Welcome to my small portrait thread. It's pretty chill here. Just request small portraits and I'll be sure to give you some good ones when I can.
I only got two main rules when regarding requests:

1. I'll only be taking 3 characters per request and only 10 characters maximum in the queue. If you're requesting a portrait for a character you don't want or need, then don't request it at all so I can free up space in the queue for everyone else that does want them.
2. When requesting the character, please leave a link to the download to make it easier for me to make the portrait, I need the .sff file (or at the very least just one indexed sprite) in order to index the small portrait to the sprites to make it convenient for the person requesting. If you don't know where one is then try to just let me know any good places to find it so i'm not looking everywhere for it. If you want the portrait to be based on a particular artwork then include the art in the request and I will use it to make the small portrait.

Also if you see "Requests Closed" on the thread name, you probably get what that means. I do it to either get through a large queue or if i'm taking a break. Usually the former.

Thanks for the portraits. I'm planning to use them for some projects of mine, so I'll be sure to credit you for them. As for Charlie, it would be nice if you add the lens glare to his glasses to make it look like Shadow from MSH vs SF (Just make the lens on his glasses white). If you don't want to, that's fine and can use it as is.

Also, you can just skip Ruby Heart. I forgot to post a link to her, but it's not worth doing as it's still a beta and Buckus never finished it. I'll just use the one she has already.

Some of it is traced, which is evident with characters like my Sagat (CvS2 portrait) and my Dictator (CvS1 portrait) among other things, but others are done completely by me like my Rogue or the Shermie portrait shown above. It just really comes down to how I want to do the portrait. If I am confident in my ability to make that portrait without using art as a loose reference then I will do it by hand, since I am decent at drawing with pen and paper.

I know it’s an odd design choice but I personally preferred using his cartoon appearance because I didn’t like my other attempts at the bob hoskins variant.
I could just go back to the drawing board and just make one that resembles bob hoskins but yeah I preferred using the cartoon variant.

dw Nep, if I ever do need reference art, I will always find what I'm looking for, and I'm good enough to work with just a normal resize in paint 3D, even if there are better methods out there, though I didn't need the reference art for these three ports anyways since I have pretty good knowledge on the basic anime art style that touhou uses, although I did need to look up their names to see what they look like because before making these ports I had no clue who these three were lol

For some reason, the colors on the Mega Man Zero portrait aren't accurate as the parts where his ears are supposed to be white and forcing the specified palette ruined it as the blacks now blend with the skin. I think you might want to fix it.

Edit: Decided to try fixing it myself. This was the first time I used Fighter Factory Studio's image editor so hopefully it turn out well:

However, when I right-clicked and saved this portrait, the portrait was not in index mode and the palette was messed up.

How do I do to save while maintaining the palette of the portrait is?

When you add the portrait in fighter factory, you need to click on "Images palette, if not already added" and then it will give you a drop down menu. Click on "Force the specified palette (adapt the image)" and make sure the palette it's adapting to is palette 1, 1 (group 1, index 1). The portrait will adapt itself to the colors of the character palette, and it should work just fine.

I've done joke sp's in the past, if that's how people want it I don't mind making them, I made a Jotaro small portrait based off of an edit of Jotaro's face named "Jotard" which is entirely meant to be a joke icon

that reminds me, i should also add this: if you want the small portrait to be based on a particular artwork rather than me just doing it myself then make sure to include the art in your request and i will use it to make the small port, since I usually either make the small portrait from scratch or use other art as a reference, whether it is because I think it would look cool or because im not confident in drawing that character.

I feel like the silence is answer enough that he's either:

1. Not doing these anymore,
2. Too busy with other stuff, or
3. Something else we don't know about.

Take it up with him in DMs instead of constantly asking in the thread -- and if you still don't get a response, it's best to just drop it.

Honestly, I just gave up and ended up learning how to do them myself. So I decided to cancel mine a week ago. I started back with Fighter Factory Studio's Image Editor, then used GIMP after FFS stopped working for me.

But don't ask me as I don't do requests and only work with authors for their projects like Ichida and Resentone.

I apologize for not doing it sooner, but I have been taking a break and will continue to take a break from small portraits. Here on out i'll be consistent with when requests are open and closed so there's no confusion. I'll leave the thread locked but i'm under the assumption you will understand my viewpoint and wait until I reopen the requests again.
