Can't make it sadly, I saved up as much as I could too. Too much of having to rebuild my life after an abysmal 2015.

I'm only saving myself a thrashing anyway, only game I'm decently practiced in right now is Revelator. Least KoF XIV should be there next year.

I'll be headed down, but I won't be playing in any tournaments. I'd like to do some casuals though. I have a bleak hope that I might be able to try out my mugen KOFE fullgame there, but I feel more and more that that's probably not going to happen.

I thought their way to support and promote the Vsav tournament was to add it to the "line up" but that was it? Daryl isn't running the tournament nor it'll be streamed on the AnimEVO channel since that'll be busy with kusoge.

Either way, I sorta understand why they're changing things around, I think the previous years they ran the game from CPS2 boards but a bunch of people had trouble with sticks and whatnot. Or maybe that was SoCal regionals, I don't even remember anymore.

Man watching the grandfinals on the big TV screen is something else, this grand finals was amazing overall :D

LI Joe was doing so great in it too, definitely the most surprising performance so far to me (he's a great player, but him making to top 8 was incredible). This match with Infiltration and Fuudo though... damn I thought Fuudo was going to win considering he sent Infiltration to losers quite fast, but Infiltration is impressive at adapting to the players he fights against, he's so good at doing this it's unbelievable.

This is by far the best EVO yet.  Here are my thoughts.

Tekken 7 was intense.  Worth a rewatch.  Hope to see this get added to the lineup of Sunday (until everyone mains Bob)

Killer Instinct sets and commentary was again fantastic.  Unexpected brokenness by one of the players that lost.  Gargos Gankbank wins it all.

Pokken was all right but the commentary wasn't that into it.  Hopefully Pokemon Worlds fixes that.

Smash Wii U is one of my favs having a JPN Megaman get this far even defeating Zero.  Lots of diversity too.  Shame it will never be added to the main lineup of Sunday.

MKX.  Angry Sonic Fox.  That is all.

Revelator.  Probably has the most unpredictable sets.  Love seeing JPN gods of their characters going at it.

UMvC3 surprised me yet again.  Chris G finally winning the big one after so many years of defeats in that stage.  His time was long overdue and I was rooting for him all the way.  Great to see Deadpool in Top 8.  I have doubts it will get removed soon.  Maybe pushed to Saturday.  We need to see more foreign players.

Melee.  As I said I just tuned in for the final set just to see the emotional victory and brokeness.  But honestly, Top 8 is getting predictable like every other major the gods are included in.  There is almost no contest.  Just the same players.  Least excited for this.  At least UMvC3 had different results and upsets.

SFV.  I just watched the Topanga stream for it was really ahead and the commentators were very into the match with all their hype not to mention feeling depressed when Fudd lost.  I really loved the displays shown and the matches wete epic.  Infiltration had close calls but pulled it through.  He deserves this victory.  Too much Nash mirrors unfortunately.  Is he really that dominate.


And congrats to Moomaster for getting into Top 8 in Dengeki!  How was the setting there?

Hopefully its gets available online, in some way. One of the cool thing with ESPN was the post match interview.

Still that top 8 was something. Really hope to see more of Nemo claw. How he CA Xian in the last round of there final match was sick. Plus the intro was super hype.

It was a blast! Sorry I didn't get to meet you, S.D. and Renzo! It was crazy getting around because my group and I were staying at the Mandalay Bay which was a LOT further from the Westgate than we thought. I was only at the convention center for the anime suite, my VSav tournament, and cheering on MooMaster666 in DFCI!


Though I lost in VSav, I will work harder and do better next year!


It was a BLAST hanging with everyone including Vans again, even if it was for very brief periods; it was Kusanagi's birthday so I understand completely! My plan is to go next year, hopefully with some more people like Kame!

No worries. I was busy spending time with some AnimeEvo friends on Thursday (Played a lot of KOFNW), Friday I was alone but busy with pools (Went, disappointingly so 2-2 in SFV... better than 0-2 though! I got out of pools in Xrd and lost to a Japanese Faust afterwards, and then busy with Nitro+ but I got DQ'd because I was playing Xrd and the match against the Faust took too long)

Saturday... I only played DFC (Which was at the same time as Vsav) and was unfortunate enough to fight Dara-C warly (whom got second place) and then left to spend the evening with the San Diego FGC since a friend was playing at the AH3LM side tournament, I got to try KOFXIV until Saturday as well. And Sunday was its own thing with Mandalay being so far away. I did see Vans and Kusanagi walking around.
I didn't really attend to Jiyuna's suite because I had a ticket to watch finals and then I had to take the monorail back to my hotel.

There is no reason for KI to be on that list.  Tekken and Guilty Gear were more hyped than that.  Max is a nice guy, but I feel KI was a biased obligation to be on that list.

I did but left after getting obliterated by Japan right away, I didn't watch the entire tournament, apparently it ran longer than expected? Because when I came back from getting food with my friend for the Arcana Heart tournament, DFC:I was still happening, and Arcana started a bit late.

I think I watched a couple of Vsvav matches bewteen breaks, I recall a Anakaris and a Jedah here and there.
