I'm basically looking for a suggestion and help on creating/assigning new fonts, so if this post is in the wrong forum, I apologize. I want to get rid of the yellow CvS2 style boards that appear when my characters preform certain actions, and replace them with new SvC style ones.

I know that the cvs2 boards are sprites and that I may have to replace them with my new fonts. But that's where my question comes in.. How should I go about doing this? Am I going to have to replace each sprite or can I simply disable/remove them and install the new fonts in a different way? like as part of the screenpack?.. please bear with me guys, I'm kinda a noob in mugen development. >.<

you don't simply replace sprites by fonts. The CvS "boards" are coded within the characters. Fonts are coded within the mugen engine, outside of the characters.

You will need to remove all the "boards" coding & sprites (or just the modify the sprites in the AIR as a dirty hack) from the characters and then add the fonts as in any normal mugen game.

Thanks for your replies guys. XGargoyle, I've made my new fonts but I still don't know how to add them and make them appear at the right time. I'm trying to install these 8: Counter, First Attack, Guard Cancel, Just Defended, Tech Hit, Reversal, Finish, and Perfect.
【 HadeS 】, I appreciate the link but I'm only getting rid of the yellow sprites that appear on the characters, not their grooves. I actually really like the ex-groove and want all my chars to have them.

You can keep the groove you want with and without the bars with that patch, you're welcome though :)

Oh I see.. that makes sense cause I could not for the life of me find out how to insert these fonts as timed messages in the engine itself.. been lurking for days now lol. So in I do have to replace the sprites in each character after all. Thanks.
