Mmm, maybe I'm looking too much at the official art, but the front bangs could look more curly, and maybe the hair could be longer overall.

Showed the anim to the bud that made the hair redraw earlier, and he said that the other eye should be shown.

I feel like for the walking anims, something that could help with the still upper body is having the limbs move slightly in a sort of secondary movement. Like, as his leg pushes the body upward or lets it fall down, the arms trail behind a little bit.

Mmm, yeah it kinda doesn't. Maybe an added pixel in hair height could help, and I imagined the front bangs would be a little stiff so they keep their kinda wild shape, like they were lightly gel'd or curled.

I'm liking this back-and-forth, honestly. It's kinda refreshing.
I honestly think what my friend did for the shoes and what I did for the hands is enough, honestly. And I do agree with the lines on the leggings.

I'll see if I can get one of my buds to come up with a solution, cus it's kinda out of my skill range.

Okay, so I did this, and he had a lot to say about it. He didn't like the use of King hair colors, as it's on the higher color count side and the bleeding of skin colors is "annoying". He also didn't agree with the line on the leggings and just modeled them straight after Yuri's, which I personally disagree with, but it's what he did. He also found that stuff like the shoes weren't touched up, so he did that.

Now, another guy chimed in and found the idea of including a visible headband (like the official art) to be an interesting idea, and I agreed, so on top of my friend's work I added a slightly visible headband. All in all, this was a really interesting thing to bring up.

Honestly, I like the direction you're taking as-is, but this is all good for consideration.

I really don't know what it is, but it still irks me in a way I can't put my finger on. Maybe it's because I'm cross referencing with official art that makes it look... I dunno, more expressive? I really don't know the words for it.

Maybe it's just too complicated for me to wrap my head around up close.

EDIT:

Tooled around with it a little bit and made some changes that I think I like a little better, and as an apology for being a total pain in the neck I also made a couple other minor changes to make stuff like the legs and hand a little cleaner.

Things I did:
Make the hair a pixel shorter at the top
Extended the bottom a little bit
Accentuated the frontmost bangs, to give it more of the official art look (though granted I didn't mess with it much)
Skewed the two brightest skintone colors more towards red (that helped me a bit with the skin-hair color differing issue I was having)
Messed with the held up fist to make it more CvS-like (tried cross-referencing Maki)
Messed with the tucked in leg just a smidge.

Thinking about it more, I probably should've added a little bit of shadow at the very top of the forehead that I notice in a lot of CvS sprites, at least in the ones I have on hand to cross-reference.

I actually like how the head looks here. this was the only time I messed with her hair an face

The face looks alright enough, but the hair still irks me. Maybe straying away from the original colors to make it more differentiable from the head tones would help.

Could just be me, but I don't think the head issue is something that can be solved by just reshading the original head. I'll see if I can get one of my buds to come up with a solution, cus it's kinda out of my skill range.

I got a friend's IKEMEN build running fairly easily on Steam Deck using the Linux port. It has some oddities with the joystick type inputs, so I had to bind stuff to keyboard keys instead.

I'm afraid to ask this, but... What if I can't really make significant progress on the character that I'm looking for custom anims for? Like, what if I have a small roadblock, but an early roadblock? In this case, it would be lack of usable anims for (most) normals and (most) gethits. (I could probably cobble together a stand heavy kick and standing/a few air gethits with the spritesheet I have.) The character has pretty much everything else I need for a full character. I just need these few things.

Ooh, an idea I could leave in the backburner for a rainy day. These sprites look brilliant, and I'd be more than happy to use them for a character project someday!

Thanks you so much, I promise to make some animations for her, not sure to do a full character though.

Of course, this is all just requests. Whatever you feel like doing, I'd be happy to see!

Clean looking Billy sprites, by the way!

kof MI characters have freaking looooong movelist... sounds like an infinite project...
Anyway, if you guys love her so much, go for it :)

Oh I do.
Maybe... not with every single stylish combo route ever, but at least enough of the anims for a nice proper CvS2 adaptation. I've been learning the CvS2 character coding workspace (the Warusaki and Jesuszilla stuff) and have consults to make sure it gets done right, both in the context of MI and CvS2. (Hi, J!)

Well, Rabano, for your consideration, here are at least a good chunk of Mignon's moves in Regulation A! Hassled with a widescreen patch to get as much animation as possible for ya. I really hope we could possibly collaborate on a cool lil project like this! My contacts are always open!

https://streamable.com/ph2lz5

It'd be hilarious if we did end up getting all the anims and I could make a source accurate Max Impact Mignon, wacky wallbounce, OTG, and ground bounce shenanigans and all.

Awesome! honestly I just need animations that can be catalogue into the typical SF control Scheme (LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, HK), but I know KOF uses four buttons so if you can do it its fine.

MI2 is in fact 4 button, but it also has a ton of command normals and "stylish moves" (chain normals) that could easily extend into a 6 button moveset.
Jesus Christ her stylish moves take up over 85% of her moveset. No shortage of normal anims here... Uh, I'd say take the ones you like the best.

Well damn! Guess I'll get to retrieving footage! Hypedddddd

Oh yeah, I checked by the way. You animated one of her command normals.

Thanks! I just did Mignon because they asked me to do something with her and that Sprite was kinda Cute and simple, but its hard to make characters outside of Street Fighter because the videos of their move lists just show their specials and not their normals individually, like SF videos usually does.

AAAH! PROBLEM I CAN SOLVE!
I'd be happy to record footage of the game for full individual animations! That animation looks fucking awesome!!!

Need COMPLETE B.B. Hood SVC: MOTM spritesheet!

So I had a random idea for a color separation, and go hunting for Neo Geo Pocket Color spritesheets. I get B.B. Hood's off of Sprites Database, start my work, then halfway through, I notice something off (after some research on the game).

It's incomplete!! There's tons of missing sprites from Beautiful Memory, and the hunters from the normal version of Cool Hunting are also missing! It's bugging me to no end!

Are there any COMPLETE B.B. Hood rips from SVC: Match of the Millennium? Or are there any people handy around a tile dumper or otherwise that can retrieve the missing stuff? (I tried. It's too much headache for me.) Please let me know!
