Wow, you have no idea how helpful that is. I'm also really digging the song. I wish I was proficient at making stages, because I would make a stage for him and use it as the music.

It's not that hard to animate, if I have the images. If you have the images with the different facial expressions and stuff, well hecks yes I would love those. BTW, you are going to receive hella amounts of credit for helping me so much. Thanks!

What's up guys. I was hoping I could get some suggestions from some MGS fans. I was thinking about what was said earlier about how his overuse of weapons may overpower him, and then I thought about how Jill in MvC2 has a dashing shoulder tackle move, I guess to balance her out. Since his 3-Hit combo is accomplished with his regular attacks (LP - MP - HK), I was wondering if any of you had any ideas on what would be a good physical attack for Snake. Something to balance him out. Like I mentioned, think something similar to Jill's shoulder tackle. I thought about giving him a Shoryuken as a gag move, but I decided not to.

So, what would be a good physical attack special for Snake? Thanks for any suggestions.

The codec is a taunt and also plays into win poses. I'm toying with the idea of having the screen come up for the win poses, but it's hard to capture that stuff. The big problem is the animation when they're talking. It'd be no problem if it weren't for that. If anyone knows of a good way to go about that, let me know. I dunno. I feel like I'm being overambitious with some of this stuff. He was just supposed to be a straight forward character, but eh. I'm rambling.

Thanks, those pictures are actually a ton of help.

Also, I honestly don't know how to give it homing properties. I know how to have it come out at different angles depending on where the opponent is on screen, but I don't know how to make it follow. I think I saw a topic on here about it somewhere, in the help forum or Code snippets or something.

Hey, I have a question for experts and I fugured I'd use this so I don't have to make a new topic. How many pixels across and high is the Mugen screen? So if I wanted to make something square shaped that covered the whole screen, what size would it need to be?

Well I don't know what to say about the grenade-throw comments. My roommates and I think it looks fine, but I don't know. I won't get the same effect with arch and distance with a side or underarmed throw, I don't think.

Now you're just being bitter because you made yourself look like an idiot. He has an ear. You must remind yourself that these...are...PIXELS. He's also not a high-res character. To give him sideburns when using pixels would look strange. I don't even know why I am still trying to convince you. Do me a favor, and when he's finished, don't download him. Everyone else here has backed me up on his appearance, so I'm done arguing about it.

9999, are you serious? I mean, come on, I've been polite up until now, but come on man, do you know anything about Metal Gear Solid? First of all, to be clear, I never, EVER, said anything about making a SSBB Snake. Secondly, I stated clearly, from the beginning, that my Snake is MGS1---that's the number ONE there. So In response to your little tear drop man that I'm sure you thought was extremely witty:

Aside from a missing strap on his leg that would make him asymmetrical and some boxy-looking utility pockets on his belt...

Yes.  --;

Thanks dude. I was starting to think I was missing something, like with the e-mail thing.

EDIT: Turns out I did make a dumb mistake. I meant to say I was looking for him saying "Come in colonel," not "Come on colonel." Whoops. Although I still got a good clip from that one fo a win pose, or possibly his lose from time over/draw pose, where Colonel says "Snake, are you okay?" and Snake says "I've been better."

Snake says "Come on Colonel" in my [MGS] Captured 2.wma file (00:46).

I don't think you understand, the link you gave me for that file is a different file! On page 2 of this thread, the link that says: "[MGS] Captured 2.wma" sends me to a page where the file "[MGS] Captured.wma" is downloaded. It is a coversation involving Sniper Wolf, Liquid Snake, and Ocelot, talking to each other just before Snake is tortured. It is not, I repeat, NOT, the file you think it is.

Not in MSG(1). ;)

The combo looks good, but, still doesn't look like Snake.

Well I'm sorry dude, I don't see how he doesn't look like Snake to you. I guess I can't please everyone.

Snake says "Come on Colonel" in my [MGS] Captured 2.wma file (00:46). He shouts Colonel in almost every other file. You have more than enough sources to get what you want, just sound edit them using audacity or audition (just a matter of cut/paste).

Hmm, I listened to the files, I guess I just missed those. I'll listen again...

EDIT: I'm sorry, I listened to "captured 2." It's not the one you think it is. The one attached to the "Captured 2" link is almost seven minutes long, and is the cut scene where Liquid, Wolf, and Ocelot talk before Snake gets tortured.

Nice I like the animations. The codec one sounds promising. What do you have in mind to be put in there when he does the codec? Or are you even putting any codecs in there?

Yes, he will have the codec as a taunt, and I also plan on using it as a win pose. In the win pose version, the animation will be the same each time, but I want to have 5 or 6 different things for him to say that will activate randomly.

Psyke, you should know that not all sprites have to be made like that. In fact, I draw all of my sprites in Paint, and then they are changed to .pcx. Just sayin'.

I was actually just going to use the box for an intro or win pose. I hope that's not a big disappointment.
