have any characters been added to a fighting game after a different region release before?

Street Fighter Alpha 2, from capcom itself.

The American version had Classic Chun-li (Chun-li with her SF2 outfit) and Evil Ryu and other classic versions added, along several tweaks to gameplay, unlike SFZ2.

this lead the japanese release of Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha, which implemented all the changes of the american version + added survival and Dramatic battle (something similar to mugen's simul mode, except that it could have 2 human players against the computer).

and all of this happened on the arcades, BTW.

then the American releases SFZ2A as Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold for the consoles (PSone and Sega Saturn).

I think that added cammy as well as a secret character for the versus mode.

There were some stuff of the same kind with Darkstalkers, but that was more about the console version getting more characters than the arcade version and then the arcade version getting revised.

If Capcom does decide to add any extra characters for the US version, than the Tatsunoko characters I want to see are Blade from Tekkaman Blade, Kyosuke from Soultaker, Nurse Witch Komugi, Speedy Cerviche from Samurai Pizza Cats, and of course Speed Racer.

God dammit please don't turn this into another freaking wishlist thread.

It's not like Capcom reads our posts let alone knows about this website.

I hope the US version has Dante, Megaman Zero and high definition sprites!
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.
My Mugen and Ikemen content can also be found here.

....those are two requests I can agree on, though. CAPCOM not putting Dante in a fighter yet has left me very WTF @ them. Also, replace Volnutt with X, because everyone knows Original > X >>>>>>>>>>>>>> All.

Also, ONLINE PLAY? FUCK YEAH.

Being the most popular English forum and that they are at least aware of Mugen, I'd say they at least know about this website.

Many people risk their lives everyday by having Mugen.

I was checking out pictures of TVC at fightersgeneration.com on the main page, and I must say, even though he's been with Capcom for a while, it's very weird seeing all the game's art done by Shinkiro. When I see his work, I automatically think of KOF.

The GBA port of Final Fight also had art by Shinkiro.
Psiops's japan localization (By Capcom) had special cover art by Shinkiro too.

  • I just don't give a damn!!!
Capcom released 1994 X-men:children of atom which was really cool.
Capcom also released Darkstalkers same year which is also one of my favorite too.
But since then they use same sprites for 16 years and on and on,ewen in MvC2.
They probably newer gonna update sprites but with replacing them with 3d models.

But lock at Guilty Gear,it's made 1998 and although roster stayed almost the same,
Arc System work's  constantly updated sprites to beautiful sprites we know today.
Now,with SECOND game,Blazblue,with beautiful HD sprites & MvC2 with sprites from 1994 &
Tatsunoko(I watched some series, they sucks so much) in 3d versus game that
everybody wont it to be 2d,we should ask our self:does Capcom actually care about us???
Capcom have much better profit with low-res sprites & 3d models,so f*ck the fan's.
Imagine 2020 year new 2d Capcom fighter using the same old sprites.

In 2009 for 2d game of 21'st century between HD Blazblue & low-res MvC2,
I will chose game of the future, the Blazblue.

Sounds to me like a Blazblue fanboy just being mad that there's another fighting game coming out that isn't Blazblue.  Dude can't even seem to decide if he's mad about TvC or MvC2.

Well excuuuuuse me.  They way he kept namedropping BB and that whole "game of the future" bit gave me that impression that, on the whole, the reason he was mad was that Capcom isn't coming out with a 2d fighter with BB quality sprites.  That and the way he went off on a tangent about Marvel vs Capcom reusing sprites in a thread about a completely different game.

If Capcom ever make MvC3,it will be 3d.MvC2 game = easy money$$$$.
If you go to torrent & compare MvC2 & any Guilty Gear game,
GG game will be over 2 gb,while MvC2 is only 120 mb !!!
Capcom should work for our money, not to steal on popularity of game.
My point is that they are thief,s.
I miss the day's when everything on Play Station looked good.

lol, the original GG's sprites were pretty horrible, no wonder they updated them, thena fter GGX came out, the other ones did not update the sprites. and blaz blue has new sprites because they could not keep on using the guilty gear X ones anymore. I know they deserve some credit at least for trying svga first, but youa re giving them way too much credit.
