Me and my girl were listening to a baseball game on the radio when it was interruppted with a "MICHAEL JACKSON IS CONFIRMED DEAD" on the radio. We just looked at each other in disbelief and finally she said "At least the children are safe."
Whats sad is that although people in the US are fed up Michael, people in other countries adore him. Be prepared to see some craziness in the next couple of the days. Lots of crying too.

people take it to extremes, I grew up listening to his music as a kid, that coupled with his tour that was coming makes me a bit sad, its like seeing Mr T clocking it, you might not even like it, but his symbolism was pretty powerful.
Was he ever actually prosecuted and found guilty about any of the child abuse cases? If not he spent the last fifteen years not able to produce music and slowly sinking into bankruptcy for nothing.

He had a fantastic run. He's in the top 5 musicians sold in the entire world. (BTW, The Beatles' sales dwarf his)
I'm not bashing his music. I'm bashing the monster that he is was. He wasn't found innocent. The cases were settled out of court. I've seen all the interviews and all the released evidence and I feel strongly that he molested those children. Joking about his death severely pales in comparison to how he RUINED the lives of those young kids.
And I guarantee you that the majority of people that are saying "you DON'T joke about someone dying" have one time or another, joked about someone's death. Take a hard look in the mirror before going crazy.

I think most people are mostly upset because the original poster was posting a bad crack joke about someone who was dying. I grew up listening to his music, and I believed he was good at that. I dont know who he was personally on his outside life so I cant bash/praise him on that, but people acting like 5 year olds on both sides of the argument really need to get themselves in check with what they say

Like i said in the last page, some crazy stuff is gonna happen with Michael jackson's passing. Just because you guys in the US dont like him, people in other countries ADORE him. In all reality, I want to know where people get the statements that he was a child molestor as if it was a fact. I mean, granted It cant be proven in real life that he was not guilty (not in the judicial sense but in terms of truth and validity in critical thinking) but the same goes for all those that believe that HE WAS a child molestor

Whatever he has done in his personal life this is a sad day for anybody out there who has grown up listening to his music. He is and will always be the "King of Pop". His music has arguably been more influential on future artists than any other single artist in modern history. No one man has been emulated on stage more than Michael Jackson. Love him or hate him...a music legend has died today. He helped shape the industry into what it is today. With that in mind please try to be respectful. Michael Jackson was accused of child molestation so automatically he did it? Have you seen the people who accused him? I won't comment on the kids themselves, but certainly their parents at least are bad news. In the first case, the kid didn't even testify against Jackson. I'm sorry, but you do not accept a shitload of settlement money from an insurer and disappear off the face of the earth with it, gag order or not.
And as for the second trial, which I was old enough to know well, that was just a joke and he was acquitted on all counts. And for the record, when someone is found innocent of a crime, they usually are, that's the idea.
I hate pedophiles as much as the next guy, which is why it's good that MJ was not one. If he's guilty of anything, it's being more than a bit weird and very naive. The first accusation came from a kid who was caught on tape saying that if he wins a law suit, he wins big. The kid then proceeded not with criminal charges, but with a lawsuit for monetary compensation. He initiated the suit, not Jackson.
He only proceeded with a criminal suit after negotiations with Jackson broke down. The police searched Neverland Ranch and performed a full strip-search of Jackson, including taking photographs of Jackson's genitals. When comparing all evidence found with the boy's testimony, the police found that there was insufficient evidence to lay charges. furthermore we didn't have access to all the evidence. We can't make an informed evaluation of his innocence or guilt - all we know is what is portrayed in the media, which is typically sensationalised and bias to some extent.
Personally, I dont believe there is enough evidence to show that he was that monster, I do however believe that there are better places and times to be doing this corpsebashing than where people are trying to mourn him. Cut that out. Kthks.

Kind of shocking, but kind of not. With all those surgeries he's had, you have to think that helped him have an early death.
The child molestation accusations are probably all because it's a huge pot of money... and even if you're lying, you have a real good chance for a settlement. Jackson was just one of those sue 'em targets of the 90s (of course I know he was accused of it after the 90s).
My older brother was really into him (at the height of his career) and his birthday is saturday. :-\

You know what...from all that I remember from the news and interviews with MJ when all the molestation accusations happened, it left me thinking that he actually did molest those kids. He did admit to sleeping in the same bed with single digit aged boys. I don't remember if there were any girls. That is NOT a healthy thing to do for those kids. He was not their parent.
But after reading what Iced posted, I'm not as 100% sure that he did molest those kids. I will have to do some of my own research on this.

Back in 1999, Marvel wasnt that well with their money ( Which eventually led to them selling movie properties ), and MJ went in a tour with Stan lee to know more about the marvel building ( he was a fan of the comics) and to see if he could possibly help them, even if he had to buy the company himself. I don't know about you guys but when i was a kid Michael was a super-star..i was so proud to have same name as him(that actually was the only reason i liked my name at the age of five - my favorite actors or singers had to have same first name as me) Now when i look at these news and see him dead i realise that everything ive known will die off on my eyes...who knows may be Robert Smith(The Cure) will be next? Pan syndrome, the dude acted as if he was trying the most he could to relive his youth, he had no sensitive concept of money, he kept trying to do "the good thing" the billions he spent on charity shows that. South park actually hit the nail on the head with him, he was freaky, he was weird, he was eccentric, and its normal that people were scared of his actions, he didnt had the concept of normal way to act socially, but while people were sipping off margaritas paid by his money, they didnt gave a fuck, and then they just started persecuting him for being freaky.

My personal preference leans towards Billy Mays, I'm sorry. Poor MJ tarnished himself to a point where I don't feel bad for him dying. I can sorta empathize with him having such a tortured existence, but he had all the means in the world to get help, instead of worrying about how else he can manipulate his face, or neglecting to hide his porno and alcohol from a couple of unruly minors.

Yes, he was entertaining but I don't think that anything that he did was all that great. He was a great dancer, I guess, but dancing doesn't do anything for me. I never liked the circus.
His music was competent at best. There was nothing groundbreaking or innovative about his music. He just happened to be very very popular...that's it. And also, his music is extremely timely. It belongs in the 80s and the only thing that makes it worth listening to today is for a novelty/nostalgia factor.

In the 80's MJ was filming a commercial for Pepsi where fireworks went off.
The pyro guy messed up and MJ's hair ended up catching fire and he was able to put the fire out by doings 2 spins (yes, his dance move!! lol). Then he was rushed to hospital and apparently had 2nd (or 3rd, I forget) degree burns on his scalp which apparently led 2 him losing his hair as it didnt grow back.
So again apparently he's been wearing a wig since then.
Check it out, this is the way the story goes. Its definate that his hair caught fire, dunno if he actually went bald or whatever because of it. ???

First off, he was not proved innocent. He was not proven guilty, there is a big difference. And in the first case, he paid them off and the charges were dropped. In other words, he wasn't proven guilty or innocent because it never went to trial.

Yeah I saw the memorial, I thought some of the speechs were nice like Brooke Shields and Magic Johnsons but didnt like the politicians speech and a bunch of very mediocre singers (at best) singing the King of Pops songs!

Recently saw South park episode about him ( the old one, I dont think they have touched the subject in the new ones yet ) was amused with how they avoided the kid molestation jokes by turning it around.
