I see the resemblance of Superman and some sort of Messiah since in some moments of the movie that representation appear a couple of times, I didn´t found any problems with that since it gives the character some significance (but I think way too much for the comparison), still enjoyed it

The last battle with Zod was epic!! After his entire unit is send to the Phantom Zone, Zod appears with the bla, bla, bla I´ll kill the humans you love and bam, battle. That was pretty epic IMO. No "Kneel before Zod" thought.

The part that most (to not say all) supes fans hated was the fact that Supes killed Zod?? That´s so out of character?? I guess it was a last resort since Zod was about to kill innocent people but still I´ll like the point of a comic expert.

1. There's no way Clark could have gotten Zod/Faora/that other Kryptonian warrior out of Metropolis/Smallville without it seeming extremely contrived that they would follow him for very little reason when they already know Clark will come back when people are threatened. Especially in the final battle where Zod had a deathwish in general

2. Zod wanted to die and put Clark in that situation in the first place and it's not like Clark did it with joy, he freaking begged Zod not to do it and felt heavy remorse for doing so. And even if he could have flown him and Zod away from the family, nothing would have stopped Zod from killing people during the ongoing battle. Superman has shown to kill people when every single option is exhausted and in actuality, I respect him for that far more than Batman for doing so.

3.I found it funny that Lois did find Clark and knew he was Superman from the start...but she's a freaking badass reporter who won rewards for her stories and coverage, it would have been stupid if she didn't find out he was Superman. And as for the military, unlike Lois, they aren't going to be able to snoop and find out who the hell he is under the radar, especially since even the best thing they have(satellites) isn't the best thing to pick out a PERSON and the other thing they had, Clark took it down damn near immediately. It doesn't make the military incompetent, it makes it reasonable because if they DID find out Clark was Superman, then it would bring out alot of issues in and of itself.

What the hell was Superman supposed to do? Fly away and HOPE they would follow him? Cry and moan about something that was completely unavoidable from the start? I understand people want him to try and save everyone, but he tried that in Smallville and he got opened to attack every time he saved someone. Including adding in his own inexperience, you are still asking too much of something that is inevitable.

even if he could NOT have avoided the destruction in Metropolis, the lack of emotions regarding the total mayhem after the battle (including the fact he had JUST killed someone for the first time: human or not, anyone with a heart would be affected!), he showed absolutely no remorse/internal struggle/hopelessness/whatever and that is a major flaw...especially because it is the end of the freaking movie 

It was... I don't know. I guess I mostly agree with Mark Waid. The first two-thirds were pretty decent. The fight scenes really and truly were phenomenal. But there was way, way too much disaster porn, to the point where it was starting to get uncomfortable. Killing Zod bothered me less than all the destruction, it was just... too much. Too much for a Superman movie. A movie that should be about hope, and about a magic space man who falls out of the sky to save us.

Michael Shannon was an absolute delight, and his Zod was a great villain. No real complaints story-wise. Faora was good too.

The four parents were also well-acted, though I really could've done without another fucking rendition of "Superman gets lectured by his dead robot dad who tells him to be Superman because he can't do anything by himself." It's not something unique to MoS (first movie did that too), but it so dumb and bad and takes away all agency from Superman himself and reduces him to only doing what other people tell him to, and never making his own choices.

And then there was Pa Kent... unlike Waid, I really hated the way he was handled. Pa Kent should not be telling Clark to hide away and let people die. The raison d'être for the Kents is to instill in Clark the values he holds as Superman, to put the needs of others over those of himself, and to never, ever give up. Instead Pa Kent argues against all that, and Clark's dead space dad tells him exactly what to do. Kinda defeats the message of Earth being better than Krypton and the former avoiding the latter's mistakes. And while the Pa Kent scenes are well acted and moving, they ring hollow. And his death scene is just really dumb and silly.

Cavill was decent, I guess? I didn't get a good read on him as Superman, and you don't get a good look at his "Metropolis Clark" persona, which is literally half of the Superman character. He does sure look amazing, though. That chest. Hnnnng.

Amy Adams feels miscast, which is a shame because I think Amy Adams is great. But she just didn't feel like Lois. At all. Maybe it was just the script, but the right actor should've been able to get around that. And her story is pretty awful. Lois shouldn't have figured out the secret identity so easily. Eventually she should figure it out, but not so soon. And so easily. (I guess the military can't figure it out because they are banned from IHOP, or something)

And then, more Superman is Jesus shit, ugh. Not as overbearing as Returns, but he's 33 years old, really? And that pose when jumping out of Zod's ship? REAAAAALLLLLY? C'mon.

So Pete Ross kinda got the short end of the stick here, huh? Except... who gives a shit about Pete Ross, honestly.

Oh and I guess Professor Hamilton is dead? Or trapped in the Phantom Zone, at least. Meh. But, who will build Superman's lead suit now?

I'm sure the sequel will be pretty. But I do not have high hopes that it will be any good.

This really pissed me off. Specifically the fact that the neck snap wasn't in the original script, but then Snyder wanted it for dumb reasons, and Nolan asked DC, and they were like "lol whatever", and so we get contrived heat vision climax. Guuuh. Fuck you DC. You suck so much now.

It definitely seemed to be another dimension. The portal was orbiting Krypton and I guess had some sort of failsafe that took Zod 'n' friends out of the Zone.

Oh, that's easy. He could NOT PUNCH FAORA/ZOD DIRECTLY INTO BUILDINGS. And maybe punch them into places further.and further from populated areas.
