Stance looks good. I'm actually more curious about the SF4 Ryu Stance, I'd like to see that even if it won't be used.
As for now it's animated and works, but like the others I think it could use one more frame before the fists are fully clenched. Noticing the left (artist's right) arm at the elbow joint it really jumps right as the fist closes. Decent idea, and I second the idea of the SF4 Ryu stance
I'd rather he'd animate the stance ideas first before he settles on one, but hey it's his call. That SF4 Ryu stance sounds really enticing.
Just curious,is the SF4 Ryu stance our of sheer preference,or a callback to the fact that they shared the same English VA?
I don't see what the deal is, I like it. I mean sure the hands are a little strange, but I see what he's trying to do with them. Maybe it's jittery, but I see it as fitting. It's calm and focused. Very true to Gohan.
The kind of jump it has to the clenched fist sprite was intentional. Here's a hint of what his shoto stance'll look like:
that looks way taller than his attacks.Whats next in line for him? I think his moveset was already fully sprited, wasnt it?
Yes, there's nothing left but the coding of Finishers, and spriting more winposes/intro's.Yeah that shoto stance might look good but it's probably gonna look weird transitioning into most of his attacks. Will see about that.
That Ryu stance doesn't really fir Gohan. İ think you should take a look at Guile, Guy, Charlie, Yun and Yang. They have all decent poses. Especially Guy wich has a good and calm stance. That could definitly work for Gohan.
Stance looks perfectly fine to me. Doesn't need any more frames, but I definitely think there is some room for improvement in the timing of the animation. Even subtle tweaking can make a huge difference. Here's what I got after fiddling with the timings a bit:You could even get something like this:I didn't draw a single pixel. There's more to animation than just adding frames.
Perfect! and finally someone that actually agrees with me on that! You dont know the ammount of good spriting you can see wasted on some forums due to terrible timings.
Please don't use the shoto stance. I like the stance as it is, & I agree with the timing. You should take into account that gohan's a speed based character. So if anything: his frames should actually move faster, BUT be more fluent. and if there's anything about the stance I'd change, I'd make him blink, give him a slight smirk (occasionally), & redo the motion on his fingers. They're kinda moving in a weird way.that's basically it, but for the most part. This animation is still great, no matter what you decide.
