Needs a body under that suit and it'll be better. Show off his pecs/man tits and stomach under the suit, and his feet could be a tad smaller.

Not too keen on the feet or, well, anatomy and muscles in general.

The general proportions are all fucked up - Ryo's torso is too short, and his feet look like they just "pop" out of his pants or some shit. The shading lacks that SF3 look to it, and is totally awry on the arms, face, hair...pretty much the whole sprite. Ryo's clothes lack any folds whatsoever, which alone would make it hard to put this in an SF3 thread. Finally, the face just looks bad, and faces in the wrong direction

Look at SF3 Ryu, Ken, Sean, and Gouki/Akuma for references regarding shading, size, proportions, his gi...again, pretty much everything.

The pant edges could use a little more definition on the bottom (crotch) area so it doesn't look like he's wrapped in a pork bun.

Other than that...AMAZING SPRITE!  8)

Decided to update my old SF3 SFIV Ryu sprite. Colors aren't SF3 but I'll get around to making a complete palette chart for him.

Not gonna lie, I like the older one better. The new one looks more along the style of a Z2 character anyways.

No the new one is better. The only thing the old one has going for it is the palette. The gloves need some more work, and the old face was better. But other than that it's mostly better in every way except for some minor things.

Wow... lol looks like I've gotten to use to the Z2 style. Personally I like the shading on the new one a lot more along with the gloves and such. This new palette looks Z2 so I can see where you see that in him. Hows this look? Replaced the new face with the old. Also fixed the gloves (hardest part to sprite on Ryu). Still like the new face a lot better cause it looks more SFIV.

Nah the old face is better, I know SFIV Ryu has exaggerated facial features but in sprite form it doesn't translate well. Ehhh I wouldn't say you fixed the gloves but they are a little better. I would use lighter dark reds on the outlines. Now it's a pretty decent sprite, not perfect, but I don't want to type too much about what's wrong, because everything that is wrong with it you've must've noticed already by this point.

I've got a pretty good start on this animation so I thought I would share it. Still a lot to do though. I plan on having another animation to go with this one to show his normal stance.(different hand/arm position and some breathing)

Arm straps and moving cloth will be added later too.

body looks fluid and 3dish, but the head looks like a cartoon. Just odd.
