Particularly overall color and body proportions. But it lacks face details + muscle definition. To me, his skin lacks colors (it's part of the muscle definition problem)Perhaps have a look at Ryo and Other karate guys in CVS2
My take on a Cvs2 Kensou with his classic costume.I dont know if I did it right, CvS has so many differencies and its so ruled that its hard to mimic to me, for example I see some characters have 5 shades for their skin and some others only 3, this can see there in my image, same goes to pants.Anyways, I tried to make Kensou.
If you have to keep a 15+BG colour limit, then some colours must be reused or not added.Your sprite is already exceeding that limit, you have 18+1 colours.Just to cut some colours, you could use the same colours of the skin for the hair. Also the pants should look more like Yun (example you have in the comparison). The sclera (white of the eye) could use the lightest skin colour. The eyebrows could use the darkest colour of the hair.
Thank you, thats something I forgot, the rule of number of colors.I think its already fixed by Graphicus.Next time I make anything CvS I will remember the 15 +background.Edit: btw I think I know why it has more than 15 colors, at first I used Yun skin colors to sprite Kensou but later decided to use Kyo skin color but forgot about the hair (those are 3).Anyways, looks better than before, and I will keep that in mind the next time.Edit 2: Kensou again... Someone on the bounty thread wanted to see him with this outfit, I tried.
Looks really nice, though I feel like his legs could use a bit more light. Some highlights on the top of his face might help as well.Even when the face should be completely obscured, sometimes Capcom artists make an exception and illuminate the forehead a bit (you can't tell with Kyo and Yuri because of the bandana but you can see it on the side of Yun's hat and Kim Kaphwan's head.Something I wanted to go more in-depth with yesterday is that the only time Capcom uses white for the eyes is when they have an extra color or when part of the outfit is also white and they're already sure it'll be a light color in all palettes. If not sure, just go with lightest skin color for the eyes (or hair color, if it's Akuma. LOL).Just my two cents.
I wanted to add a lighter tone but at least for the sprites I had as reference seems like its always used the second color, thats why it seems darker.About the face, nearly the same problem, watching Benimaru and Vice gave me that idea, but Benimaru and Vice also have a different stance and more believable light source.I guess those changes can work pretty well, mostly the legs, Im just not sure how to do them without them looking too much KoF'ish, because that was my problem with the legs at first.

Many tanks mate, indeed he looks too short for a cvs char I was wrong to scale the sprite, however I finally found a personal way to convert drawings in sprites though the whole process is very long and difficult (also the real problem is still make the entire animation and intercalation of the sprites)
Can i tell you a secret? never liked cvs2 Chun-li´s parry, also, neither that she shares jumping light and medium kick / punch animations, so:
