Also the whole design behind Pokémon's multiple versions is that you can't catch everyone yourself, these changes don't bring anything new beyond the new ones are now different versions of older guys instead of just completely new Pokémon.  Not being able to catch a Vulpix is just a stroke of bad luck if you are getting the games without him, but you can just set up a trade online to get one from anyone offering.

I'm really digging this game. I'm loving the fresh ideas and the new twists on original pokemon. Way more hyped for this than I was for X/Y or ORAS.

So, uh, are we still using this as a general Pokémon thread still as well as Sun and Moon news?  I could use some suggestions on something.

I was breeding Eevees to get Espeon and Umbreon, as I'm missing them to complete catch everyone, and the second egg turned out to be a shiny Eevee, surprise surprise.  Of course now I want to use it to the best of its abilities, but it has a Naïve nature, which means higher Speed but lower Special Defense and I'm not sure where to go with it.

Jolteon, Espeon and Leafeon are the best three to pick from as I see it.  Jolteon gets the best use of the further speed boost, but relies on its special defense as its third best stat.  Espeon's speed is its secondary highest stat, its special attach being its main, so the extra speed is nice but it also relies on special defense.  Leafeon relies on defense and attack, with speed as its tertiary high stat, but that doesn't mean it's very good.  However, it doesn't get as affected from the lessened special defense.

I'm actually somewhat partial to the lime green shiny coloring Espeon got that people seem to dislike, Jolteon's is ok but Leafeon's is just boring, a slightly darker shade all around.

The Alolans forms aren't so bad. However, I'm really worried about Sandslash because Ice/Steel doesn't sound good with matchups against Fire and Fighting Pokemon. Alolan Pix/Tales and SandShrew/Slash with Snow Cloak... wasn't that banned from Smogon?

They've basically paired the strongest defensive type with the weakest.
The result is that while they only have three weaknesses, two of them are double-weaknesses.
It resists Normal, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Dragon and Fairy, all of which are courtesy of the Steel-type; all the Ice-type does is further resist Ice-type attacks.

The fish and it's alt form look okay, but that's about it.
