4 Captain Americas, a Hawkeye, a Black Panther (Task does triple duty), a Black Widow, and Ghost who can probably pull some Ant-Man stuff. It's only a shame that Abomination isn't there after all the teasing.
It's obvious that it'll be super weird having 4 super soldiers who do the same things and no Hulk or Iron Man (Red Guardian is the weirdest but I guess Yelena asked to have her dad stick around), but it's also very obvious that this is still the dark mirror trope with what's available and what was expected since Ant-Man 2 came out.
For Bucky, I've seen a lot of people hope for him to give the team some legitimacy and give him some sort of old guard teacher role, as he tries to make the team a real legit Avengers 2.0 before shit hits the fan, why not. Also this will immediately follow Cap 4 so that's probably how he gets there. (it's also odd that Cap 4 has the Leader but the Leader isn't in this, he was also expected, either they're waiting to add him or they plan to make him only a one-and-done)
It's the Avengers team that the army tries to rebuild as a special forces type before we're forced to get the Young Avengers. Most of this was expected.

It's obviously more of a Dark Avengers but without using the name Avengers. And yes, it's still not using the original Dark Avengers line-up, just characters that are currently available. It was the same with the Defenders.

Eh, the cast seems a lot more skewed toward the super soldier type of character, less diverse than the Avengers. I didn't expect Red Guardian to make it (I was already thinking Bucky would be redundant with USAgent), and the concept art kinda seems to hint that Val will be an active element, and not a Nick Fury man-in-the-chair type ? Or maybe it's just me. No Zemo ? He didn't like all the super soldiers in the team maybe ? edit - oh yeah, Abomination is also missing WTF, everyone figured that his return in She-Hulk would lead to Thunderbolt for him.

Black Panther and Quantumania are the next big shit. BP will involve lots of soldiers from everywhere trying to take advantage of Wakanda's terrible state post snap to try and steal vibranium all the time, as expected.
Also, no F4 announcement after all.

The original ASB had a story mode, anything that couldn't appear in a fight was summed up in text form. I imagine the new characters will have their fights added in that story mode, filling the gaps with more text. The story mode also has a whole bunch of dramatic finishes that reproduce the end of specific battles (like what Dragon Ball FighterZ did).
And here's the Pucci trailer that confirms this is the White Snake version, and the C-Moon version will be a free update for later (so he's not DLC).

And that's the complete base roster, and I think they said recently that the other version of Pucci would come later as a separate spot ? And then there's still Joshu and Stroheim who might make it in the DLC as well. edit - and Weather not in the base roster ffs
Is there any expectation for completely new characters not in EoH for DLC ? Realistically (as in not part 8 sry, and I think N'doul is still out)

Hey, thanks. I had a lot of ideas after that Jin with this system, from different games, but I got frustrated when I could never quite find or create the sprites I wanted, for moves and particularly for special effects.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, at least outside dream match ? For example, Ryu's Shoryuken deals like 95% of its damage on the first hit, including the elemental explosion, which you can cancel into anything else, because the rest of the uppercut barely does 3 digits worth of damage and is completely useless. Back when I was still playing the spider mode, I tested it out to see if it was worth canceling or not while in awakening mode. Just cancel after the first punch.
edit - checked again, any skill's first hit deals in the tens of millions damage, everything after deals barely a million or two all together, for multiple characters. It varies from character to character, but that seems to be the norm. Less hits have a less notable gap, I guess, like a 3 hit skill will be a 70-20-10 split or something.

The video says there's a new surprise in the random select, hinted to be Mokujin...
The new boss showdown is interesting, as long as the rewards are worth it and it's not just for boasting privilege like the badge display.
As for future collabs, knowing the choices that came up in the poll results they showed, the only one I would care about is Jojo, and maybe Darkstalkers a little.

Yeah, I was suspicious with Hwoarang but it looks like the new gimmick will be a 3rd skill that switches stance and changes the two other skills. Pretty sure that's what was going on for Hwoarang too.

Yeah, the powercreep keeps putting them in a corner every time they don't release the old units that have been ready waiting for a couple years now. Either they don't release them at all or they make gold viable, they'll soon have no other choice. It'll also revitalize the game something fierce and very fast, too...
(I wonder if they'll come up with some "gold+" rank to not put them in the same unified banner...)

I hate the design style (mostly the heads, and Heihachi having the body size of Marduk as a giant rectangle, also the fact that they decided that regular shadow physics wasn't a thing), but that use of 3D everything is seriously impressive, especially for a fighting anime. Sometimes it's hard to notice, sometimes it's a lot more obvious, but it's never a big ugly issue. This is some nice tech and shader they have (and I assume they redraw over some stuff when needed, like King's head).

I imagine they'll rerun the gold units in the same banner as the new ones for completion's sake, but  don't actually expect any relevant upgrade to them, there's too much work to do to make gold units viable.

Yes but that's not the point and I don't think there's anyone who doesn't already know that at this point, how many of these things have come out and keep getting sold out ? Yes, because of scarcity, obviously, but people still buy them, and it's not for the emulator they run on. The handful of people who manage to get them obviously know about emulators already. Why do you think they still buy them ?

It can work IF they get a boost in speed, hitboxes, and core effects like any combination of invulnerability. Deimos v3 showed they can be usable with a massive speed boost but they still get interrupted too easily and then they just sit around unable to do anything. Edit - oh yeah, and 6* versions of the 3PG (the attack doesn't need to change)
But with 6 characters including probably 3 EX, I think they won't bother much.
