those aren't actually not my pics, but it's funny, and I have the same thing. Honest:

See, there's my copy, seen here in a particularly risque shot with the Zeta Gundam. Very naughty.

It's great. The binding, the paper stock, it's all amazing quality stuff. The artwork really pops with this paper:


But there are some... odd things. Like the front cover, it's pretty boring and that transparent box is pretty cheesy. And yet it was the only one Sunrise would approve. Bizarre. There's also the back cover:

Seriously, that doesn't tell you anything. "The epoch-making initial season that set new standards for verisimilitude," really? It sounds like someone went wild with a thesaurus on a perfectly normal paragraph. And it doesn't provide any information about the book at all! Why mention "the most celebrated of the influential series' students" if you're not gonna actually say it's Hideaki Anno, the creator of Evangelion?!?! THIS IS CRAZY

The translation is also a bit stiff:

"I'm being made to war" is technically correct, but it's so archaic and unnatural. There are a few other examples of this kind of thing, but it's not a dealbreaker, and the rest of the translation is solid. Combined with the great quality printing, it's a very worthy purchase.

So go buy a copy, will ya? There's only gonna be one print run, so once they're gone, they're gone for good. And don't forget to preorder the rest of the volumes cause they're determining the number of copies they print based on preorders!

I hope those aren't France exclusive hardcovers so that I can nab them in the states...it is after all my Batman month.

I say this because I remember going to Argentina and getting a few Hulk and Spawn hardcovers over there and when I got stateside my friend wanted to get them, did some research and an alternate english version of them didn't even exist here then or now.

Anyways...HOLY MOTHERFUCKING BAT-BOOKS, CYBASTER!  :thumbsup:

Haha, thanks man. I honestly have no idea. Some of the comics that come out nowadays are reeditions of old ones, with different covers, so I think the editor basically puts what he wants.
