More KR OOO novel.
Spoiler: it's still good. (click to see content)
So the Greeeds (at least Uva and Narrator) wonder what kind of Yummy would come out of the King, and if they all tossed a Cell Medal at him, would it make 5 Yummies or a very strong one. But they're not friends, though, they just have a similar goal and are threatened by the King. Narrator doesn't even trust the other Greeeds, especially since he's the one who got the most Core Medals stolen by the King and thus is the weakest. Especially Cazali could even be expected to join the King for shit 'n giggles if it could help him (because Cazali is smart and cunning and makes plans). Their only faith is their desire, it's just a matter of time before they all stab each other in the back (and Narrator feels he's the one who is the least like the others, he barely feels a part of their group). Still, they all want to defeat the King ; Uva was the fastest so he had the least Core Medals stolen, but a first attempt from him to steal Core Medals back fails pathetically.
Narrator wants a strong Yummy, so he heads to a deep forest, and spots a powerful desire. Ever since he was born and after his dream, he can't see colors, can't smell, and can barely tell the difference between hot and cold, but not taste. But when finding someone with a big desire, the Greeds see the desire : the world looks golden for someone who wants money etc.
So Narrator spots someone in the forest, who gives of a pitch-black desire ; he wonders if it's someone who wants to destroy the world / shroud it in darkness. And he finds... a little girl, probably 8 years old. She asks if he's a bird because he makes the sound of feathers, and when she runs to hug him (instead of running away in fear), she feels his feathers. Narrator pushes her back, and when she trips on a tree root, he realizes she's blind (also he cares). She asks if he's blue, because her (dead) mother once told her that a blue bird meant great luck. He asks her about her desire, and she says she wants to see the beautiful world. Narrator thinks, just like me.
So he pops a Cell Medal into her forehead.
So, the Greeeds are still shown as victims, not bad guys, showing why they have those desires, like it's completely normal for them to want to get their world back.
(yes I'm dubbing Ankh "Narrator" because his name still hasn't been revealed, it feels like it can still turn out to be a plot point and that would be nice)
I was thinking, maybe the books are meant to cover the big theme behind the series, summing up the whole show in one book : OOO shows all kinds of greed and desires, W is a detective mystery, Kabuto is maybe about identity and the right to live a normal life... That would explain why they don't necessarily all explain all the plot holes.

Spoiler: Daily dose of KR OOO novel lunch break summary (click to see content)
After Ankh (his name is given in a little bit and it's not a big deal, they just never used it until then) popped a Cell Medal in the girl, it cuts to Ankh trying to infiltrate the King's castle to kill him and/or get some Core Medals back. He gets in, and find... Cazali. After playing around a while with Ankh unsure if Cazali had the same idea as him or betrayed the Greeeds, along with the King joining and Cazali leaving, it turns out Cazali did sell out the others' plans.
The King chats with Ankh for quite a while, talking about greed-related stuff, such as...
both Cazali and Ankh acted exactly like the King thought they would (splendid !) because of their greed - they both did everything they could think of to gain what they wanted (Cazali was supposed to betray the Greeeds at the last minute of the all-out battle that was sure to come, and Ankh would at least hold to the little he has left when faced with a desperate situation like this one - Ankh starts running away)
the strong steal what they want, and the weak see what they want stolen from them (Ankh knows he wouldn't have his greed if he never had the dream from the very beginning)
the King wants to rule the whole world, and that includes if people create new gods, he want to be stronger than them
he gave life to the Greeeds just for the sake of taking everything from them (at first he didn't care to create life and he could have used the Core Medals right then, but the alchemists convinced him and he liked to watch the Greeeds be born) and he thinks that destroying the Core Medals would make the Greeeds be born as an existence that can die (Ankh is scared to think how that would be) and possibly give birth to a new Greeed, whose strength he could then steal (and kick the ass of the others even harder)
in Ankh's current situation (trapped in the castle with only a chance to escape and never return), Ankh asks the King what he would do, since he can't let him go, and the King says he wants to rule him - this include taking everything from him and then making a deal.
Also the King shows Ankh a magic beast part dog part eagle, and rips its heart out then show it still beating to Ankh, just to scare the shit out of him.
It's kinda funny to watch the Greeeds be the hunted, this time around.

So Ankh left with his tail between his legs, and he wants to go see the girl - he doesn't care about betraying the other Greeeds, but the girl did remind him of how it was when he was a king, and when faced with the possibility of being really "born", he fears death and seeks comfort like a dumb human. It's raining and he remembers in his dream that he didn't like the rain slowing him down, preventing him from going higher, getting wet - now he doesn't feel all that, it's like he's wearing an armor that blocks all sensations.
Finally we have a description of what the Yummy (from the girl) actually does... She wanted to see, so her Yummy needs to let her see. The Yummy is a condor because it has the best eyesight, going high and spotting preys and diving to kill them. The Yummy does the same : he flies high, spots a human, dives, and gouges their eyes out. Then he brings the eyeballs to the girl, and crushes them above her head : the blood and fluids run down her face, and when it reaches her eyes, she can see the beautiful sceneries the victim saw.
The girl loves the sceneries, and she describes what she sees to Ankh, who is reminded of his dream.
So Ankh runs to her for comfort in the middle of the night, waits until she wakes up (by studying the run-down shop she lives in, he figures out she's on her own and was supposed to die when he met her in the forest), but this time she isn't so eager to describe the sceneries she saw. It turns out the Yummy's last victim was... The girl's father. She saw his memories of beating her up regularly, and, when she stood up, finally blinding her with his own hand.
Wow, this got creepy real fast. First with Ankh describing the things the Yummies do like it's nothing, the girl being happy about it (maybe she doesn't realize what's that thing running down her face) and then this.
