Title: Freezing Problem with Mugen
Post by: redhot209 on August 31, 2007, 11:35:15 pm
The freezing happens at random during a fight or selecting a option. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also is there any way to change the button sensitivity for mugen, because i do a move and he/she/it doesn't do anything. he/she/it does a move when i press random buttons. For example "a-tu-kent" doesn't even work..

Freezing is probably your PC. You have underlying problems.

Moves, sure you're using the right keys and combinations? Mugen has an options menu. Check that and see if you're actually using the right keys.

You may also be using a character with different commands. Some people make everything QCF even if it wasn't originally.

Not really no. It would vary a lot. First check would be how much ram compared to how much you have loaded. Whether other games freeze, got any spyware or viruses? And so on.

Taking mugen to a mates place for the purpose of trying it out (it runs off a USB key ok) will show you quite quickly that it's not mugen causing the freezes.

If your sound board uses the c-media chipset, or c-media AC97 based codecs, there is the reason your mugen is freezing at random.

Other than turning of sound hardware acceleration through DXDiag (which may not solve the problem), the only thing you can do is buy a new sound card. Preferably one with a Realtek or a SoundBlaster chipset.

My mugen froze alot too.If you really want it to stop freezing you'd better get yourself two 512MB memory chips to increase the Ram.It'll certainly keep your game from freezing since your PC will have so much memory.
