MEMO knows what he's talking about. Character's decent but don't shrug off good critiques as nitpicking, he's trying to help you make better characters.

Why is it that every time I come to a thread like this, some small miscommunication is always getting blown way out of proportion.

Y'all ALL need to chill tf out. Hairline & co.: It was very clearly a joke. No one's trying to get at anyone else, it's very obviously meaningless fun. I get being frustrated on someone's behalf, but Falcon defused it after the first couple responses. Bigging up drama on someone else's part or calling someone a racist (!!!) isn't solving anything. Relax.

Walruslui and co.: Nobody has an ego, and it's not your place to tell people what they can and can't be offended by. No situation has ever been defused by telling someone to chill BUT THEN saying they have an ego or are "whiteknighting". Either be an actual mediator or shush, but don't add fuel to the fire. Relax.

God forbid there's ever a release thread about the release and not ridiculous drama.

The stance already looks much more fluid. The basics and moves are still a little choppy but its a step in the right direction. Continue along this trajectory and you'll have a killer on your hands, animation-wise!

For the best. I love Alpha 3 but it's undeniable that SF2 would sell better. Honestly, it doesn't even need a graphical update. Just give me an online edition to Alpha Anthology and I'll be right as rain.

No, I saw his feedback post. It wasn't anything special, most of his posts had the air of being entitled and needlessly salty. Mostly posted for JZ's joke, he was ACTUALLY breaking down some good feedback. Nothing dickish about that!

Posting your combo video to try and prove that you know what you're talking about, however, is pretty bad form.

I don't the guys were as heated about that as much of its kind of a trigger when people adopt the "This is for fun" attitude in LIEU of accepting feedback. It sort of portrays the message (regardless of original intention) that you don't need to improve or accept any of the many issues in a character because its in progress or not meant to be taken seriously. I'm sure that's not what you meant, but I think Chuchoryu kind of ate up everyone's patience for not taking criticism so anything that sounds like it is a red flag.


Threads like this are usually just miscommunications and ultimately end up being head-butting ego trips. I think just acknowledge that everyone wants you to improve (both the character and as a creator in general) and take some of the straightforward criticism on the chin and improve it (because there ARE some really glaring issues with this character)
And JZ, Darkflare and Ruine: note that he's not deflecting criticism. To me it just seems like this release is not a priority; while obviously there are some big problems it doesn't mean he's rejecting notes to avoid improving.


We'll all be just fine fam, everybody cool the jets a bit and it'll be okay.

Right of the bat, his sprites need a revamp whenever you do your update business. His standing animation needs more frames (it looks very stiff and jumpy as is), and his legs don't move which looks really bad. I would also take a closer look at his proportions; his head/face is too big for his body. Similar thing with his basics, they do not have enough frames so they look stiff, and his body parts change size proportionately on some moves. And these are all visual impressions, before even testing the character.


That being said, this is a VERY solid effort and it's nice to see you consistently improving with each project. Just take a little bit more time with your animations now that you've gotten the hang of drawing nice sprites. Good job and good luck!

Probably abysmal, and should only be taken as relative if anything (though I think that's what you might be getting at anyway).

The FGC has been a slooooow come up, accessibility and technology have like just now made THESE numbers possible.
