Modes of play include Tournament, Free Competition and Special Game. Tournament spans eight cups and includes single and doubles. Free Competition lets you select opponent, court, set count and other areas.

Special games include a number of special types of play, most notably Super Mario Tennis, which you play with an interactive Super Mario Bros. between you and your opponent. View a video at the official site.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be released for 3DS in August, Iwata announced. He did not share gameplay specifics, but did say that Nintendo is aiming for a new 2D Mario standard with the game.

Animal Crossing 3DS will be released in the Fall. The game's final Japanese name is Tobidase Doubutsu no Mori. The name "Tobidase" can mean jumping out of something. It's often used to describe the 3DS's 3D effect. Iwata said that in addition to the visuals, the term applies here to the game's wireless functionality.

Nintendo are going to release a firmware update for the Nintendo 3DS soon, which will allow you to create folders on your Nintendo 3DS’s home menus. Each folder will be able to contain up to 60 items in it, and you can name folders, too.

The firmware update will also allow publishers to patch games. Nintendo says fixes for Mario Kart 7, Kingdom Hearts 3D, and New LovePlus will be available.

The new firmware update will be released on April 25th in Japan.

In addition to 3D Classics: Kirby’s Dream Land, Nintendo are also releasing a compilation of older Kirby titles for the Wii on a retail disc to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary. The image to the right is the logo for this celebration.

Fire Emblem's new DLC will be released on February 26. Two classic characters and accompanying scenarios will be available: Roy from Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi, priced ¥250, and Leaf from Seisen no Keifu/Thracia 776, priced ¥350.
Both characters feature special illustrators, Kimihiko Fujisaka for Roy and Sachiko Wada for Leaf.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will get four new songs tomorrow (4/22). Players can look forward to Final Fantasy VII's Those Who Fight Further (battle stage), Final Fantasy X's Normal Battle (battle stage), Final Fantasy XI's Battle Theme (battle stage) and Final Fantasy XIII's March of the Dreadnoughts (field stage).

Finally, Monster Hunter 3G received two new challenge quests following today's broadcast.

The long-anticipated Dragon's Dogma playable demo will be available for download off PSN and Xbox Live MarketPlace from Tuesday, April 24th in North America, Wednesday, April 25th in Europe. Just to be clear, that's next week. Yay!

The demo will let you try out the sword-and-shield Fighter class, making your way through underground tunnels in a Prologue quest that takes place before the events of the main game and culminates in an epic battle with a Chimera. You'll also be able to try out the well-rounded Strider class, battling against the airborne Griffin in the open fields of Gransys.

On top of that, you'll be able to try out the character customization system to create your own player character and Main Pawn. You'll even be able to import that character data into the full game once it's available on May 22nd (NA) and May 25th (EU).

i'm not a fan of roy's new design but it doesn't look out of place compared to other fire emblemers
