What the actual hell? I was JUST on there a couple days downloading a few characters for nostalgia sake. Wow. Mugen just feels a bit bleak these days, man.

Personally, I'd probably just go with The_None if I could only choose one. The guy just has the greatest range I've ever seen. Not only is he capable of some of the most creative custom creations, but is clearly skilled in accurate conversions when he wants. Total package, quite frankly.

The big mess that was on the character page is definitely gone, but unfortunately, this still shows up whenever I attempt to download anything:

Hope this isn't to big of a picture.

Very unfortunate timing since I'm personally switching computers. Wayback machine worked around some of this, but not all characters are available even with the help of the site. I'm sure the site will sort itself out at some point. Was just worried that it had something to do with my computer!

Anybody else facing this issue when they visit his site? I haven't seen it mentioned around here so I figured I'd make a thread.

You know, I think the term "racist" might be the wrong word for it. Calling something very Japanese doesn't mean I think of myself as better than them. Just that they have quirky taste. I think people call racism on things too quickly, it's misused a lot. And plus, "what characters outweird the_none?" wouldn't work but that's not really what i'm asking. Japan is just home to a very distinct sense of humor.

It's like if I called a bacon firework burger "very American". It totally IS very American, nothing racist about it.

This thread went in a strange direction.

The Most "Japanese" Characters?

What characters that have been made do you feel are the most "Japanese"? And we're not being racist here, you know what I mean. Ideas that surface from Japan are some of the most quirky, insane, weird, even awkward things on the planet. The same goes for creations on Mugen.

If I had to pull a couple of examples off the top of my head, i'd say:

Mukuro by Ahuron - A lot of his creations are good examples as well, but I think this is the best example.

Yatteyaru-Death by funnyvent
- A character that is literally just an anime girl's head walking by her hair, and apparently is a parody of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

And I think a character called "Nico" that basically is several Japanese memes compiled into one character. Can't get much more Japanese than that.

Hwaorang by Silver (Updated by RMH)

This updated version of Hwaorang was removed from its original download source a little while ago. It was updated by RobotMoneyHead. The original Hwaorang is still out there, but it just seems to have an "unfinished" feel to it at this point. I'm not sure if anybody has this version anymore, but if you just so happen to still have, I'd highly appreciate it if you could lend it to me. :) Here's the original thread, just as a reference.

Most fun choices when playing Mugen with group?

I feel like Mugen has great potential to be a very fun party game. It's not really about how balanced the roster gets, it's about how off-the-wall the fights can become. Problem is that, some of them more solid characters just aren't that interesting to play with when fighting against friends.

As fun as playing through arcade mode can be, I think the most fun I had with Mugen was when I played it with a friend, and had "Silver Surfer" hidden in my roster. I tricked him into thinking that I input a cheat to play as the most powerful characters, which became a laugh riot when he died in one hit. Or when he selected Goku, and I selected a Mario character that was accurate to the first game. Again, laughs were had.

So, what are the best choices for having a laugh with friends?

The Most Properly Broken Mugen Roster Possible?

This is a very self-centered, specific thread I just created, but I felt it was just worth making. I'm looking for suggestions for a certain kind of roster I'm attempting to make, the focus being on the broken nature of mugen.

1) Characters that are accurate to their source, to the point that they don't fit within the fighting game genre.
-Examples: NES Mario by hsiemtm, Scrooge Mcduck by Caddie

2) Characters that originate from fighting games, that are properly accurate to their source, to the best of mugen's ability
-Example: Urien by RajaaBoy. At least he seems pretty damn accurate

3) Characters that are not accurate to their source, and have custom feature that still makes them rather outlandish for a proper fighting game, yet still hold some characteristics of a fighting system.
-Examples: Clone Koa by Daniel99999, Mukuro by Ahuron, or Soccer/Football Len

4) Characters that are purposely made to be terrible for comedic value.
-Examples: Silver Surfer by Ahuron, Chameleon by Adamlexus, even Magikarp by NeoKamek

This is extremely specific and I'm asking for an awful lot here, especially since I'm fairly new. But the way I'm playing is an awful lot of fun, and it'd certainly be very cool to get further suggestions.

I recently discovered that this gem is offline. I have had precisely zero luck in finding an alternate link, not even through other people's request threads. Does anybody still have this character, and would be nice enough to lend me a link to it? Thanks in advance.

I'm a bit weary of this show, honestly. Excited and I feel a raging nostalgia boner coming on, (lol.) but I was very disappointed with Battle of the Gods. Haven't seen return of F though. Anybody see it believed it to be any good?

It honestly really wasn't a good fight in general. Pacman was going to have to catch Floyd slipping in order to really do anything. Problem is, you're never going to catch him slipping, so pacman clearly couldn't fight the way he usually does. It just wasn't a very exciting fight. Everytime Pacman flurried mayweather, it'd entice some reaction of excitement, followed by disappointment when I realized that literally NONE of those punches did anything. That was like, the whole fight. Pacman attempting to catch Floyd with a decent punch, MAYBE getting like, one or two good hits on him, while Floyd slowly chipped away at Pac-man. Floyd's a mega douche, but he clearly knew what he was doing, way more than pac-man did.

At least we can say that pac-man lost, not that he got the shit beat out of him. It even took a little while for Floyd to get REALLY comfortable. But, yeah, by the last two rounds he was pretty much toying with him. Oh well. Least I still have the Avengers to look forward to.

...And honestly, I prefer UFC, anyway. Probably not gonna get another boxing PPV after this one.

What a highly credited criticism. Boxing must be dead, which is why it made a billion dollars off of one fight. If you wanna watch two idiots punch each other without strategy, go watch a bum fight.

Boy. I was honestly rooting for Pacman during the fight, but seeing Floyd's haters get all sour and such actually makes me rather glad Floyd did win. Wouldn't hear anybody complain about hugging if that strategy didn't work.

Well, that, and Manny's inability to touch him even when he isn't hugging him scores the most as well. Along with all of the hits connected outside of this hugging. You may not like it, but Floyd totally controlled that fight. Fights aren't won and lost dictated by what the crowd is pleased by.

fucking judges what match are they watching! floyd landed pretty decent shots but it wasn't enough to give him the win!

He got in 140 shots while Pacman got in 80. Floyd controlled most of the rounds he was in, Pacman clearly had no idea what to do with Floyd. Just look at Pac's face by the end of the match in comparison to Floyd's. This wasn't even close, Floyd won by A LOT.

too many bullshit strategy used by Mayweather, it is almost like watching heavyweight match, why can't he just fight like normal middle weight fighters.

How is choosing to not get hit a bs strategy? Have you ever heard of chess? It's better to chip away at your opponent, make them mad, rather than throw punches and hope they hit. You may not like it, but it's smart.

Definitely not the fight I saw.
I would give this one to Pacquio. He attacked much more, landed more punches.

Those punches weren't hitting anything. Most of his punches were hitting his gloves and shoulders. That's not a landed punch. He certainly THREW more punches, but quality > quantity.

You are absolutely right, but I'm only comparing S02 of Agents to DD and Agents wins because it's more tied up to MCU and movies where DD have very little connection to it. And story is big mystery to me. I'm never sure what I'm gonna see in next episode unlike DD where it follows (mosty) the same pattern each episode: DD go in the city, bad guys attack him, he beats them up, he gets info where other bad guys are, circle repeats. And it's like that in every episode.

I actually think the lack of a clear connection is what makes DD better. Agents of Shield, I always felt lacked a true identity, as it is more of an extension of the movies, just not as good as the movies. DD is a class of its own, and that's something Marvel TV needed.

Also, that pattern takes up a pretty small portion of each episode. In some episodes, he only dons the mask for 5 minutes. You can make that generalization for just about any television show, they all fall into some sort of pattern. But that's definitely dumbing down what each episode brings to the table.

People who review this show are mostly huge comic fans (while I;m not) and because other comic tv shows are so weak, they see Daredevil & say "OMG AWESOME!1!1!11! 10/10"

This is also a very silly assumption to make.
