Might as well whet your appetite with this preview video.



Not everything is in right now. I still need to add in some sounds and dust for running and dashing, maybe some new sound effects for the rolls, and that one hitspark for crouching medium punch needs serious fixing. But lemme explain briefly what's happening.
  • All characters follow a L > M > H basic chain. Mediums are accessed by pressing L a second time after the first L. So what you're seeing is actually something like LP > LP > HP, or LP > LK > HK. This applies to crouching normals as well.
  • Jumping normals are only Lights and Heavies, and don't chain.
  • Evasive dodge and roll exist to replicate the sidestep mechanic from the original game. I'm on the fence about including "roll cancelling" - cancelling the last few frames of a dodge roll into a special move to give it invincibility.
  • Throws are on C. If the opponent hits Throw within the first ten frames of the animation, they'll perform a throw escape.

The next update will be to add short hops as an alternate jump, enabling easier links from jumping attacks, as well as the Dramatic Counter system. Stay tuned for partial excitement!

Why are you moving the animations like that? I don't see how that is relevant to my point. Did you think "faster" meant moving animations left and right more quickly?

my feedback was regarding this.
Did I say "delete all of the sprites immediately"? No.
Is the motion different? Yes.
Did I note some differences between the animation in the game and the one he made? Yes.

Running = jumping forward a bit with each step. (both feet should be in the air for a small period of time before landing)
Walking, or in this case marching = there's no period of time when both feet are in the air. One foot moves you forward, one foot leaves the ground, the one moving you forward goes back, the one that left the ground "lands" and it's in front of you, you move forward with it, the one in the back leaves the ground, etc. . There's always one foot on the ground when walking.

That is all. To be honest this looks like arguing for the sake of arguing. I don't want to partake in it.

I'll say though, those sprites look very accurate to the style. :thumbsup: Great work all around.

I've tested your new character and noticed some few flaws:

-His 5B didn't play a sound and it occurs short debug flood.
-His 236C's hitbox is huge that he can hit standing large opponents from corner. (Potemkin, for example)
-His Ultra Burst hitbox is also huge comparing to the rest of characters from OHMSBY and other authors.
-He can't dodge during air dash.

His Ultra Burst hitbox is normal and he can dodge during air dash now.
Still I have not been clear about how the debug flood occurs, sorry for this.

So you are moving the stage elements around via ModifyBGCtrl?

I did that for all my old MK interactive stages and the MKvsSF stage. It was a hassle because you have to fake the deltas instead of using actual camerawork.

You have a Discord contact?

Yeah, I wait until the character passes the new floor level than I offset the stage and characters down by 345 pixels. There should be no problem with y deltas if you time it right, but MK3 stages don't have much vertical scrolling so I haven't tested that extensively or anything.

I think I already have you on Discord from awhile back? I can explain better there if you'd like

Apparently Somehow the screenpack background image for the title screen, options, character select, versus and even win screen won't even show up
it only shows a black background image
and i'm using mugen 1.1

The animation is ok.

The frenzy chain is also ok as it is now, I like it. Height is good, he raised it to not trip and fall while running, and the belly as a canvas allows you to see the motion.
