So I started him yesterday, I finished all his normals and work now on his specials.
Like Terry he is a "special" class but he has only 1 style. Krauser is a boss so he is strong in all type of skill, he can fight on the ground but he is more a striker like Terry than a grappler with locks like Alex.
Some of his skills are from of the Anime "Fatal Furry 2". He can move very fast to surprise his opponent (like Vega teleportation), he will use his version of Senpuken and he will be very strong (good damage like Hugo, life like Hugo, strong defense).

Awesome! It's good to see things progressing. I've got my computer back so I'm ready to make stages. I've been researching Undisputed 3 as part of developing Cody's stage concept. When I saw clips of the movie I thought it was great inspiration.

Heeey!  Is that my stage I see? Lol!

Yes it is !!  :D

Krauser will be the last boss, so we go to his castle for the Fiesta ! Man, each time I work on a new character, the game system changes... I need to stop do that  ::)

I hope it's not too different from the second/third update.  I really enjoyed it. Cvs iz cool but I jope you don't make it too much like that style. I like the good old fashioned grapple system.
Title: Re: Wolfgang Krauser von Stroheim

I try to keep the fun part while I add some mechanics wich make it more technical to play, the grapple system is faster now and easier to use. If I haven't modified the old system, all characters would have been too similar, but now we have 5 differents styles and even if some characters are from the same style, they will be very different.

The moves where you are using the ropes will change and give it more a feeling like Pro-Wrestling and Luchadore. The power system will be something like Art of Fighting, and some changes for next release: you can combo now even if the opponent is guarding (he can counter you like in Kof with a huge attack wich will cost 500 power).

Nice u are using the old Big Version of Krauser and not the Kof or CVS conversion.

Yeah, I wanted the Big muscular one.

People you can give a try to the last release in the download section, I would need your opinion for changing the balance or the game concept.

Half of the specials are coded, now I work on the "power system" (a little similar to Art of Fighting's), for example on the last screenshot:
-the Leg Tomahawk with more than 500 power (under it's the normal one) bring a fire wall (likeKyo Dragon Punch) and use 300 power.
-the advantage of this technique with power: he is more protected from air attacks, it can destroy fire ball
-all specials moves with energy (or fire effects) use power, you will need to charge power like in Art of Fighting (normals & specials give you power too).

Not yet, but I try to finish him for the end of this month, All the other characters will be updated to the new system power too, so I'll upload them separately (easier to fix them and upload after it (a pack take too much time for uploading).

Krauser looks Great but, there was a CVS Krauser made by Dampir. You could take a look at it if You want there.

The CVS one is not enoug muscular, that's why I took Fatal Fury's Krauser. At the moment , I am working on his stage, and then I go back on him... I must do his throwq and ground Fighting, then AI and he will be done.

Krauser's ring  :smash:

That ring is excellent man. You really know what you're doing. I also know what you mean with muscler sprites. I believe all you have to do is give Krauser a new set of colors. You need a new pallete wich fits better with the CVS and Capcom characters you have. The ones Krauser originaly has makes him stand out a bit as it still looks a little SNK-ish compared to the others there.

When Krauser is finished I'll work on Raiden, then I'll use your ring. I need to do a stage for him in South Town.

So you're gonna use the Howard Enterprises ring for Raiden? What do you have in mind for Raiden's street stage?

I don't know yet, perhaps in a football stadium (Raiden has some images where he is a footballer). Or I could do him a stage in Oward's Building... I will see when I will work on him (I take some times to find the good idea).

Stage:
Thopse guards on the background could use less saturation cuz they stand out too much out of the BG imo

I'll put a color filter on the guard so their colors will match the stage's.

That's a good idea. It Will balance colors and do graphics some favor for sure.

After some brake, I am now back at work on Krauser. Just finished his throws, I am now working on his 3rd super and Hyper, then ground fighting and he is done.

I need to work on code for interractivity, later I'll make part that you can destroy with specials/super, but for now I'll focus on the characters.

I understand this may be a foolish question, but is it possible to tweak the sprites in a way so that Krauser's back-side hand is between the opponent's legs and his front-side hand is on his opponent's chest (between the opponent's camera-facing arm and background arm)? I'm sure you can do if you edit both chars sprites, but is it code-able?

That sounds like the makings of an authentic body slam! But I think it's very possible. His Alex and Terry perform grapples the involve the same style of coding.

@Teddylam
I noticed that on the Geese Tower stage you see a black bar at the bottom once you start to zoom out. It's an easy fix. Just thought I'd mention it before the next update release.

Yes you need to use explods and edit sprites for this move for each characters, look my Alex when he does a leg lock, you will see him do something like that with one leg before and the other behind his target.
But you need to think about the speed of the move too, if it's faster, your eyes don't see it... Here Krauser do the Slam really fast and you don't notice it unless you pause the game or take a screeshot.

Yeah I saw it too, thanks for the updates   :D
I need to speed up my work on Krauser, IRL take me too much time lately, but now I have more time.

Yes, sir! I am officially in love with the IMB project and I want to help as much (which isn't much) as I can! I like the way it looks, and I Love the way it plays. It doesn't evan feel like the same Mugen Fighting Engine, anymore. Now it's more like "Teddy's Mugen Wrestling Engine." lol

I've got a feeling this question is going to get me into some trouble, but what are explods?
Your Alex's leg locks and other things like that, is exactly what caused me to ask about Krauser's body slam. lol
Also, I understand that if it's too fast you won't notice it, but I've seen the screenshots, and it bugs me. I'm not saying "fix it! Fix it, now!" I'm just OCD like that, so pay no mind. lol

In general I have ot do like 20-30 sprites to be compatible with all the moves. But I need to do some more because they will have 2 lines for fighting like in Fatal Fury Real Bout.
