If you want to use the lifebars simply put "fight = neon/fight.def" on your favorite ScreenPack's system.def file. ;)

If some people need the lifebars only, I'll released it.

Hello, I'm having a bit of a tough time trying to install your screenpack. I am currently using the latest version of Mugen 1.0 and once I try and install it, I go to play it, but it doesn't change anything.

Could you possibly make a simple explanation on how to install it correctly please? ^^

Of course man, no problem.

first, you can use many ScreenPack's on a mugen folder, unziping files in new folder in data folder [mugen/data/(screenpack name)]
to uses the screenpacks you can uses 2 methods:
1- open mugen.cfg on data ditectory & change "motif =data\system.def" for "motif =data\neon\system.def" & run mugen.exe

2-create a shotrcut to mugen.exe, right click on shortcut and select propierties, on destiny field add " -r neon/system.def", it should look like "[your mugen dir]/mugen.exe -r neon/system.def", then apply/ok button and run shortcut. [if destiny field it's between " " add -r neon/system.def into quotes (ej: "[your mugen dir]/mugen.exe -r neon/system.def")]

(change "neon" for screenpack's folder name if you want uses other screenpack)
remember add your chars & stages on data/neon/select.def to add into neon screenpack  :sugoi:

Thank you for that. Also I have one more question. ^^ Once I get into the select screen, my cursor starts almost near the bottom, not allowing me to start at the top of the select screen, is there any way to fix that?

Go in the DATA folder.
Open SYSTEM.DEF
search for the line :

 ;Character select definition
[Select Info]


Under this search for :

p1.cursor.startcell = ----

Change it to :

p1.cursor.startcell = 0,6

And for player 2 search for

p2.cursor.startcell = ----

Change it to :

p2.cursor.startcell = 0,17

That's it!

so i'm attempting to do whatever with mugen 1.0 and this sp for the first time.

my start screen look off compared to other images...



and when fighting, lifebars and fonts all misplaced...



not to mention, i did the trick with the start cell garuda posted about and it start in a non char slot off to left.

plz help

what exactly was that supposed to do? because the screen pack works fine for me and i didn't use that code

I think there could be one of 2 errors
It's not set to 640x480
OR
You downloaded the WinMugen SP

Please check resolution on mugen.cfg, change to
GameWidth = 640
GameHeight = 480

probably you uses 1280X960 or was change video options

if not work try in new mugen copy folder or replace mugen.cfg with original file from mugen zipped

thank you btw, fit my needs perfectly.

feedback:
- some of the ;end of line # are misplaced in the select.def file resulting in having to double check the file after playing
- not a fan of "char" used in the open slots as opposed to "randomselect"
- would like a loading animation or screen when everything loading up as opposed to black screen
- sometimes random alt ports show up on the win screen instead of 9000,1. even got a hyper port 1 time. can't figure out why that happening

So i was right

To change that go to the system.def file, and under
[Victory Screen]
Change
p1.spr = 9000,2
To
p1.spr = 9000,1

That should fix it

The ScreenPack is finished & I don't think update again to add/edit something, but you can add/edit it  :)

Definately one of the better screenpacks I've used.  Like the 500+ character screen addon, too!

now if only I had that many decent characters...

It's honestly better if you have fewer characters you use a lot, after some cleaning yesterday i saw i had 100 characters i never used, narrowing my roster down to 80

Problem is getting characters who don't play in the combo-rific jumpy-spazz style of MvC.

On topic: This screenpack is pretty nice with one exception, and its driving me nuts because I don't know how to fix it.  On the character select screen (and JUST there, all other screens are fine) at the correct resolution, long character names (Takuma Sakazaki, looking at you) scroll way off the screen. Problem is getting characters who don't play in the combo-rific jumpy-spazz style of MvC.

On topic: This screenpack is pretty nice with one exception, and its driving me nuts because I don't know how to fix it.  On the character select screen (and JUST there, all other screens are fine) at the correct resolution, long character names (Takuma Sakazaki, looking at you) scroll way off the screen. I could definitely read the font if it was still the same size as the one that goes on the healthbars, is there any way you could fix that, or anyone here could tell me how to do it?

Ok, check it for fix it:

on system.def file scearch for
;Name
p1.name.offset = 130,206;120,206  ;Position to put name
p1.name.font = 2,0,-1     ;Set to -1 for no display
p2.name.offset = 508,206
p2.name.font = 2,0,1

the last value in the font defines name align, 1 to left align [char name     ] and -1 to right align [    char name], change this values to show names into screen, remember change offset values to correctly position of names too...

I'm having problems going from one character select "block" to the next. You know how there are four of them? Well, how do I go between them with the cursor? I start on the one farthest to the left, and since I filled my roster out from top to bottom, its empty and I apparently can't move the cursor over the empty slots. Nonetheless, even if I re-adjusted my roster to fill the box I have access to, how do I move between them anyways?

try to go to system.def file and look for the character select definition then change

Go in the DATA folder.
Open SYSTEM.DEF
search for the line :

 ;Character select definition
[Select Info]


Under this search for :

p1.cursor.startcell = ----

Change it to :

p1.cursor.startcell = 0,6

And for player 2 search for

p2.cursor.startcell = ----

Change it to :

p2.cursor.startcell = 0,17

That's it!

Tanks Gara!, really look great, I was uses a SD monitor when update lifebars to 1.0 and don't display correctly the image :P

I really like this SP.   Mine of choice.

I DLed Gara's patch to use also.  Just two questions:

When rounds are about to start,  the word fight is still on screen and the people are already starting to move before word fight goes off screen.

Also,on the win screen, is there any way to add a little more space on name display above the win quotes?  I.e., if I put Yuri Sakazaki there's hardly a space between the first and last name how can I fix this?

you'll probably have to edit the font-file for that, but I'd suggest you better ask that in the helpsection.
