Surprised? I bet.
I've been teasing deriving from PotS-style for a fair bit and heading in the direction of my own style(s).
For this first attempt, I am building an Akuma that replicates how he plays as a guest in Tekken 7.

What to expect:
  • 4 Attack Buttons
  • A moveset loosely based off his Tekken 7 incarnation, adding as much as possible with the sprites at hand.
  • Similar move properties to the T7 original, but with some balancing so he can compete against other styles.
  • Voices and Sounds from T7.
  • Hit & Guard Sparks from SFxT.
  • A good amount of combo variety thanks to his juggle potential, with tight timing, but a lot of freedom.
  • Focus Attack complete with Dash Cancelling.
  • Juggle Decay system taken from PotS' 2022 Pocket Shin Gouki, making the opponent fall faster as they are continuously juggled.
  • Slow walking and jumping, made up for with fast dashes and forward movement on most of his moves.
  • 2000 Power, leaving only 2 Power Bar with 1 EX per Bar, with the Super Art requiring both.
  • Raging Demon, available at 1/5 Health.

- Rage Art
- A few more normals
- Throws

Originally "Super Akouma", in reference to the renowned Akuma player of the same name.
The new FR stands for Fated Retribution, in reference to T7.

Need to be cheap as fuck to be accurate lol.

I have basically no experience with custom meters so it's doubtful, sorry to say.

Sounds/looks pretty good. Let me know if you need some testing to it.

As for testing, I don't know how long it will take before I think he's worthy of it. I wanna get a fair chunk of his moves in first before making the consideration.

Sounds good. Will T7/Super Akuma have a Shin mode? (Shin Akuma was a thing in T7 as an extra boss, if I remember correctly.)

The powerbars is a nice touch but its not a necessity tbh. It would def be pretty cool if you were to add fgc elements like commentator audio when you get a perfect or something like that. Need to hear Rip and Tasty Steve when you do something sick.

It would def be pretty cool if you were to add fgc elements like commentator audio when you get a perfect or something like that. Need to hear Rip and Tasty Steve when you do something sick.

Are you asking for that because of the name? I would be an interesting addition, but I feel like it would become repetitive if I don't add enough clips. It's not in my interest, at the moment, but I'll probably make it optional when I do.

Shit, this Akuma sounds realy nice. Can't watch the video though, sorry.
At any rate, watched some TK7 Akuma, and here is a suggestion: you better up that bar to 2000 power, with single EX costing 1000. In the game it gets filled much longer than 1000 bar would take, even with reduced getpowers. Plus, that's plain safer.

A bit of a progress report:
The main additions of note are the Hyakkishu (still needs tweaking), Shakunetsu Hadouken, and EX Tatsu.
EX SRK also got some snazzy dark hand FX. Once again, Vyn is to be thanked for most of the new FX on display here.

Very good news.
I like the idea of such mechanics.
It would totally be crazy to have a "full" game with original character and similar mechanics.
With like a limited roster of 8 for a start... (Just dreaming)

On subject.
Does you character changed it's name because the actual Tekken player changed his name too?
I have not followed Tekken 7 tounament for a LONG time now...

Anyway keep it up.
