Hey everyone! Sorry for leaving this stage without an update for so long, that changes today!

- Stage now includes separate def files for each time of day
- Changed the music file to ogg
- Lowered the characters position on screen
- Added a transparent effect to the mushroom
- Removed shadows

Sadly, I didn't get to adding any parallax effects yet, but...

I've updated the stage, increased the leftbound and rightbound (hopefully it works properly now) and fixed a visual error with Chack'n on the far right side of the stage. Video preview has also been added.

With today being Taito's 70th Anniversary, Scepter and I bring you our latest stage. A celebration of all things Taito! The stage comes in two versions, one with the breaking news intro and HUD and one without them.

From my understanding, due to being made before SF4 this Gouken worked more like Akuma but as a good guy. This take on the SGS is meant to purge the opponent of corruption or something like that.

Also, it's awesome seeing someone after all this time stepping up and helping alexlexus deliver a definitive version of his Gouken. Everything looks to be working a lot smoother now and, as DW said, the effects are a big improvement.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry for going awol again. I hope to have an update addressing the feedback given soon (once again thank you guys!).

Cool and original. My suggestion would be if you wanted to take advantage of 1.1, I'd add parallax to the floor and scale delta to the blocks. You do parallax on 1.0, but animated parallax would require bgctrl's. It can be done tho. And blocks provide an easy opportunity to use scale delta because of the straight lines. Couple these two things together and you can create some pretty cool "3D" effects.

I actually did try my hand at parallax floors with the Studiopolis stage Scepter and I did a few years ago. Unfortunately, I did end up skipping it because I wanted to keep the 1.0 and 1.1 versions as consistent as possible with each other, and I'm honestly a complete dullard when it comes to anything involving bgctrls. Another reason is most of Scepter and I's work is stylistically based on Waku Waku 7, which doesn't have any 3D parallax effects in it's backgrounds.

If there are any examples of 1.0 stages with animated parallax floors though, I wouldn't mind having another look and I see if I can actually learn how it works this time around.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the radio-silence regarding this thread. I've been working on Scepter and I's next stage and struggling with focusing more on some RL stuff lately. I still very much appreciate the compliments and feedback!

I've updated the stage addressing some of PotS' feedback. I've fixed the cut off, added tensions to the zoom, and included an alt def that removes the scoreboard and constant "insert coin" text. I would like to revisit this another day and include a couple more fixes once life settles down a bit for me.

gorgeous sprites as usual! i hope that someday someone makes a medley of some kind that combines these games' osts, that would fit this stage so well.

That would be awesome! It's a pretty specific crossover, but if someone were to do that I would add it in a heartbeat!

Are there any plans for a fully Pizza Tower or fully Tower of Heaven version, similar to alts previous stages by you?

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make alts like that due to this stage being completely custom sprited. Scepter would likely have to make more assets.

The worlds of Pizza Tower and Tower of Heaven collide in Scepter and I's latest stage! The stage is meant to mimic the demo of an arcade machine, with a scoreboard appearing throughout the fight. The version for 1.0 has a few differences from the 1.1 version, due to some limitations with 1.0.

Another update Phantom, the coding you shared with me worked great in 1.1 and Scepter liked the result. But now, I'm working on a version of this stage for 1.0 and the asset is just moving back and forth diagonally.

It's looking to be working properly as of now. I sent Scepter another beta of the stage to make sure everything is working to his liking, but he's working on a piece for Pico Day on Newgrounds. I wanted to make sure he finishes that in time so I haven't heard back yet.

Quick update: Added an additional def file. This one has no Samus or HUD elements, and serves as an option for a less busy screen and a version you can play as Samus on without seeing double. ^^

The visor version is too distracting to be practical, but as a tech demo/novelty stage it's amazing. Trippiest stage I've tried in a while. :2thumbsup:

They also work just fine in the latest versions of Ikemen, which had many tweaks to zooming.

Yeah, I tried to somewhat mitigate that by adding the transparency effect, but the screen is still pretty busy. Thank you though! I'm happy with how cool it ended up looking in action. ^^

Thank you for letting me know about the Ikemen updates too! I removed the message regarding that from the post.
