yeah, but i'm not active in that and haven't been for awhile! thanks for reminding me i have one alex, i finally posted that i have been busy for the past 2 months which is why i haven't posted anything at all lol
Ok tried being more chill with the sprite this time roundHope it has improved. Thank you for the feedback
It looks like you boys are studying my oldest Z2 sprites, but the style has quite evolved over the years. If you're serious about doing a full character in the Z2 style, it'd better be up to scratch! So here's a current Balthazar take on this bloke. Feel free to use it as you please.
This edit has made me think about this style in a greatly different way. I sincerely thank you for itI decided to use this as a reference and redo him againBefore anyone says, yes i just edited Balts legs. They were perfect, changing them wouldn't help anything much. I edited the upper body hugely to better fit the style, and i hope i succeeded. I still have a lot to learn about this style, but i really do appreciate the edit Does this still fit with the style? If not please tell me whats wrong
Yoshin222 said, October 02, 2016, 02:18:55 pmI edited the upper body hugely to better fit the styleBut if Balthazar himself edited it to make it fit the style...He already fixed it for you, but you made it look worse. You didn't just edit what he did to the legs, you also went back to the old sprite, pasted them in your old sprite and finished it when there was no need.
It really makes me wonder... if you decided upon using parts from Balth's sprite, why didn't you just straight up use his whole sprite? What you did was just plain unneeded and makes no improvements upon his edit whatsoever.
dragon ball super only for see what happen... some edits and prove the functionality of some programasBLACK STANDKI BLAST KI RAFAGA PSYCHO MOVE EX MODE PSYCHO MOVE
I resized and redrew this, but this was based on a sprite by BizaroToroOriginal palleteCPS3Custom PalleteAs to why i edited the sprite, it in all honesty was to help me get a better grip on the style and how it works. I feel if i could edit the sprite but still make it click with the style, then i would be heading in the right direction. Evidently i could not, so i went back to the drawing board on that one. PS: If i can be honest, i disliked the upper body Balt made. His arm seemed too skinny (to me anyway so take that as you will) and he seemed too hunched for what i was going for. I still sincerely appreciate it, as it has taught me a lot, but i just thought i'd be honestPSS(Sorry XD): Motor and August, no offence, but what was the point in either of your posts? It contributed little. Motor less so for it did make me think about things, but August was entirely unnecessary. Tbh Motor to answer your question, i've just always felt weird about straight up using something someone else has made. I know my edits weren't good/worth much but its just been a thing with me. I understand its dumb
not bad, still wish it looked like Die-pods sketch of broly, then edited by balth. Gj BizaroToro on sprite
Yoshin222 said, October 10, 2016, 11:18:05 pmPSS(Sorry XD): Motor and August, no offence, but what was the point in either of your posts? To tell you what to NOT do. That was the point of the post. Every other bit of critique had already been said before that, and some times people need to be told when to stop.Besides, there's nothing wrong about using someone's work as a base if not only the work they made was done in the purpose of fixing your work, but it also serves as a good base for you in terms of animation and reference.@zero de armentis: I'm very curious to know what program you're using, because your animations look unusually jumpy, and that's a pretty bad thing.
Can one of you guys edit and clean up the frame in this gif with smears? Balthazar got fed up with it and I'd like to use it cause it's intenseThanks in advance!
Thats pretty cool dudeand ☺Saint if i can be honest i found that sprite to be, well, kinda messy ^^' not to offend Balt at all. Besides, i thought it would be a better exercise for me to redraw Broly using details from games, anime, official art, etc. I feel its helped me improve somewhat.
From time to time it's good to remember how Balthazar' skills have improved throughout years of practice:People beginning their spriting career shouldn't expect to become the next Balthazar in one day after doing a couple of sprites, so critics should also be soft on their comments, keeping into perspective Balthazar's own evolution. The above picture is a clear example on how hard work results in great sprites. If your sprites nowadays look like Balthazar's first attempts, you are certain that with some practice and hard work, you guys could also achieve the same quality.
