For the two ChangeStates in 5900, add trigger1 = roundno = 1. This will ensure they only play on the first round.

It's under the [WinIcon] section. p1.pos and p2.pos. Last I recall, you can't define icon positions for different game modes, so it'll look wrong in at least one of them.

Characters from Mortal Kombat Project (MKP) aren't meant to be used in regular MUGEN; at the very least, you need to ensure all the files referenced by the character are present.

If you still have Meiling, it'd be worth reuploading it.

I should mention that I do have those four I said I couldn't find, but they're from an old version of GR and have thus been modified. Dunno if you want them, since they're not the actual originals.

Because it has a removetime of -2, which removes the Explod when its animation ends.

It's spawning a new Explod every frame because there's nothing telling it to only spawn one.

The button you press when selecting the character determines the palette they use. The default is usually on either A or X.

It needs to be implemented into the engine, so it's not something you can just add unless you know what you're doing.

He wants the velocities to be increased under a specific circumstance, not to modify the base velocities.

As demonstrated in the code you've provided, the base velocities are applied via VelSets; barring the backhop and jumps, which set the velocity once, this occurs every frame and thus overwrites the VelAdds in -2.

If the HitDef is within a Helper, it's possible the Helper isn't remaining in that state once it hits (either due to an interim state or DestroySelf). The rest of the code within that state will likely answer your question.

Regarding the -2 code, it runs once every tick, which is 1/60 of a second; to humour your example, var(3) would reach 1000 in just over 16.5 seconds, though the reason it doesn't is because it only increments when var(1) is more than 8, which in turn happens once every 9 ticks due to var(1) being set back to 0 immediately after var(3) increments.
