For today's daily I tried to go for my second completely non-traced sprite
I think it went better than the last one (featureless man in his underwear)

For the record when I say "completely non traced" I mean I didn't use existing character concept art or a screenshot or anything, I just used a blank character model in a model poser

Could've antialiased more, but honestly I was more focused on trying to do my normal above lighting and also factor in the lighting from the beam katana so yeah

The palette for this was *absurdly* difficult and I'm still not sure I've done it as well as I could've, but overall I'm pretty happy with this one considering how complex it is

Fuck knows I ain't animating it though

Vermilingus version is  good, The Jetstreams Jetstream needs work and doesnt look like him as much, body looks chunky.

Vermilingus version is  good, The Jetstreams Jetstream needs work and doesnt look like him as much, body looks chunky.

Today's daily, because I'm on a bit of an MGR kick apparently

Not *quite* as happy as I was with Jetstream Sam, I think I lost a couple details and slightly lost the lighting direction but I still think it turned out alright.

If I'm being totally honest I'm not particularly pleased with how this one turned out but I can't 100% put my finger on why.
It might be the fine details of it not reading properly, it's almost certainly that I messed up the lighting, but I've never tried a quadruped before and you know what they say: "your first attempt at everything is shit"

Apologies for my sudden absence, I had family visit for a while
I should continue with my dailies now

Speaking of which here's Senator Armstrong to round out all the Metal Gear Rising Bosses that aren't just mechs (maybe I'll do the mechs too at some point idk)
Getting the nanomachines to not look terrible is really hard while maintaining muscle anatomy. And muscle anatomy is one of my weaker areas anyway

Looking at it now I messed up the antialiasing on the legs. Maybe I'll fix that at some point

I don't think I could've done anything else honestly I been asking for three years

Anyways, the sprite itself.
Here we have Kunimitsu, as portrayed in Tekken Tag Tournament 2
This is another sprite with no tracing, so excuse some weirdness with perspective and proportion (specifically in that back leg)
Again the aliasing crops its head up, I find it pretty hard to both antialias and keep to sprite limits, but hey I guess that's all a part of learning

Considering the lack of tracing I'm pretty happy with it though
