I know I've been buying a lot of video game stuff, but as you all know, I'm also a huge classic movie collector. Especially on The Criterion Collection. So when they had a flash sale on March 10th and everything was half off, I knew what I had to do.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you the Zatoichi Box Set, courtesy of The Criterion Collection.

Who is Zatoichi? He's a blind swordsman. Read this for more info. Anyway, Zatoichi is THE longest-running movie series in Japan. Godzilla ain't got shit on him. Well, now he does, but Zatoichi is still in the lead so far if you count the reboots and the American remake. In case you're curious, yes, Guilty Gear's Zato-1 is named after him, and there was a Boondocks episode that referenced the films.

This Box Set has the original 25 movies.

"BUT JANGO," you say, "THAT LOOKS BORING." Well that's just the case!

Opening it up, it comes with an album of the movies as well as a fucking book. The book has essays on all of the films, as well as techincal details on the restoration process. It's quite interesting if you wanted to know more about the movies/themes, as well as how they went about restoring these movies.

"BUT JANGO," you continue, "I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE BOOK, TELL ME ABOUT THE MOVIES." Well let's open up the album.

All of the movies are spread out on 9 Blu-Rays. 3 per disc, with the last disc containing the last movie and a shitload of specal features, such as an interview with Asian-film critic Tony Rayns, trailers for all of the movies, and an entire fucking documentary on the life of Shintaro Katsu.

"BUT JANGO," you blather on, "I CAN'T PLAY BLU-RAYS. THIS SET SUCKS." Well first of all, get a Blu-Ray player you caveman. Second, I've got you covered. I just have to lift a flap on the page opposite of the Blu-Ray and...

DVD versions. Two movies per disc with some odd ones on single discs, and a disc devoted entirely to the special features. Obviously I have no use for these, but at least I have loaner copies that I won't give a shit about losing if someone wants to borrow one!

So yeah this set is great and I will eventually watch and review EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. LOOK FORWARD TO IT.

It's a shame we have to die, my dear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
What a way to go, but have no fear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
It's a shame we have to disappear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time, this time, this time

Oh, my group's already quite used to wasted rolls.  Last session we ran into a boss fight and spent a solid 20 minutes with everyone, boss included,  randomly flailing their weapons around in the air hitting jack shit.

so, this finally arrived today (picture not taken by me):

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GN648WG/?&tag=businessnewsdaily-20

it was pretty nice finding it at the price of 150usd in a mexican store and still getting 30 usd back; the reason I bought that is that I read articles on how styluses for tablets have improved a lot so I wanted to get one in which I could do art, now I need to buy software that does nto feel like android paint as that is how the current one feels. the fact that this is a nvidia/gaming tablet is a nice bonus as it's gaming performance is above tablets that cost 3 times as much as this one, so ti works as a future investment.
