Voting independent is also saying that you gamble for 3rd parties to have a better chance 4 years from now. But ultimately probably means Trump will win*. And he's just as shady + incompetent.

*I don't like using the "A vote for x is a vote for y" scenario. But in this case it's more fitting I think because of the huge divide from non republicans. All the republicans will pretty much vote for Trump. While typically more progressive people would vote Democrat in this case they will be split by voting more 3rd party or not voting.

Basically the person you are voting for now determines who gets seats at the senate and with Hillary Bernie may have more influence.

BTW I am still flip flopping on which direction I want to go with my vote. Because I am pretty certain I'll vote Jill Stein if she's on the ballot.

People can say they want about Trump. Ultimately he's a rich village idiot who's unfit to run a country, making bad jokes and hurting people's feelings is the least of problems. Even with that said, Hilary is a much scarier scenario. She's shady, powerful even compared to the average politician, changes her views when it's convenient for her, and has political experience (just like Castro and Jong Il). And voting her is basically saying "I approve of gross, shitty campaign practices, this is what our country is about." Yeah no, fuck outta here.
which policies make her much scarier than Trump?

Her policies I question too, mainly her stance in using militaristic threats as a bargaining point. Her lack of transparency and consistency is what makes it hard to take anything she says seriously.

- War against Iraq: she was in support of it for years when it was decided, something even Trump was against. Only when numbers showed Democrats overwhelmingly opposed the choice years later is when she started to change her position.

- Emphasizes welfare reform she was involved in, but refuses to acknowledge the overwhelming negative effects of it. Basically betraying the very people she claims to wanna help.

- Flip-flops on NAFTA (free trade), most notably during election time (also happened in 2000).

- Gay rights: she claims to be for it now. Back when Bill signed DOMA in 1996, she claimed it was so that Republicans wouldn't ban it altogether, and that her previous stance against it was out of defense. Of course people don't believe this.

This is not touching upon the scandals and what have you. Hillary constantly lies and/or makes mistakes, and has the power to get away with them cause of the Clinton legacy. A leader like that, combined with being pro-war more or less is at best, just as scary as a ignorant blowhard. And sure as hell isn't trustworthy.

Edit: realized more of my post was (valid) criticism of her character than something that answered the question.

Trump himself is not the problem.  It's the Republican party that we need to be wary of.  Have you seen the RNC platform that they're running?  It is an absolutely horrifying afront to human rights and personal freedoms.  Enforcing Christian ideology as a mandatory part of education, complete removal of all legal rights for LGBT people, having food stamps declared unconstitutional, laws actively designed to target Muslims and Latinos;  the list goes on.  For fucks's sake, the GOP is now officially endorsing fucking conversion therapy and trying to declare pornography a menace to public health and safety.  Anyone who is not a straight, white, rich man will be actively persecuted under the republican regime if they win this election.  Donald Trump may be nothing more than a racist orange condom filled with rancid stew, but because he's such a buffoon he's not going to do a goddamn thing to stop a republican congress from doing any of this if they're allowed to.

Hillary may be a corrupt, lying piece of shit, but I'd much rather deal with another couple years of 'business as usual' waffling politicians than see the country handed over to the 4th Reich.

To be fair, porn is like cigarettes. Some people smoke once a month or so, and some people smoke a pack a day. In the latter respect, yes, porn is too readily accessible, especially to children who's first experience with their sexuality is not with another human being, but with their hand and some pixels. In excess, it warps the mind, saps productive and motivational energy, and causes all sorts of sexual dysfunctions so that getting aroused for pixels is easy and getting aroused for your decently attractive spouse is next to impossible. Porn is not harmless and it needs to be treated with more urgency -- like those cigarette adverts that are creepy as fuck that demonstrate the negative aspects of chaining smoking. And yes, addiction stems from the chemicals already produced in the body.

But I digress. I can validly assume hat article is extremely biased and misinformed because the sources are twitter posts.

maybe you don't talk to your decently attractive spouse anymore because romantic love itself is also the temporary product of a chemical reaction, and all that you have as individuals is a shared obligation and resentment

not saying that excessive porn use will be a productive or 'positive' use of time, but on the other side you have the biological lie

all i can see us ending up with if some republican plan came to pass is a sharp increase in teen pregnancies
because the reps will ban pornography sure
and at the same time de-fund planned parenthood and try to limit availability of contraceptives

I'd much rather deal with another couple years of 'business as usual'

then prepare for an eternity of business as usual
it's going to be this election every year if they see that this one worked

The 2016 primary season saw the highest turnout of voters in Republican primaries since 1980, and the second-highest turnout for the Democratic side since 1988. Still, relatively few eligible voters participated in picking the presidential nominees, as usual.
