When I downloaded Marilyn Sue by Mikita, she came with a bunch of special palettes based off of other characters. But out of all the characters that there were palettes based off of, there wasn't one based off of Kula Diamond (aka the character everyone must make a palette based off of). So I went ahead and made that palette:

Now, I realize that posting only one palette to introduce yourself makes for a bad first impression, so here are palettes for Luigi, by Warner. And N64Mario. And TMasta.

The first four are based off of his alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The rest are, in order: Mario, NES Luigi Attempt, Mama Luigi, Wario, Ice Luigi, Super Luigi, Shadoo Luigi, Mr. L Attempt, and of course Kula Diamond.

Don't get me wrong. I don't condone rape nor is It a sexual fetish for me (and I don't see how It can be for anyone, even in a fictional fantasy way). I only made these palettes because I saw someone else make palettes for this character, and I thought they were creative. So I tried to make some of my own and this is what I came up with.

I'll give you some tips:

-Don't use inverted colors, it looks bad :-\ the lightest tones should always be in the inside and the outlines should be the darkest tones in everything (skins, clothing, etc)
-Try to vary your colors, not everyone can have a Kula Diamond colour
-Lynn Baker and Michael Jackson Kula palette I see in the hair a problem cause of the black shared tone, some characters have shared colours you should look carefully. In the hair use a dark tone or use more contrasting light tones so it could look more natural

Some are good, but the biggest part needs a lot of work

Keep it up, I know you can get better :)

Following from what Goodaldo is saying, you should consider doing some original Palettes sometimes, most people like Originality instead of themed stuff.
Probably that's why not much people have taken notice to your palettes since you've done quite a lot of Kula ones on characters it doesn't really fit with

It's not always easy coming up with Custom palettes at first but it's worth trying, it isn't saying "DO THIS TO GET A CONTRIBUTOR STAR AND SHIT" it's so people will start requesting pals from you and you'd be more noticed around here, I only recently got this star because I started to get better doing more custom palettes, people became interested and such.

That's just what I went through though I suppose, also I released a few crappy soundpacks :P

Oh look, feedback.

Regarding the Lynn Baker and Michael Jackson hair problem, you're right that I should have used a darker shade for the Kula Diamond palettes. I may update these in the future.

Regarding the overuse of Kula Diamond palettes, It's just a parody of how everyone seems to make a palette based off of her at least once. I mean there are some other characters who get palettes made after them frequently like The Hulk and The Joker, but I noticed that Kula gets her color scheme recreated more than anyone else. So I decided to parody this by going off the premise that this color scheme could work on anyone. So basically, expect these to continue to appear, even over characters that they clearly don't work over.

Regarding people requesting stuff, I don't really care If noone is requesting anything just yet, because I want to finish uploading everything I've made already before making anything new.

And regarding originality, I may eventually do custom palettes, but right now I think what I'm best at is making creative themed palettes. When I say creative, I mean trying to come up with themed palettes that nobody else would think of making. I always feel the need to name every palette I make, so It may still seem like a themed palette even If It's actually a custom one.

Now here's a character I can make palettes for and not be embarrassed about It!:

They are: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Shaded, Reverse, Mario, The Matrix, Wild Goose, Halloween, The Joker, Kula Diamond.

I had to make at least one MVC3 style palette, and Ronald was the only character I tried It on where It looked good. The Mario palette was made accidentally when I tried to make a Mega Man palette (which sucked). The Halloween palette should give an idea as to how long ago I made these, and yes, the Wild Goose palette is in fact based off of the F-Zero car of the same name.

I don't like these as much as I did when I first made them. The Mario palette looks more like Spider-Man, and the last three all look the same because of the vest.

Hmm try to avoid doing Kula Diamond palettes, they don't work well on most of them to be honest. Also that looks like an outdated Snake... might be me though. Also the Gordon works well, the rest come off as too colorful.

The Kula Diamond palettes are a running gag, parodying the fact that she gets palettes of her made frequently.

Also, can anyone tell me who made MVC2_TronBonne? Her .def file has her name in the "Author" field instead of the creator's name. Until I know who the author is, I can't give them proper credit. In the meantime, here are palettes I made for Tron Bonne by Kong:

This next character is a bit of an oddity, to say the least. It's God Phoenix by anamochi.

I did the Wild Goose palette again because I figured It actually made sense on this character. The UV palette was supposed to be the Kula Diamond palette, but as you can see It didn't work out. Silk Shot and Goo Shaver are weapons from the Mega Man X series.

The Kula one is awful, and the floor looks really bad, the colors are all over the place.
The rest are better, blue wood works okay, but a different leaf color would complement it, evil also works well. As for the Deku tree I say it works well and to be honest, you should have based the other palettes on different types of trees or stuff like that. Like a white tree bark for example. Keep at it I guess.

This is good feedback. Thanks. The blue one was made because the character comes with red and green palettes, so I made blue for completeness sake. I like your idea of making palettes based off of other types of trees, I'll consider It for the future.

I originally intended to only make a Shotgun Ice palette, but I finished making the yellow first, and realized It bared a resemblance to the McDonalds color scheme. I had to do custom palettes because I had a hard time coming up with ideas for her, and there were some themed palettes I wanted to make that didn't work out.

Some of them look okay, but the Maxine one looks pretty bad, you went with this cartoony approach I think, may have been your intention but avoid that. Why don't you try doing some original based palettes? They can work well and can be better than character based palettes.

Kinda funny how the only thing I'll be known for is the way I presented my palettes, and not just the palettes themselves. :U

But yeah, this is a neat set you have here. Although the shading for the Kefka skin could have been darker on the darker shades.

Yeah, the Ryu Gayabusa one wasn't exactly destined to look good. Still, I wanted to make It because I thought It was a funny idea. I was actually already working on Strider palettes for the color separation patch, but with the strikers edited too. I suppose I can release a version that doesn't have them edited first to get them out more quickly.

That pink is sincerely terrible, I'm being plain sincere thought the rest is actually pretty cool that one and the renamon doesn't look good at all mainly because of the limited colour count but still there are better ways to handle that :P

Like I said nothing special, I didn't really have any ideas for him, and making palettes for the color separation patch is a pain in the ass. I know I said I would release a version of use with the no strikers patch, and one that can be used with strikers, but I didn't want to work on this anymore so I edited the strikers in all of these (except arcade Strider where only Jill is edited). So you can use these with or without strikers. If there's enough demand for It I might make more palettes for Strider, but not right now. For now I need to take a nice long break from Strider.

Thanks Loli Bomberman. Unfortunately I'm going to have to announce that I'm unable to make palettes for a while. I'm having problems with my computer that force me to run It in safe mode, and things in Fighter Factory are not displayed properly in safe mode. So I'm not going to take requests or make palettes until I get these problems fixed, or unless someone tells me how to fix the display in Fighter Factory in safe mode.

I'm just gonna give the short explanation. Something isn't working properly when I run my computer normally. I can tell because my computer makes a certain sound when It's running, but once I started having these problems It's making a different sound. Like It's trying to read the disk or something but It can't. I am doing things to try and fix It, but so far I've had no luck with It.

that sounds like an incoming hard drive failure, I would recommend see someone that has knowledge in that before is too late

"No Offense" what is there to be offensive about? shit like this happens to people, it'll eventually happen to mine in this state mines going in, I pretty much just need a new Hard Drive I suppose, might need to replace my Motherboard too but I'm trying to get this PC Performance tool working and will hopefully speed up and make my PC work properly (Sometimes it has problems loading programs and takes about 30 Seconds to open a folder)

Hi guys, I'm finally back after my hard drive failure. I played Shining Force 2 during my time without a computer, so I made a few palettes based off of characters from the game.

During my time without a computer I developed an obsession with Sentinel, so I made a full set for him.

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, Nimrod, X-Men: Legacy, Mark 4 Sentinel, Robotnik Sentinel, Kula Diamond, Megaman, Thanos, Ugly Sentinel, and an attempt at an Iron Man palette that ended up making him look like a McDonald's Sentinel.

I didn't do a Mango Sentinel because Kirishima's version is good enough, although the Thanos palette kind of looks like It now that I think about It. This set also includes the Taros palette from the Shining Force 2 pack. I'm not really happy with how the Nimrod palette turned out, but It's better than what It looked like originally.

Also drewski90's request is on hold until I get done with JDM's request. It's going to take awhile since I want It to be at least almost as awesome as the stuff he makes.

I forgot to post this with the Roll palettes and was too lazy to post It after I remembered until now. I wanted to make palettes for Ghost Rider by Wucash, but he has a horrible color table and almost all of those colors are used because of bad color separation. This means that making palettes for him would require a job too extensive to be worth It, and almost everything that's shared would look bad.

Colour Separation is the challenge with that one, they're harder to tell apart and recognize, but the Clone Wars version and Felicia came out pretty good ;)

I know that Clone Wars Cyclops looks weird, especially on the yellow parts. Only Kula and Vulture have an edited laser, because I refuse to try to change It for Deadpool and Nick Fury, and the others don't really need a changed laser.

I opened her in Fighter Factory 3, and saved an image of one of her sprites so I could open It in Fighter Factory Ultimate, and not have to deal with Fighter Factory 3's crappy palette making interface.

Minor update, I updated the effects for the Nick Fury and Deadpool palettes I made for Cyclops, and made a new one:

Indeed, a pretty bad set. Inverted colors is a no-no-NO (only for joke characters cause joke palettes) I know the character is pretty uniteresting due to color limitations but a better effort could´ve been applied.

Sin City & Shin Akuma are nice thought.

Hello everyone! As you may have noticed I've been gone for quite some time...again. Well the time has come for me to tell the truth, back in December an accident caused my laptop's screen to break. This is why I wasn't around during Christmas time last year. When I came back, I found I out I could use my monitor (Long story) to still be able to see and do things on my laptop, even though the screen is broken. This is how I've been able to be active here with my screen broken. Well more than a month ago the monitor I was using broke too. I have a backup, but I have to got to the bar where I live in order to get an internet connection, and I cannot carry It to the bar because It's too big (It's basically a TV set). But now I have a portable monitor again, so I'll be able to use this until I get my screen fixed. Because I've been away for so long, I was able to make many palettes. I've also been looking through my characters, and realized that I have a lot of palettes I made that I haven't released yet. The reason for this is because I want to make a full set before the release, but I lack ideas and end up forgetting and not releasing them. Well my next update will be my biggest release to date, as I will not only be releasing palettes I made during my time away, but I will also be releasing old, unreleased palettes. Bad news everyone, around 2 months ago my computer stops working inexplicably, and now I'm forced to use a crappy backup computer. I have a feeling that even If I get my computer fixed, I might have to quit playing Mugen because I won't be able to recover my data, and It would be far too daunting of a task to reacquire everything that I had. Currently, I want to improve my financial situation, so I can't exactly use this computer for leisure purposes. However, I think I will finish what requests I currently have, make a few sets that I wanted to do before I lost my computer, and of course I'll always be willing to make palettes for whatever characters Divinewolf will be making. I will also upload a stage that was meant to be released the week my computer stopped working.

I honestly don't see any reason to quit MUGEN in it's entirely, in terms of playing it. My com crashed before as well, and I lost a LOT of stuff. I just downsized from that point on. Sorry to hear that. Just roll with a smaller roster/lighter SP/less stages. It may not be everything you want, but, you get to keep something. Also...

Sad to hear that man, my computer went through issues too before...and my friend installed linux, and none of my stuff worked, and when I finally got it back on windows, I had to start all over...it's definitely a bummer. Hopefully you don't quit and continue your excellent work, I wish you the best of luck with getting things back on track though.

Ouch. I had a similar situation back in march that almost made me quit entirely... but what's the fun in that?? I feel your pain and that pain is certainly a driving factor in "quitting." However, remember that there will always be some awesome release you didn't see coming, and that always sucks you back in.

Exactly. I say take a break and actually play instead of create. That worked for me, and I'm glad I am still around posting and making stuff. The most important thing to remember is the end result of your creations: It's work per se, but the end product is always fun to play with. Especially against armies of other awesome creations!!

This is a request from long ago that I said I wouldn't be able to do because of the extreme lack of color separation. Well I found out about Buckus' Ruby Heart which has enough color separation for me to actually do something with her.

Sorry If these sets are incredibly lazy. I just don't like making palettes for shota-clone characters. I hate to say this but I'm afraid I must announce that I'm not going to be taking anymore requests. I'm probably only going to make palettes whenever DivineWolf make a character (and he's making one now), or If I see a character that I want to make palettes for. Good news everyone! Last week a friend of mine removed my computer's hard drive and I was able to recover the data on It. This means I have reacquired all of my Mugen stuff, and I am now motivated to play Mugen again. I'm still not as active in palette making as I used to be, but now It's something that I'll actually be willing to work on. I might release something in a few days, stay tuned.
