The lines in Capcom's sprite are just to show some grey hairs and not for detailing it. Also, for the second sprite, I'm not sure if projecting the arm's shadow on the leg works for the style. And maybe the stance should have both feet planted on the ground?Other than that I like them a lot.I thought of it as lines for his tied hair, but you're right. And for the feet I wanted to keep some of the movement impression of the stance animation, which is everything but static, that's why I didn't draw him with his feet planted. Anyways, it's like a dream to hear feedback from you, thanks!

Just-enough cvs colors Sagat. I tried to make a slight color separation for the scar and pants without passing the 16 colors limit.I'm starting to think we really need more simplified sprites in this style, if Capcom could pull off spriting terry with just 3 skin colors, we definetely can do better.
Maybe is just my eyes tricking me, but I think your Dan sprite looks a little bigger than it should, just a little. Compare the legs with the original CvS Dan, idk, it looks too big imo. But other than that, amazing work!
Great stuff mate, I made Yashiro EX stance in a sort of similar cvs style - All right ahm, I added more details in the pants and changed the pallette by using brighter shades -
I'm by no means an expert, but I know that you need a mid tone. You have it for the skin but the pants and top need it as well. It can't just be bright, dark, outline.

It can't just be bright, dark, outline.Well, some CvS sprites have just 3 tones, like Athena and Nakoruru (I think Nakoruru in some details has only 2 instead of 3), and some have more than 5, like Rugal. I think there is no rule for that, but yeah, the "essential" would be 4.
A little bit off-topic, but seeing the discussion about the colors, I remember a guide Eternaga/!E/ETG did a couple years ago with a lot of colors that could be useful:
Oh my god, yes! I still use that guide to this day! I miss sinhra.com every day. And true, there are exceptions. I've still got a lot to learn
Yes in fact i Talked about a"similar" style but not properly cvs, the purpose is to semplify the palette as much as possible to convert a full sff in less time reducing animations issues at the same time.

It's not only inaccurate to how CvS sprites are often shaded, but those colors are awfully way too washed out. If you want proper color and shading reference, just look analyze the source material instead. The only indepth analysis of the style's shading that comes in mind is the IRWT page of it.
Kiwi's site 2dwillneverdie.com is also a excellent source of information about CvS-eque sprites, and different techniques to achieve it!

I need help completing this one. I still can't make the SFV camera angle to fit CVS style, that's why the left arm looks way undetailed.
