Not really that either, although it seems to borrow some of the color choices from there in terms of using cooler hues for shadowed areas.
Did a random mock up sort of and adjusted a few things with the sprite. It's good to see an original CvS sprite next to an official Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

naw. it's got too much detail to resemble groove on fight. the only thing resembling that is the color scheme.
