponent distance u going to need different angles to make the move work.anyways i hope u resolve this issue, im waiting for your release of this iron man.  ;)

Decided to stop being lazy and continue working on iron man. this is what i have going on right now. collisions for repulsor blast.
(https://i.imgur.com/kFskUXC.png)
Any better suggestions on how to colllision to this? cause its going to be far worse once i get to the medium and strong variants of repulsor blast.

These are how the collisions looked in Marvel Super Heroes (from a Mame-RR collision box viewer):

I feel you could do something like this, but I also feel like it could depend on where you have the collisions of the blasts coming from. (Are they coming from the blast helpers themselves or Iron Man?)

My guy let me tell you that you did good on the collision boxes. But for future reference, before you place your collision boxes for an angle, go to the animation of the beam (or whatever), and on the bottom left there's an area where you can set your angle value in order for you to place your collision boxes properly because the beam will angle itself in the animation, but you'll have to do it for each frame though. then once your done just set it back to 0.
Just my method for it

How do i set the angle with fighter factory? and which version of fighter factory do you use. Its probably staring me right in the face but i don't notice it lol.

I believe he's talking about this animation feature, that's avaiable in Fighter Factory 3:

(https://i.imgur.com/oem18v0.png)

(I too didn't know it was there before DJMouF's comment! Lol :bjugoi:)

It's only avaiable if you set your character project to Mugen 1.1 (in the .def file), though;

So, if you wanna use this feature and still keep your character compatible with Mugen 1.0 and/or WinMUGEN, a strategy would be - and I believe that's what DJMouF was referring to - building up your animations and CLSN boxes using the 1.1 scaling, and then removing those scale & angle parameters from the .air file just to replicate them with AngleDraw, in your characters's code.

The collisions on repulsor blast have been finished.
(https://i.imgur.com/5uZnNbr.png)
I will note that this is the strong version and the 4th beam (Behind, diagonally up) is the full range of the strong beams.
I'll still attempt to make some minor adjustments here and there if something looks off.

Here is a quick update for this monster of a project.

It doesn't show everything. just the stuff i currently worked on. I have been mostly posting progress updates on the MFG discord as the response time for fixing issues i come across is Incredibly quick.

Also a reworked palette template will be coming soon so be prepared for that.

No he wont have an aerial rave. he will play closer to the standard POTS style characters with some twists of my own.

I updated my post on the Spritesheet addendum thread.

The colors for Tony Stark are based on B.J. Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein 3D and the core colors are based on Argent Energy from Doom 2016 & Doom Eternal
