You look nothing like I ever imagined. You look more what I would expect a soccer bully to look like than someone as... book-worn as you are.

Don't think I could contend until they introduce a flyweight class of ridiculously thin soccer bully scarecrows... ;)

o_O

I'm curious to know how you do that---imagining what the person whose words you're reading might look like. We even had a topic about, err, what voice, in your mind, does the poster above you have? Surprised the hell out of me. Some people assign voices to posts they read?? Wow.

Now unless you dropped hints about your figure, hair, eyes, voice, something to do with that---I can't for a second imagine what anybody might look like. Can't do it, can't conjur up any visual images or voices to go with posts. Not a single one. You could look or sound like anything. Could be purple and sound like a banshee.

I could sort of understand if somebody draws up images from posts of a seemingly very Z-ish person, and pictures this person in his head as somebody who looks very Z-ish. Then if that person ever shows a picture of him or herself, you could say, yes or no, you look or you don't look like I imagined: like how I imagine a very Z-ish dude to look or not. But that's not a really visual image, more like a, a, I dunno, an impression of attitudes, stuff like, angry, friendly, whatever.

But does it ever get more specific than that, visually, and if so---how do you do it?? Automatically, by courtesy of spatial and musical intelligence (you know that theory of multiple intelligences?) I lack? Bastards.

It's not like it's strange, I'm sure lots of people online do it (hell, I do). You interact with your compadres online long enough the curiosity is subconsciously bound to come up sooner or later.

A tad similar to what you say, your image for instance, you dont look nearly as book wormish as I would ve expected, you are tall slim and "sharp" looking, edgy edges and blonde hair. a more common image for someone as book-wormish and quote derived as you are lies usually on other stereotypes that arent as kind as "thin athletic and sharp".
I would have expected at least glasses and a image more akin of someone that is overall... rounder? I guess?
Hard to explain what you expect from persons after reading them for a few years and never seeing them live.

Yes it is. It's so strange, it's sounds completely alien... to me. Sooner or later? Not even for those I've been interacting with since I first went online. :(

Also, have you ever tried doing a Chain Drive with those sunglasses?

No but that would be an excellent excuse for breaking them to get a new pair---and preferably in a color that harmonizes better with my skin tone this time... maybe later. >:)
