Title: ClayFighter comes to MUGEN!! (T-Hoppy, Klaymen and HoboCop for 2024!!)

I like CF series since the beginning, but my favorite is CF63 1/3 for far. Even I got the original game when I had N64. So, since I knew about MUGEN, always I wanted to convert at least 1 character for MUGEN. I tried for years to convert some sprites without success (well, I made Taffy and Bad Mr. Frosty sprites well, but took me a lot of time). Now, at last I get a way to convert these sprites into MUGEN and also it's an easy way to make mass production.

So, after this intro, let me show you with pride, my first CF63 1/3 project for MUGEN:

Earthworm Jim
The coolest worm in videogames now will have a best adaptation to MUGEN from this game, the first one he appears as a fighter. My mission is not just make him for MUGEN, also put in him all the features has in the game, or at least all I can do. Here's what I've planned for him:
-All his poses, Command Moves, Specials and Supers
-All his voices and sounds from CF63 1/3
-Combo system (copycat/parody of KI2 system)
-Claytalities (now capable to do thanks to Juano16's tutorials)

I'm still ripping the sprites, but now I've some of basics ready, like stance, jump, crouch and block, and some of his normal hits (and as you see in 4th pic, also I can make palettes).
And before you asked, also I'm working in CF63 1/3 lifebars, I hope to get finished them soon...

The quality of the sprites doesn't look too amazing..but I'm assuming thats just how they look in-game?

Thanks... Yeah, I noticed the lifebars are easier to rip than the characters, so this is also my first attempt in make lifebars (with PI1 ones, which I get back to work, too)

Here's a video of Earthworm Jim in action in CF63 1/3, I hope can emulate in MUGEN like he appears here ;)

A year ago, I also tried ripping the sprites of Earthworm Jim as well but couldn't get it to work right due to the lighting in the game would change EWJ's pallete every time I ripped and also I would rip it and still get some parts missing.

My question is this: What programs did you use to rip the character and how did you get it to such a clear resolution?

Just 3 programs:
-Project64, to emulate the game (the best emulator on internet, even when it suck in certain way)
-AnimGet, to get the shots when you're playing
-Paint Shop Pro or any other image edition program (I prefer PSP since it's better with pixels than Photoshop, IMO)

Basicly you've to get the screen in Project64 at 640x480 res, then take the shots with AnimGet and then edit them in PSP (or you fav editing program), crop and clean them like MAME games (deleting the background) and after that resizing at 50% (320x240 if you do it with the entire shot). After that, adjusting brightness/contrast and then making a palette with the sprite (I used less than 100 colors, like 50 + or -), and that palette you uses for the next sprites

I hope this can help to make more ClayFighter characters for MUGEN :D

So the lifebars aren't going to have the combo announcer, are they? I think it might be impossible to have the announcement systme like that in mugen. :'(

Interesting. I'll keep this mind when I rip sprites from the game later in the future.

And yeah, you may want to rip the announcer or I could rip or voice act the voices myself.

I am also quite interested in how you are planning to do the announcer for the lifebars, since they are quite different from the norm.  I guess you could have round 1 be LETS GET READY TO CRUMBLE with a long enough space, and perhaps round 2 could be OH I LOVE IT or something.

Well, that's the easier part. N64 CF games (63 1/3 and Sculptor's Cut) have in the option the volume for voice/FX and for music, so only I've to mute music and when appears the voice/sound, I recorded when I put pause in the game. The only pain-in-the-ass are the gethit sounds and the strong hit FX, since they are combinated when you hit a character, that's my only trouble for now...

Well, in the lifebars actually I put in first round the "let's get ready to crumbleee!" but in the middle it sounds the "fight!" and I don't know how I can make more time for the phrase, or if I can do it... so I'm thinking about just put the "fight" sound only

About the announcer in Jim's snd, I've to add it when he made certain kind of combos and stuff, since the lifebars aren't capable to do that...

Finally, a decent Earthworm Jim will come to mugen. Those sprites sure are hard to rip it out and i thought the Genesis emulator was hard.

It would be great, but I never could learn to use ArtMoney, and I've enough for the moment trying to rip manually from the emu...

Im liking were this is going I wanted to make a CF63 1/3 char since forever cuz none of them has has been made yet and I figured out all the insane combos and claytalitys on the game but I don't no how to do jack for mugen except play so these chars stayed on my wish list anyways liking EWJ can't wait to see kong pow hes the best clayfighter :sugoi: ;D :)

About the character itself, with his ripped sprites, I've this made in MUGEN
-Various basic moves: stand, crouch, jump, block, walk fwd, run
-Some poses: taunt, generic intro (walking to the fight)
-Hits:
   stand -> WP, SP far (worm whip)
   crouch -> WP, MP (shoot wannabe), SP1 (uppercut)
   air -> WP, MP
-Special moves: Fire Shoot (only need the proj sprites), EWP Punch (Jim uppercut) and some sprites of Worm Ball
-2 palettes, the blue one (P1) and some brown custom one (only made if it would work the palettes)

you can just hack the textures of some stage and the lifebar, and then rip your chars withouth have to erase the stage.

This morning I was ripping the ABC from CF63 1/3, these letters made of clay and with a lot of colours. These ones I'll use for naming characters when you win. Also I got N64 Sound Ripper (thanks Dakangel) and I ripped announcer voices and all FX sounds (but doesn't work to rip character voices, sadly :'()

Thanks for the video, but that only works for Project64 1.7, the only version avaliable is 1.6 since 1.7 is just for developers and  collaborators (that's mean, it's private). So that tutorial doesn't help me, thanks anyway ;)

Nope you only need the Rice plugin, the dumps are made from the plugin not from the emulator, and that version of PJ64 could be found on google ;)

Well, I've ripped almost all normal hits and already implemented in MUGEN and I discovered something interesting: Interplay guys used certain sprites in a lot of moves, so I ripped less than I expected (with 115 sprites, I get almost all basics and normal hits)

Well guys, I wished to show you more shots or a video, but instead that I'll describe you how he's in CF63 1/3 and how will be for MUGEN. For those ones who already played CF games for N64, my intention is making him most accurate I can for MUGEN. For those ones who don't played this great game, here's what Jim will have:

-6 buttons (3 punches and 3 kicks), a taunt (with 3 random phrases), 2 intros and 2 wins

-All his special moves from this game:
  -Fire Shoot: Jim uses his gun and shoot a fireball of large range
  -EJW Punch: an uppercut, similar to Shoryuken and copycats
  -Tumbleworm: Jim makes a diagonal jump-roll and makes a kick when he touch the ground. And the roll can make damage, too (especially if enemy is in the air)
  -Worm Ball: Jim suit inflates as a ball and then rolls to the screen until it touch the enemy
  -Overhead Attack: command move in all CF chars, a little jump with a low hit in the knees, in this case, his own head

-All his supers from the game (all of them uses just 1 powerbar, like in CF):
  -Super Fire Shoot: 4 fireballs in a row, last one makes you fall
  -Super EWJ Punch: Hmmm, think in Ken Masters' Shoryureppa :P
  -Stairway to Heaven: A jump with an air punch, if the hit is successful, Jim will make a diagonal autocombo that elevates enemy. In CF63 1/3 doesn't make much damage for a super, but I'll fix that ;)
  -Super Propeller: Jim uses his head as a forward helicopter hitting enemy with many hits

-His 5 Claytalities from the game (as I said before, I'll use Juano16's fatalities tutorial):
  -Cow From Sky: The signature animal from EWJ series falls from sky to smash his enemy
  -Launch from Island: A strong uppercut that makes enemy go far from Klaymodo Island... and I know how to emulate this in MUGEN >:D
  -Squeeze Claytality: One of the generic claytalities, Jim uses his head to squeeze enemy
  -Squish Claytality: Another generic one, but this time Jim makes a strong punch to stomp enemy into the ground
  -Knock Off Top Half: And the last generic one, an uppercut that cut enemy in half (direct copycat of MK this one)

-All his combo system from the game (copycat of KI series), incluiding Ultras (calles Insane Combos in the game)

That's all I can tell for now, I hope for my first release at least having all specials and supers, that's my priority now... soon more pics and a video of him ;)

For my knowledge in MUGEN, specials and supers aren't a problem for me, even the combo system can't complain me (I learned a lot making the SS4's 14-hit combo for Gen-an). My great challenge will be the Claytalities for sure, my first try in this was making Eric compatible with Juano16's fatalities for his MK chars, and that took me a lot of work... I hope at least make Jim with all his specials and supers for the first release ;)

ok his chars were Taffy, Ickybod Clay, The Blob, Blue Suede Goo, and N.Boss from Clayfighter and Octohead from Clayfighter 2

ok his chars were Taffy, Ickybod Clay, The Blob, Blue Suede Goo, and N.Boss from Clayfighter and Octohead from Clayfighter 2

Lord Sinistro did Hoppy from Clayfighter 2 as well

There is also Helga on Lord Sinistro's website. But it's made by Shadowtak.

I did not check a full that P64.
But I think the sprites looks in that way because, that don't have an option to disable anti-aliasing.

Finished his 4 supers from CF 63 1/3, there's 2 of them: Super Fire Shoot (4 FS, the last one makes you fall) and Stairway to Heaven (Jim's diag-up autocombo)

Also made almost all his normal hits (ripping close med punch, another worm-whiplash like his far strong punch), and the last move I needed:

Dashing Elbow, a.k.a. Jim's Combo Opener, now I can complete the other moves he needs (details at bottom). And I finished Tumbleworm, too, but I don't have images of that :P

The normal part is now ready, now start to work in the 2 great challenges for me: the KI-esk combo system and Claytalities. And before you asked, I added announcer voice in Jim, for the intro (he has the generic one, with the char walking to the stage) and random for the supers :D

Oh, and I filmed a video of Jim in action, but I didn't prepared for upload it here in the cyber (mi conection messed me up, sorry), but soon I'll upload it. meanwhile, just get with the pics ;)

You could try playing with colors and scale for the projectiles of Super Fire Shoot : they're all the same and it looks repetitive as is.

Other than that, everything seems to be progressing smoothly. Good luck with the combo system and the claytalities.

Well, in the game it works that way as you see in the pic, same with similar supers of other CF chars (as Kung Pow's "Lo Mein" super, when he jumps and shoot woks). But I noticed other moves like Tumbleworm works even better than in the game :P

OK, this is not an advance of Jim but it's good news: I wrote Ahrimanes and Lord Sinistro to ask permission for KI combo system and talk to Shadowtak for compatibility code, respectively. I hope to get a good answer of both creators, but for now I downloaded Juano16's Fatalities tutorial and I started to apply to Jim...

Oh, and I debt you the video of Jim in action, I think this week I'll be uploading to my YouTube account ;)

OK, made combo system and fatality system on Jim, only need to test the system and start to make claytalities... and the Insane Combos (the Ultras of CF 63 1/3), of course ;)

Also, Jim is now 100% compatible with Shadowtak characters, incluided claytalities (like Blue Suede Goo's "Haircut" claytality).

So now at last I got internet in my room, I can post regularily new shots and videos of Jim's advances. Tonight the first video I debt you months ago and some shots of Shadowtak's compatibility ;)

Yeah, your favourite worm is back, fellas!! :D

Seeing Ahrimanes' B.Orchid, he already implemented KI phrases and a system it counts the hits to put the phrases, so I guess Jim could be a combo counter (with the hilarious phrases) after all :P Ripped a few ones (like 4-5) and the COMBO BREAKER! one, then clean, resize them and apllying 256 to add in the SFF... wish me luck on this!!

OK, back to work on Jim, now just focusing in Claytalities (that stuff is harder than I though) and making the one in this gif: Cow From Sky. Also ripping sprites I need for Jim, especially certain gethits and a last pose (the win where he shoots himself)

And I was thinking in making 2 versions of Jim, the accurate one and an Arrange mode, just with their moves, specials and supers (with no combos, Insanes and Claytalities). I'll make a poll with this, if it got enough votes, I'll do it...

Yeah, Jim now has CF63 1/3 sparks thanks to Orbinaut, now finishing the first claytality and seeing what's up with the Insane Combos (a.k.a. ultras). Also, you can see the super that didn't appear in the video, the Stairway to Heaven (diag-up autocombo)

Also, I found a common state (7698) who's already the squish one (that's POTS' Ryu against Jim... and he already has those sprites and anim!!), needs more fixes and a way about freeze the anim in one sprite (still asking how to do that, I accept help here :))

And locked the post!! Wow, very few difference, but at last I keep with Jim until I finish. But since the vote for an Arrange version is so high, I'll make a separate DEF where you can use Jim as a normal character (that's mean no Claytalities or Insane Combos, just the typical specials-supers char ;) thanks to all for voting!!

CF63 1/3 Lifebars:
Yeah, I'm still working on them, too. There're almost ready with the look, the time font, the "fight" and "you win!" big words already ripped and implemented, and the sound FX, with announcer added. Now making fightfx's sff and air with Orbinaut' ripped sparks, starting to rip the "you lose" anim (for the p2, u know) and making the fnt file for combo counter. I was thinking in release them along with Jim, but if I finished before him, probably I'll release them alone ;)

Earthworm Jim:
At last I could make palettes and now Jim has 12 colors to choose (for the complicated sprites, I just changed the blue lines for other colors u_u) and still working on claytalities, mainly improving and fixing Cow From Sky. But I would need some help with certain states and bugfix, so I would need betatesters who gave me better info (and maybe solutions) for the stuff Jim needs.

Sorry for don't show all of this with shots, but I don't have my pendrive and I don't have MUGEN in this PC (office, u know)... soon more news, but as you read before, not just about your favorite worm ;)

I sent Jim's beta to some testers here in the forum to fix more things I didn't noticed before and for help for Claytalities. I already fixed 80% of all the bugs and also I almost finished Cow From Sky. Now replaying the game for take "sprites" I need for more moves and for "re-rip" some fugly ones...

Oh, almost forgot: fixed and now with a playable combo system and added the first of 6 Insane Combos :sugoi:

Thanks ;) Sadly, it's true... the 2 N64 CF games instead sprites, characters are JPG animated in 3D backgounds. That's the reason so many years ago I tried to "rip" some of them with fugly results... until now

Still fixing Claytalities, Cow From Sky is almost ready (just battling with p2 custom states) and now making  another one: Knock Off The Island, the heavy uppercut that goes away the enemy from Klaymodo Island and stamps into the screen. Already have an image of Klaymodo but now I'm battling with angle states and scaling stuff (making something similar than Blue Sue Goo's Off the World Claytality, but without shatter the screen)

Oh, and making a new Insane Combo, but I need some sprites to rip... and about that I'll need help about grab sprites, especially the one who make headwormbutts to the enemy when grabbing

No, Tiny doesn't appear in CF 63 1/3, only in first SNES chars :P but it should be cool to make some of those chars a la CF63 1/3 (thinking about Blue Suede Goo)

Boogerman is more than a ClayFighter character, he is also the protagonist of his own game.  We need more Interplay representatives.  After him, convert Bad Mr. Frosty, because I think he is the protagonist of the ClayFighter series.

Don't like Ickybod too much, but I like Kung Pow and Sumo Santa (but not enough to adding to the poll)... yeah, I'll consider them in a future ;)

Also, working again on the lifebars as you could see in Jim's screenshots, I need to re-rip in a big size for 640x480+ resolutions, I hope to put the mocking combo names depending of the hits you made, like "Cheesy Combo" or "Oh that was a Queen Combo" :biker: like in KI screenpack, I should ask for help to Fire-Lord to that, I guess :P

I don't think you can have the announcers in (mugen limitation), but I think *somehow* you can have it have the messages as a font.

Phantom Blood had a changing message per number of hits in his CFJ lifebars, try giving him a ring.

Well, actually I tried to put announcer voices in lifebars, but it's too limited in that aspect u_u

Did you know that there's sprites ripped for almost everyone from Clayfighter 63 1/3 on Spriter's Resource? You'll have to remove a white outline of characters, and there's alot of colors, but its still easier than ripping them yourself. (I'm halfway done with Blob's main attacks right now, and its only been a few days!  ;D)

Yeah, I used Blob's sheet. I'm not bothered by the 256 colors. Besides, Blob has the smallest palette.(because he's only green, red, white and black, while someone like Bonker has White, Red, Blue, Yellow, Black,Brown etc.)

Until now, all my creations are compatible with 1.0, so I don't see the problem... unless my Megaman lifebars don't work well on 1.0, but I don't think so :P

Apart of the big portrait, I found an old sprite I ripped (for fake/troll reasons) and I'm reusing his palette and adjusting it just like I did with Jim. And since the palettes are just Frosty's hat colors, this will be easier than I thought.

Hi guys, I'm, gravedigging this thread to get back with this project since there's not enough CF chars for MUGEN. I thought this would be covered with the new versions of Kung Pow and other chars were making before I left at the end of 2017, but nothing was made after that. So, in my comeback, I was checking what I was wanting to do in my Ideas thread and I found this.

Well, have passed so many time I don't make a character from scratch, so I started him: Blue Suede Goo will receive the 63 1/3 treatment with all his original moveset and new supers, combos and even Claytalities just as Jim. Just starting him, having the base of the earthworm (with the code and sounds from him) and ensembling the SFF and AIR, just has stand, walk and his portraits by now. I hope to show you more of him in next months as well update Jim with his famous intro (super suit falling over the worm), more Insane Combos and Claytalities (I'll have to modify what I planned since I can't make them accurate as I wish)

And before you ask... yes, Bad Mr. Frosty and Boogerman will be considered, but I'll take the existing ripped sprites and give them a treatment (resize + filters) as well rip the voices for them (any help in this area is welcome). Also the 63 1/3 lifebars, I'll need help with this since they're incomplete and I don't known how to make them for 1.0+

Oh that was a Queen Combo... :P

About BSG, I'm taking heavy influence of Shadowtak's BSG (looking his AIR to get well the moves as well using the voices he ripped for him) as well replaying first ClayFighter (nothing about emulators, I got the game for my SNES), so I hope to get very faithful to the source apart of having the 63 1/3 touch on him. Also, not sure if CF lifebars has been recreated to MUGEN (from first game and/or C2: Judgment Clay) apart of the project I got with 63 1/3 lifebars. If not, maybe I can rip them and make something like that in a future, who knows ;)

I hope to spam you in the next months with new screenshots and maybe a video, by now just stay tuned with my normal WIP thread (http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=121426) and my other projects ;)

Sorry, I can't contain me... I got stuck making Blue Suede Goo and it's almost ready. As a normal character, he would be ready to me released, with all his stuff from first ClayFighter and even a super (Song of Pain, which is the super version of his Hummer Attack). But, there're various thing to do, like the Combo system (with Combo Breaker and Insane Combos included) and the Claytalities (I got the idea for one, thinking in the others, at least two more), as well his throw, the only thing left to do from the original character.

Thank you very much :D I'd like to appear him in other games too, especially that announced ClayFighter game that wasn't made at all (it could be a Mortal Kombat Trilogy for CF, sadly Interplay died before that saw the light), so I hope to make a good effort to recreate BSG.

It's too soon to talk about a fullgame, even for me. By now only those 2, I got plans to convert more characters from 63 1/3 like Bad Mr. Frosty and Boogerman. And now that I saw it was a good idea with Blue Suede Goo, maybe I can convert other chars from the series into this gameplay, like Tiny from the first CF games, that would be cool

Also, I need help in this issue with Jim (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/problems-claytalities-and-state-5150-186047.msg2431951.html#new), if someone can help me there would be great :)

You mentioned something about KI gameplay? What specifically? I don’t think it’s too early to plan things out, personally(I know you didn’t ask) when you put as much time into making very specific game mechanics you are already on your way to that. If you used one of them as a template. I am very very very interested in learning, or really improving on doing fatals as well. I’ve messed with it a lil bit in the past. Can’t wait to see that. Most of my experience with clay fighters is 64, I remember you had to unlock boogerman and Santa ha. I still remember him squishing you with his butt cheeks.

63 1/3 is one of my favourite games for N64 and the favourite one from the series (my main character was Jim indeed, the main reason I made him for MUGEN). The game has a copycat system of KI combo system, with combo openers, linkers, finishers and ultras (there called Insane Combos), I tried to manage it using Ahrimanes' B.Orchid (KI1 Orchid drawn from scratch) and based in his system for MUGEN, which is the base for Jim as well BSG. It's not perfect, but at least is close enough :P

Thanks guys :bjugoi: I love you liked my works, I hope to update this with some surprise in a close future ;) by now, I'm looking a good method to adapt the sprites of the 63 1/3 sheets into a good size (actual sprites should be rescaled to be at good size for MUGEN... and I won't do it with the MUGEN scale as the others). As the plan says, Frosty and Boogerman will be the next, one of them of course :P

The 63 1/3 version of course, a "cool" variant could be to make Ice (frosty's evil clone from CF2) in this style with the combinated moves of him and Frosty from that game, not a bad idea I guess :P

Tiny with a mix of his own moves and Butch's moves would be cool to see. then again having Butch as an alternate mode would be a good idea too and something to build on when it comes to the other evil clones being alternate modes for the rest of the CF2 cast.

I agree, but by now I prefer the former version, a mix of moves to make a more complete character. And for the ones who were already in 63 1/3, to make the clones, in this case make Ice and Slyck with 63 1/3 gameplay would be great ;)

Well, to remember what I've to do, this is the list to do for the updates for Jim and BSG:

Both chars:
-Damper damage in attacks, especially in the combo system
Earthworm Jim:
-See the bug on Cow From Sky (with chars that haven't the 7689 anim)
-Maybe try to add the Squeeze Claytality
Blue Suede Goo:
-Avoid the infinites, see if I should add more sprites to moves or make a higher velocity on the hitdef
-Also see what happens with those "unguardable" kicks he has, that's strange, maybe it has to do with the above

Hi guys, I was seeing who would be the next 63 1/3 character to make. first i was seeing how to make Boogerman and Bad Mr. Frosty experimenting with sprites, then I thought it could be a good idea to adapt some already made CF chars to this system (like Lord Sinistro's Helga), then I tried Metasponge64's Ice and what I found was a deep deception, he and Frosty they're crap chars (KFM spriteswaps with few sounds from CF2 and bad ripped sprites). I got angry with this "adaptation", so... then an idea was born and I think it goes too far until now.

tl;dr... could be this maybe my next project??

Well, I was experimenting with Boogerman to bring you for MUGEN, but I was in a disjuntive about which kind of sprite should I use for him. So, I made a poll so you can help me here. These are the options:

Option 1: Untouched sprites (directly ripped from spritesheet) with MUGEN 1.2X scale
This was unthinkable for me, but after seeing how good it looks Ice with this method, I prefer to ask you better, maybe could be faster than make edition of the sprites IMO. Also, this was the way other 63 1/3 chars has been made for MUGEN (like Some Guy's Kung Pow, DrKelexo's Jim, Xandegraf's "chars" (of doubtful quality) , etc)

Option 2: Edited sprites (manual resize and retouch with image editors) as I did with Jim
The classic way and the one used to get all the sprites Jim needed for a more complete version, it's a simple edition of resize sheet sprites (200% then 63%) + retouch with bright/contrast (this can be ditched since these sprites looks brighter than Jim's) + manual cleaning of pixels and a palette.

Edited sprite (sizable for normal MUGEN chars) vs. ripped sprite (smaller than the media but sharper)

Hi guys, I wanted to say that Blue Suede Goo and Earthworm Jim has been updated today!! (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/bkuns-63-13-comeback-blue-suede-goo-released-earthworm-jim-updated-update-186090.0.html) Thanks to all who gave me feedback in the thread, the most important updates are the damage has been dampered so now both chars don't take a lot of life as before, and also i made a special CMD for MUGEN1.0+

And... I put Ice as official WIP in my website (http://network.mugenguild.com/basara/wip2.htm), with shots and everything. And about him, now he has all basics, so now I can start with his punches and kicks and specials of course. I hope to get you new screenshots during these weeks (or if I can get the time, maybe finish him before march ends, that would be great)

Well, it seems the option 2 is winning until now, but I said 20 days, and maybe the votation can change...

However, I've been advancing on Ice, he has all punches and kick and now he has his CF2 voice thanks to @N.: so now it doesn't sound like Blue Suede Goo XD
I got some of his specials coded and ready to kick ass, as well his common 63 1/3 moves (Overhead Attack, Launcher and Combo Opener). So, this is the moveset he'll have for MUGEN:
* = coded and ready
+ = borrowed from C2 Frosty (Ice also has Snowball but with HCB command, the charge command is from Frosty)

I'm thinking in the supers he'll have, I got some ideas, but that will be seen soon, as well the Claytalities and the combo system. Also, I'll need help with sprites, you can read the details in this thread (http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/sprites-clayfighter-2-186237.0.html) ;)

First of all, his first move coded, Blizzard, which is throwing a snowball as projectile instead the kick uppercut Frosty made in 63 1/3 of the same name

Here's his anti-air move until now, Rising Ice, taking directly from C2 Frosty and using it in this screenshot to smash Xandegraf's Frosty (uuuggh, those sprites, my god)

Also borrowed from Frosty, here's one of the 3 supers I'm making for him: Ice Breath. For Frosty, this is his projectile move instead of Ice's Blizzard, but in this case was made as a hyper move with a bigger ball that makes more damage, of course

And this is the second super I made for him: Sneaky Combo. The Sneaky Punch move is about running to the enemy and give him a punch when he's close. Here's more than one (like 5 of them) and all with a nice afterimage for him. Looks great in game, if you ask me :)

Only need the Snowball sprites to make the other moves for him (the normal one, the diagonal one (Stay Cool) and the super one) and we're ready with his moves. Also he has the Launcher, Overhead Attack, Combo Breaker (Rising Ice) and Combo Starter (a dashing kick) moves ready, not in the pics... and also I'm trying to make his first Claytality, it's something difficult, but I'm trying to make it right now. Also seeing how will be his moves for the combo system, Insane Combos included, but I think I won't release him during march as I thought, probably in april, I hope so...

I'm still working in the combo system (for some reason doesn't recognizes it on Ice) and his first claytality, I hope to get at least the Snowball sprites to finish his specials and supers and so finish him once for all

I got news: I finally I can get Snowball sprites (in the end I've to rip them myself, luckily my emulator worked), so now has all his specials and supers (the 2 versions of Snowball and the super version). Now I'm working in the Combo System (I can't make to work the finishers yet, I don't know why) and adding all the sparks and messages, and finally make the claytalities. If I get some luck, maybe I can finish him during this week, if not then for april :P

And well, left 2 days for the end of the poll, but since in 2 days won't change the votation, the ed sprites won over the scaled ones. So, let's start to make the edited ones for Frosty and Boogerman then!! Probaly in the next wmonth you'll have news for both ;)

Also, more news: ICE'S CLAYTALITIES ARE READY!! (well, one of them, the other has the too-much-time bug but I'm still working on it), he now has all the sparks from 63 1/3 added and finally I can make work the combo system. Now starting to see the Insane Combos and I'll be ready to release Ice!! As I said to you before, I can't reach it this week, so the release will be in april for sure ;)

Well, still stuck with one of the Claytalities that has the same problem I had before: the claytality is done and appears the phrase an applause, but continues for a while until the "Claytality!" message and appaluses appear again. Damn, I can't find the mistake here and I'm pretty sure I solved that in Jim and BSG by mistake too :???:

However, the combo system works great now, so I'm gonna work on the Insane Combos first and after that I'll try to solve the claytality problem again..., wait some news during the next week ;) this weekend I'll be busy with my real life so I don't think I can finish Ice this week at least.

Aaaannd, I'm going to start Boogerman and Bad Mr. Frosty with the sprite modification, also you'll know about that during april ;) thanks to all who voted in the poll BTW

In some point yesterday, I was thinking in make a quick update to him and add a Claytality (something like Jim's Cow From Sky but with a trash can instead of a cow), but I decided not to do it... maybe I add it later, who knows XD

  • I found Jeffry's High Five character which only have the sprites and nothing else based on Sculptor's Cut, maybe I can take the SFF and convert it into a real High Five char for MUGEN, not a bad idea :thinking:
  • Same for Lord Sinistro's Helga, instead of edit the character (which is already good), I can take the SFF and AIR and convert her into 63 1/3 style
  • Maybe look up for more CF1-2 chars to be converted as Tiny and Octohead and start them from scratch
  • What about a "Kung Fu Man 63 1/3" in a future?? :P I always want to remake him in some way, maybe this could be my chance, I don't know XD
  • And about edit a character, maybe take Some Guy's Kung Pow and add him the combo system and claytalities... for here or to go? XD

That would be interesting to see a Clayfighter style KFM.

High Five should be interesting, though I would imagine you'd have to come up with Claytalities for him since he had none (he was one of the incomplete characters in the game).

I did see some other Clayfighters floating around the net including Bonker, Nanaman, Kangoo, Goo Goo, Dr.Kiln, Houngan, and Sumo Santa. though the sprites aren't too good on Santa, Houngan, and Kiln. Tiny and Octohead would be cool to see in 63 1/3 style

Sorry, I still don't understand you. Did you mean if I made or should I make animal characters for MUGEN?? If that's so, the closest I've made has been the TMNT (in 8-bit) and Ranma 1/2's Genma Saotome in his panda form, not sure if these count anyway :P (or CF's Lockjaw Pooch, if I decide to do it)

i think probably I should make all the moves not present in Sculptor's Cut from scratch as Blue Suede Goo and Ice, especially because apart of having few moves and no claytalities, in Sculptor's Cut was ditched the combo system seen in 63 1/3, so I've to invent them as the others chars I made (and I want to make) that didn't appear in 63 1/3, which isn't a bad idea :P and as claytalities I've thinking in High Five squishing the enemy by "hit the ground with his fist", as well squeezing the enemy as he/she was a ball of clay :P

Another thing I was thinking is about experiment more with Jim to make the other common claytalities from the game (cutted in half and squeeze), which they're the only 2 left on the worm and also appear in other characters from the game (as well remake all the ugly sprites once for all for Jim). I hope to get you more news during these weeks about these stuff (as well about Boogerman and Frosty, of course)

The third bar is a stun bar, just like in Street Fighter III, when the bar is full (or empty, I don't remember now), the character goes dizzy and open to attacks. I know that can be recreated in MUGEN, but that should be as a helper in every character instead of being part of a lifebars (except when it's a closed fullgame)

Well, making this "project" i know now why ClayFighter was so underdog in MUGEN: almost all adaptations are bad (or straightly shit) with some few exceptions (like various of Shadowtak and Lord Sinistro chars), and recently the 63 1/3 chars made by Some Guy, DrKelexo and me. I think it's time to fix that since now ;)

First advance of my Bad Mr. Frosty!!
I was about to post just a sprite of the stance, but since the method resulted better (and quicker) than I expected, I made the whole stance sprites and anim. I'm pretty sure the sprite no.1 is from the turn, but it look so fluid as that, so I don't have complains about it.
BTW, the sprites are in 256 colors in 8-bit, so they're usable for MUGEN (I already started the SFF but i didn't get you a in-game shot now), maybe I update this with a screenshot later ;)

Yeah, totally. I hope to make the same in gameplay (apart of the sprites, his Frosty plays like shit).
And about Frosty, I'm focusing only on converting sprites to the size, I just made some for the SFF like the stand and one pose (which doubles as winpose and taunt). Also, I tried to make palettes and it worked!! I made the 2P one (green hat) and the portrait one (purple hat), I'll keep experimenting with palettes on him...

I tried to manage that SFF and I could make the next: stance, walk (forward and back), run, jump, some poses (the taunt and one winpose) and hitstates (5000s to 5020s), there's a lot to do, but at least the former Dr. Kiln's hand can move. I also made some of his moves in AIR but I didn't code them yet (Hand Spin and Peace Out!), I prefer to focus in his basics first. And I managed how to make his palettes, which became even more monstruous than High Five himself :gouki: now I've to see how to play with High Five in my PC (it's close to die, I can't use N64 emulator anymore) since I based all my research in YT videos, let's see if I can fix that...

Well, it's official: I'll be making High Five in parallel to Frosty, so I'll add him to my WIP list in my website during this weekend ;)
Aaaand... there's another parallel project, but you'll see in my Normal WIP thread soon...

Thanks ;) until now, both have complete movement ready (but High Five that lacks crouching anim, I'm still figuring which sprites are for that) and a taunt. Now seeing their normal punches and kicks as well the voices, for Frosty I took Xandegraf's SND voices (which are incomplete) and I got nothing for High Five, so I'll need to rip them

I hope the next video of them would be properly fighting between each other ;)

Thanks guys :D I was seeing the sprites of CF1 Tiny are so horrible, so I saw to CF2 sprites instead and they look better. The bad news is there's no rips of CF2 Tiny so I got to do it myself, the good news is I finally can make my SNES emu works (SNES9x now works in my PC) so I'll be making the sprites during these weeks. Basically it's the same method I did with Ice: his actual sprites are in 1.2X via MUGEn scale, and they look good as you could see

I got you an update: one of MFFA guys, Jewel men10, ripped CF2 Tiny complete (https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/clayfighter2/sheet/117039/), so now I can start him properly instead of getting the tedious work of ripping him by myself :D

Oh, and I accept voice ripping from the games, mostly High Five and Tiny voices, I got some from Frosty, but I've to rip a few more by myself :P

Hi guys, sorry for the time passed, but I've been with a new job and reorganizing my life again (long story), but I retake this project just to telling this:

Tiny now has all his basics (except the 5000s) and can move now in screen. Also, I got his voice thanks to N., so he can talk now :P As Ice, he will have a mixture of his own arsenal as well from his evil twin Butch, so expect ssurprises here. Also, I'll modify his states to make him heavier than my other CF chars. That's all by now, I hope to get you screenshots of him tonight... and maybe even a video, who knows ;)

Ok, more news for Tiny:
  • All basics punches and kicks are ready
  • In general all basics are ready, including poses, only left to make the 5000s and he will be 100% playable
  • Seeing his moves in both games (CF1 and CF2), I think I'll make his CF2 moveset with some additions from CF1 like some command moves and ideas for supers... and some modifications to be compatible with 63 1/3 system (Dashing Punch wouldn't knocks enemy off to be his Combo Opener, for example)
  • Starting to add Tiny's voice to the SND, so in the preview video, he will talk as himself instead having the voice of another CF I made
  • Seeing his moves are completely different from Tiny (different as I expected) and having a good arsenal, I guess Butch deserves to be a separate character, he will be made after I finish Tiny :biker:
  • Also, seeing it's easier to rip and add his sprites to SFF, probably Tiny will be my next CF release. Frosty and High Five are also considered, but they will be released probably after Tiny
Well, now I got more time than months ago, so I can keep working on my CF chars, so expect something during these next months ;)

ah sweet! Can't wait to see Tiny in action and now Butch is coming soon too! Now that's awesome.

Finally I can use my quarentine time to make MUGEN... and so, I decided to continue Tiny as what was left months ago. I just made his throws and then go to the next character, but I was so excited of the result that I made all his special moves too. Now he's accurate to the first 2 ClayFighter games, time to continue with the supers, Combo System, Insane Combos and Claytalities. At this rate, it's probable I'd finish and release him during this month or in June (which it's more probable in June, totally, I guess so).

Also I made a poll in case you want me to do that thing later XDDDD I've to work on the 3 CF from last games, I know (Frosty, Boogerman and High Five), but that will be made too, so don't worry ;)

About my advances: I've playing CF2 recently (not in my console sadly, for emulators only) and I got many ideas for Tiny's new moves as well seeing Butch's, luckily I've to rip a few sprites from his exclusive moves. After those 2, I'll get back to remake Frosty sprites and a good (or at least decent) version of him for MUGEN (owww, I got cringe everytime I saw something from Xandegraf, iuuughh)

I know and I'm sorry :( but after the great deception it was his Bad Mr. Frosty for me (one of my favourite characters from 63 1/3 and the series) I got him banned from my MUGEN... but the good thing is his Frosty makes me work in my own version :P

I wanted to make a video of Tiny's gameplay, but for some reason Bandicam isn't working so well recently (I can record the fights in MUGEN but it can't render well the videos and become unwatcheable, dunno why), but when I got a decent video I'll upload it soon, I promise :)

OK guys, time to clay news:

Tiny:
He's almost complete, all Insane Combos has been made and are ready to use :purerox: now seeing his Claytalities (launch from MUGEN and Squish), I got the same problems I had with my other CF chars, it's something complicated but I'm working on it. Probably this week Tiny get a release, YEAH!!
Oh, and now with the AIR almost complete, I can start with Butch as a separate character (even I made an intro between Tiny and Butch XD), but Tiny is the priority now

New Claytalities:

I'm experimenting with Jim once more to bring you the other 2 claytalities from the game: Knock Off Top Half (or Cut in Half) and Squeeze Claytality. I'm working mostly with the former and trying to make it a common state where you just add the anims in your character to being compatible. I'm using 5350s for the process: 5350 for the lower half in the ground, 5351 with the flying torso (in 63 1/3 it spins in 360°) and 5352 for the torso on the ground. Also thinking in 5353 for the lower body flying too (and 5354 for the part in the ground), this for another project (and actually downloadable beta) I got since years ago: Bishamon.
About the latter, I was thinking to use the Bloated Up anim (7780), (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/optional-animation-standards-138791.0.html) used by Darkstalkers' Jedah (http://shakesdream.web.fc2.com/SpecialStatus_009_sanguepassare.html) to inflate a part of enemy's body. With that in mind, I could make the Squeeze Claytality using part of this anim. I got an idea about how to code this, but working in Tiny's claytalities got my head busy right now, but I'll keep working on Jim. If this would work, a big update will be coming with Jim and the other guys (Blue Suede Goo, Ice and Tiny) will receive new claytalities. Wish me luck with that ;)

63 1/3 and Sculptor's Cut chars:
Joey Faust's CF chars (https://teamfaustgames.wixsite.com/team-faust-games/mugen-chars) reinspired me again to continue with them, and even he ripped character voices from both games, that makes me happy :D I already used some of them, EWJ voices (the gethit ones, which had hitsounds with them, these ones are clean voices, yay!!) and High Five voices (already added to the SND), so after finishing Tiny I'll retake some of these projects ;)

If someone can help me, just delete the null sctrl in CMD in the Claytalities part and see them by yourself (except in Squeeze Claytality, I didn't do anything yet). And since I'm experimenting with him with the other claytalities, I hope to get Frosty released with all his Claytalities and all he has in 63 1/3 with some spots from Sculptor's Cut (like the extra voices)

Jim (as well Tiny and Butch) are compatible with the state 7780 (Jedah's Sangue=Passare), which means one thing... SQUEEZE CLAYTALITY!!

All basic moves for Frosty are ready!! All his basic punches and kicks are done and he's 100% playable, now making the sprites for his special moves and then I can start in his supers and the combo system.

Also thinking to make an arrange version of him in a future with his moves from C1/C2 with new palettes, wouldn't be a bad idea at all :P

Finally, the first Frosty preview for MUGEN. As you see, he only have the basic moves, his 2 taunts, punches and kicks and the Launcher, as well his intros and wins. Sorry for the late and the months of not being connected here (nor any MUGEN forums BTW), but I changed my hobies for the PlayStation 4 I bought in october ;D but well, Frosty is ready now... or almost, I'd to rip the "ice tongue attack" from his Insane Combos, I checked it out and all of them had this, so I decided to not include them in this version, I hope to rip it to update Frosty soon... as well maybe make an "Extreme" edit with his exclusive attacks from ClayFighter Extreme beta, that will be seen ;)

Also, since I needed most "sprites" from Mr.C rips, I was working on Boogerman too, making a good base to start the mass production of sprites, seeing if that works. Also, I got Scupture's Cut in my N64 (thx Aliexpress for the pirate cartridge :hyo:) so I'll check how it plays High Five to begin with it soon as well...

And... maybe a new CF1/CF2 char could get the 63 1/3 treatment, maybe I should make a poll later about it, stay tuned ;) and I want to edit some other 63 1/3 char to get an update in my style, I'm seeing into Joey Faust chars or Some Guy's Kung Pow, maybe that would be seen later...

In other news, I'm reworking on my CF chars to make them all the Claytalities, so I get back with the Squeeze Claytalities and later with the Cut-in-half ones, I've using Jim as my guinea pig for these claytalities, so if they work, then would be a major update for my CF chars to include them, i hope to achieve that soon...

Oh damn both Nanaman and Octohead look cool and I do like that idea though I wonder if you'll combine the elements of Dr. Peelgood's projectile with Nanaman's (Peelgood's projectile triggers the cut in half animation from what I remember). As for Octohead he should be cool with a mix of his and Jack's moves, I remember Shadowtak's Octohead also had that mix as well as a Jack mode where Octohead has Jack's stance and color pallette.

Lockjaw Pooch should be awesome in your style though I wonder how you'll pull the combo system for Lockjaw since he never had that in Sculptor's Cut (then again same could be said of Lady Liberty, the Zappa Boys, and High Five)

I do agree, giving nana man and octohead the evil clone moves since it gives them more then one and they over comed their evil clones, well execpt ice and butch though, it might easilly explained like ice was not properly defeated and butch has not turned up to the tournament

That's the idea, guys, give Octo and Nana more weapons to fight into MUGEN, that's why I'll give them both their evil clones' moves. In the case of Peelgood's projectile, I noticed that it can cut in half the enemy, maybe I can make it as a super move or even a claytality, who knows :P

About Lockjaw, the plan is to edit directly the char instead of just using the SFF and SND as I do normally. And about the combo system, it's the same plan I got with High Five (and even HoboCop), make it from scratch as he appeared in 63 1/3 and invent new stuff for him. But he won't be official yet, I've to test him and see if my plan works or just do it from scratch with Jim as base, that will be seen...

- I'm still stuck in WinM and barely touch M1.0, so no talking about IKEMEN, you know XD
- CF series doesn't have stage claytalities, the closest to that is the stage change where you can throw your opponents in certain points to pass into another stage, something like Dead or Alive series or some Mortal Kombat games

However, I would like to make something like that, but I don't think I could apply it in some way... maybe in a fullgame could be done, I don't know...

This was unexpected, but the process of extracting sprites of Xandegraf's SFF to make my own SFF was faster than I thought... so now Lockjaw Pooch is 100%playable, with all his basic states plus punches and kicks, and even with the Launcher move added. However, Octo has the same state than the dawg and Nanaman is in process to add his punches and kicks yet.

The only good thing of getting my internet cutted for a week is that I could advance a lot in these 3 :mlol: so yeah, Lockjaw Pooch is on the line with Octohead and Nanaman, let's start soon with their moves to be accurate to their games and later to add the 63 1/3 stuff (Lockjaw included, since Sculptor's Cut removed most of 63 1/3 stuff like combo system), at this rate probably at the end of August I could deliver at least one of these three guys, wish me luck ;)

So what claytalities did you have for octohead? and also its fine since butch and tiny has a unique arsenal while slick,sarge and ice's non-clones are in the next sequel which would make sense if we ever get a sarge and slick character in the future.

i think that would lock out octohead to a smaller move set. its best to combine all the moveset.

I was thinking in that too, but it's not worth it. Octo's moves are already enough to make him without Jack's moves (which are deficient IMO). Maybe in one of these I could edit Octo to make Jack as a separate character, but not for now... but at least Octo will have a palette of his clone as with the other CF2 chars as the palette 12 (Ice, Tiny and Butch)

In other news, Nanaman now has all his punches and kicks, so now the 3 are ready to start with their special moves and supers to make them accurate to their sources, and after that I'll start to create their combo system, let's see what happens...

The Knock Off Top Half (aka Cut-in-half) claytalities are a reality now!! I've been working on this since I managed to make claytalities in MUGEN and today I achieved it with Jim. So an upcoming update for the worm and various of my CF chars are coming very soon :D

The Knock Off Top Half (aka Cut-in-half) claytalities are a reality now!! I've been working on this since I managed to make claytalities in MUGEN and today I achieved it with Jim. So an upcoming update for the worm and various of my CF chars are coming very soon :D

Nice since, I first knew about it due to blue squade goo having mentioned a cut in half claytality so I waited and waited and now the dream is here since, I think this would be the move if he was ever in the third game.

Indeed, BSG is the only char that can cut in half in CF1 along with Blob's Buzzsaw, so yeah, he'll have a claytality cutting his enemy with his hair, I got it planned for him since the beginning ;)

I think the only major category left is the one that involve the "stretching" sprites (IE: Jim's Claytality where he lassos the opponent and squeezes their head). Closest to this in MUGEN is the Sangue Passure but of course not every character has that.

Indeed I used Sangue Passare state (7780) for the Squeeze claytality, but only Jim has it implemented, the other ones I'd to search how to make their sprites or modify them since before 63 1/3 only has cut-in-half and squish sprites. I already did it with Octo, since some hitsprites have him with his eyes popped up, so I reuse them for the 7780 state, for the others I just stretch the sprites of the enemy via code (as I did with squish in claytalities)

And about normal chars who doesn't have required sprites, usually the Knock Off Top Half is a punch or kick that cuts you, for normal ones, it changes the cut to Launch from MUGEN, so if the char doesn't have the anim, will fly to the infinite and beyond ;)

The KOTH claytality is finally done and all my other CF chars have the anims to be compatible with these claytalities (KOTH and Squeeze), however the latter needs to be fixed eventually, so any help is welcome ;)

OK, time to go back with Octohead and Nanaman, the former got more advanced until now (he has his new supers added), now starting with Nana to think which will be his supers, hmmm....

On an unrelated note the Kung Fu Man idea you had (converting non-CF characters to this style) would be a cool one. If you were to do a full-game some 'bonus' characters from other Claymation series/games would be neat. (Like Klaymen from the Neverhood, maybe even ask permission from Mulambo to use his sprites and to do Pingu or something?)

For Nanaman, most of what I can think of is just stuff already done with Ironcommando's old Dancing Banana. Other than obvious "create stronger versions of the specials like the 'FOOT IN THE AIR MAN'" stuff.

I didn't think about those bonus chars apart of KFM, sounds like a good idea, mostly for Pingu (even when his sprites were redrawn by Mulambo and would clash with the CF chars), in the case of Klaymen I made some ideas about that (https://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.2434210) but nothing concrete to make him a char as I wish, even if it's not in 63 1/3 style...

After working on Jim (yeah, I'm not done with that, there're some work to do), I say Octo is the most advanced of the 3 new CF chars, but I'm not sure if I'd finish in August, I would like it but I see it unlikely. However, he has his 2 supers done and now I'm adding CF sparks and FX, as well managing the CNS to adjust him, so I'm not sure if will bedone in time, but he'll be probably my next release for sure ;)

More news about Octohead!! :D
Even when I don't have new shots for you, I can say that the combo system is ready, the only things to do now are the Insane Combos and the Claytalities, which like the half are almost ready (but untested) which are the Launch from MUGEN and the Knock Off Top Half, the anims and the code are there, but I didn't paste them yet ;P

Well, Octohead will be ready sooner than I thought, I still have some work with Nanaman (thinking in his supers and claytalities) and Lockjaw Pooch (I didn't start with his special moves and stuff, sorry). Not to mention I've to make a massive update to my CF chars with the new claytalities and Frosty specifically with their Insane Combos (seeing how to rip that tongue attack)

Octohead is in process of his Insane Combos and it's ready, if the time allows me, I could release him this week or at least before September ends. Nanaman has less advance, but now has all FX (in process to align them) and supers (2 super versions of his 2 moves plus the one on the video) and starting with his claytalities. I expected to release them both, but Nana will be delayed until October, as well Lockjaw who I did nothing more yet XD

EDIT: Since the idea of a CF fullgame by me is becoming higher to be possible, maybe I revive this thread (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/bkuns-lifebars-wip-thread-138707.0.html) with my advances on my 63 1/3 lifebars, if I rework on them, of course...

Not an advance, but... I made a thread with my possible fullgame (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/bkuns-clayfighter-fullgame-just-ideas-now-194433.0.html) (in Idea Engineering, obviously) to talk and discuss about this, since the idea had been growing in me since a time ago, so I made a thread about it. What I posted there is what I planned barely until now, so if you support the idea or want to talk about that you're welcome to post there ;)

By my side, I'm excited to get back to work on lifebars, I hope this time I would make it for real and give MUGEN the claylifebars they deserve ;) and who knows, maybe also make CF2 lifebars or from the first game, or even the Sculptor's Cut ones :P

OK, about advances, I got 2 of the 6 Insane Combos ready, working on the other 2 and Octohead will be ready for a release ;) after that, to finish Nanaman and add more claytalities to my other chars (except Jim, who has them all from 63 1/3)

About Ickybod Clay, I'm going to pause him since the edit isn't going anywhere, the vars in the char are clashing with mine, so I'm going to make a plan B with him and probably the same formula would be applied to other Joey Faust chars if this works

I was preparing this since 19th and I made like the 90% done for the X-Mas Eve, and with him the process to pass some of Joey Faust into my 63 1/3 style is done with success. Eventually SS will be updated with all the stuff I couldn't do for time issues (linkers and finishers, Insane Combos, his other 2 claytalities, more palettes) as well a special intro against Bad Mr. Frosty (who's another one that needs to be updated), I hope to make them the SFA2-like double intro like in Sculptor's Cut (https://youtu.be/cpoNtzmGUcg?t=890) and I'll try to do these stuff during the last days of 2021, if not during january next year ;)

oh yeah, Lady Liberty and the Zappa Yao Yao Boys did feel more complete than High Five was, and in a way Lockjaw too even though Lockjaw had claytalities as did Lady Liberty and the Zappa Boys

I was thinking on that, but again, there's no accurate version of High Five out there and I don't think other people would play Sculptor's Cut to test how the original one is. However...

Since the poll was sweeped by option 4, I decided to retake them and I'm working on High Five right now, after playing with him in SC now I got all the accurate basics from the game (I discovered he only has 2 basic crouching attacks and the rest are the same standing attacks) and the voices, now making the special moves and after that adding the FX. I hope to get it back with Lockjaw too, I think I can finish those 2 during these months to get more 63 1/3 and SC chars instead just making just C1/C2 chars into 63 1/3 style ;)

But as I said before, to get more importance the Arrange ver. I want to make, the Original ver. was necessary to be done. I hope to get you more news about these 2 during these weeks ;)

About Lockjaw Pooch and Boogerman, the former has all basics, punches and kicks, so now I'm adding his sprites for specials and supers, then see the 63 1/3 combo system and claytalities. About the latter, I'm still looking how to convert his sprites into a mass-production as I did with Frosty so I can't show you nothing concrete about the booger-eater yet, so I apologize for that :'(

Also, I was thinking in a massive little update, mostly adding the Knock Off Top Half claytalities to all the chars I got planned to be added, but I'm not sure if I did it before, I'll check it out ;) if not, expect a massive update soon, as well a second part of my Claytality showdown on YouTube during this month with the new claytalities I made for old chars and the new chars (Octohead, Nanaman and Sumo Santa appeared after the video, so they will be included in the next one)

And seriously, I got in plans to make Lucy the Gorilla for this year's AF but I couldn't do it in time (I didn't even rip the "sprites" as HoboCop XD), maybe next time :P

OK, starting to update my CF chars to add this claytality, as well the Squeeze, but giving priority to the former. These are the chars that will have this:
-Blue Suede Goo
-Bad Mr. Frosty
-Ice
-Tiny or Butch (just one of them, seeing which one)
Of my actual WIPs, Lockjaw Pooch has one, and High Five will have it too. Also seeing if I can adapt Shadowtak's Helga into my standards (just like Joey Faust's Sumo Santa, just using the SFF and some codes)

And also I was thinking on this too much, so I made a poll for you. Yeah, I want to beta release the 63 1/3 lifebars I made to get some feedback and mostly some help to finish them, since I'm stuck and don't know how to continue... or how to pass them to 1.0 to start. So, I hope you can help me with this, not just voting, but with real help :)

Yeah, Kung Fu Man 63 1/3 is a reality now :kugoi: I just tested how could this be and in an afternoon I got him all basics, all punches and kicks (various modified to make him 6 buttons now) and only with the Launcher move. Now I'm making his specials, some will be modified to adapt 63 1/3 system (like Kung Fu Zankuu being the Combo Opener), but I'll try to get him the more ClayFighter I can but keeping the original KFM esence on him...

And since I'm going so fast with him, probably would be my next release, who knows :P maybe I've to pick up Lockjaw Pooch too and make them together to make a double release ;P

OK, all his moves and supers were added, and has 1 of the 2 claytalities ready, now making the combo system. No shots yet, I probably will make a video of him making a fight and finishing with a claytality... and probably I release him this month :kugoi:

I'm not saying you can choose for some of them in a poll, since probably I'll be working on all of them or at least in 2 at the same time, so probably this thread goes to a hiatus for a couple of month until I get you some concrete to show, so stay tuned to my normal WIPs and my fullgame threads by now ;)

Well, those are the surprise :gorgeous: meanwhile I was working on the lifebars and the massive update I made, I came to the 2 chicks of the first 2 games, Helga and Kangoo, and I started them, the former using Shadowtak's SFF for the sprites and the latter via spritesheet since she doesn't have much sprites (something similar I did with Octohead and Nanaman), so now both have their basic moves but the 5000s and no punches and kicks, so eventually they will be made just as Lockjaw Pooch and Boogerman, my previous WIPs (but I won't make them official yet, maybe further when I get something more advanced)

About Blob, that's the one by SneezeTHPS (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/cf-63-13-blob-sneezethps-updated-195989.0.html), which fits perfect with my chars with the exception of the (brutal) AI he has made by Lillie's 音MADs that destroys every opponent in seconds. And yes, the chars of the back will be part of my fullgame, but when they appear in MUGEN by me, who knows :P

Until now I've planned only Kangoo moves, I've to play with Thunder to see if I add some of her moves to Kangoo's movelist (since in the case of Octohead and Nanaman I didn't add their clones' moves since they were useless for them). I'll be posting some advances for Kangoo and Helga (and maybe also Lockjaw Pooch) during these days, so stay tuned ;)

I checked it out Thunder in CF2 and I found a couple of moves I'll add to Kangoo:
-Dashing Uppercut (as the super version of Dashing Punch, think about SF Boxer for both moves)
-Dashing Kick as her Combo Opener instead of a special move
-And Double Kick as a new special for her
Apart of those moves (and a couple more I won't use) and the main palette, there's not much diference between Thunder and Kangoo, so these will be the additions to her moveset, thanks for the idea ;)

About Helga, I'll check it out her other versions for MUGEN (Shadowtak's and Xanegraf's) to get an idea for her supers and other moves I could use (like Combo Opener or for claytalities)

Finally I came back to work on Lockjaw Pooch, I made his 3 first moves: Doggie Copter, Collar Throw and Overhead Attack (no photo since the move is easier to do) as well his first palettes, I only kept the p2 from Xandegraf (which is the one from SC) and the rest are original (like the first pic), I played a lot with hue, contrats and bright last night ;D

It left a couple of moves to do, then moved in to the supers and later the claytalities... to in the end make his combo system (inexistent in SC) which will be the fun part since I'll make it from scratch. And I leave you a little poll: I love Dogie Copter, but I would like to make it an aerial move too... so what do you think?? ::)

Lockjaw Pooch is virtually finished!!
I mean, he's basically done and accurate to Sculptor's Cut (with the exception of one claytality I'm still working on), but I want the dawg has the 63 1/3 treatment, and that means the combo system, which I'm making it now. As it now, he has the Combo Breaker and the Combo Opener, now making the Linkers, Finishers and of course the mighty Insane Combos, which will be 100% original (Sculptor's Cut stripped off the whole combo system)

If I get him in date, probably this weekend will be the release, if not then the next week XD wish me luck!!

Sorry, I couldn't post this before since I wasn't here on weekend, but here is a new advance:

One of the first changes are done: now every move apart of Knuckle Sandwich has variations between buttons, been the strong one the original versions of those moves. Also, not shown here: added strong Knuckle Sandwich as Combo Breaker, added an animation for being squished by Claytalities and added his Overhead Attack. Now starting with his new supers, and the next will be the Combo System and the Claytalities. Oh, and now the hand has new portraits ;D
This will be my last release for this 2022 and maybe the last character to be updated for the Infinite Clayfare Beta 1 release (not sure if I could made in time with Sumo Santa but I'll make my best), I hope to get him ready during this week, or max the next one ;)

The grab all we wanted for High Five is done now (with another one). Now, the 2 throws planned for him are ready as well his Launcher move, now starting with the new supers, it will be 2 of them apart of the super version of Knuckle Sandwich :bison:

Yes, I finally started with Sarge... by now it's just a palette for Lord Sinistro's Hoppy, but I'm gonna use his SFF and AIR to create him as he deserves, the rest will be made by me. And of course going back to work on Boogerman and making more sprites for the SFF
(BTW, the alpha wasn't deleted from the original release and it was "leaked" on MA as an early beta XD maybe that get me more promotion when I finish him, who knows)

And about Kung Pow, I just tested it and it's perfect as he is, only needs to add the combo system, palettes, claytalities and compatibility with claytalities, nothing more. Being an edit, probably comes first than the other 2, you'll know about it ;)

Confirmed: Sarge and Kung Pow are my new 2 WIPs from ClayFighter, along with Boogerman!!
Probably these 2 will come first since both are easier to do, Kung Pow is an edit and Sarge I got the SFF and AIR already from Hoppy. These ones will be announced in my site during these days, I hope to show you more about them during these months ;)

First Boogerman preview (https://streamable.com/7ot79m) the past one doesn't count
Now he has all basics and is 100% playable, now starting with his moves, I got some of them ripped already so now it's time to add them to SFF and make the moves, I hope during April show you more advances of him with moves and stuff ;)

Also is in part the first preview of Sarge, which I've to remake it since before it was just Lord Sinistro & Shadowtak's Hoppy recolored as Sarge, but now I'm remaking the AIR from scratch and just using their Hoppy's SFF only with the palette of Sarge, of course (which also was reworked), so now looks better. He has all basics too but the punches and kicks, included his Claytatity states (squish and cut in half ripped from CF2 and squeeze "sprited" by me)... this would get more time since as all CF2 clones, even the basic punches and kicks are different, so I've to replay with Sarge to get them and make him as accurate as possible

A little advance of Sarge. He also is 100% playable RN but also I just added his 3 specials from CF2, but will be added 2 of Hoppy's moves too (Rabbit Punch and Spinning Carrot) just as I did with Ice that also has some Frosty specials. And I improvised his first super in the pics (a super version of his Flying Kick). Since he has all the sprites ready, the rabbit probably will come sooner than Boogerman, who I'm already making his sprites, so another clone will come to MUGEN, wait for more news about those 2 (or another one maybe) during these weeks ;)

I was thinking in that after making the video... so the N.Boss update will be a thing eventually (apart of the feedback in the thread, of course)

To be honest i don't really like the idea of KFM being in the game, his sprites clash a lot (but you don't need to remove him if you want)

But this CF 63⅓ KFM can be used as a template for making CF 63⅓ characters?
Yeah, the sprites clash with the game, but the gameplay is so smooth and adapts easily to it.

More than KFM, it's Earthworm Jim the real template for 63 1/3 chars since he's the first one. And yes, it works... The Blob in my fullgame is by SneezeTHPS and he used Jim as base, I just adjusted Blob a bit to get it in Infinite Clayfare

  • First of all and by people's choice: N.Boss, fixing various of the stuff you said in feedback (here and in his release thread), reducing the damage of his throw (from 750 to 500 to be a little bit fair)... and of course, more kind of projectiles, I'll add more from CF2 and SC ;)

As a suggestion, add Kung Fu Mans wooden board to the list of projectiles, since he his part of your full game.

That's because 63 1/3 sprites are smaller than the media and instead to make the 1.2X scale on MUGEN I'm resizing manually, but since there're like JPG sprites, the sprites got that effect I couldn't get off, I apologize for that u_u I could delete more pixels to clean it more but he probably would get no feet after that

My dream come true and finally I can eliver the booger eater to MUGEN as I wished since years. Now working again on Taffy... I should said "started" instead but already he got all basics so he stands as a punching bag, so now it's time to put him his basic punches and kicks, as well all the rest.

And... since isn't 100% finished, also will keep working on Boogerman to add the 2 Claytalities (he has 4 of the 6 of the game) and the Insane Combos for a next update, maybe I can coincide it when I finish Taffy, wno knows :P

I'm absolutely lovin' Boogerman so far! But there are a few oddities i think could be patched: 1) Doing Aerial Fart Slide while jumping backwards makes him go in the opposite direction. 2) Super Burp doesn't kill opponents after at low health, and 3) ...How do i do the Claytalities? LMAO.

GOOGOO JOINS THE BATTLE!!
I thought I couldn't do it, but I could rip his sprites quickly so now I could start him and now he has all basics and his first special, Diaper Uppercut (in the pic), so he'll be done along with Taffy to get those 2 ready for an eventual release (not sure if both at the same time) and for the Beta 2. As all my other CF2 chars, he'll have a megamix of his moves and the ones from his evil clone Spike to make him a complete character.

Also, depending of how I've been working on the game, I may reveal the secret characters for DLCs, which now they're 3 and making the final count of 34 characters!! The Beta 2 will have 21-22 characters, so now will be more playable character to use, as well I'm fixing some stuff and adding others (see more details in the game thread (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/clayfighter-infinite-clayfare-now-twitter-194433.80.html))

Still, Im angry at interplay, others are angry at interplay, basakun is angry at interplay and you should be angry at interplay also. So why you going against the centralist route?

I am pretty peeved at Interplay, like I am for any non-profit fan project that gets unfairly shut down by big companies.

But threatening people and acting like that's "being a man" is toxic and just being an asshole lol

As the title (and MCU Thanos) says, "now is no time to mourn", my game (eventually) could be over but my MUGEN work (especially with CF) will continue so don't worry about that. For the same thing, to talk about the C&D, you better go to the other thread instead

So yeah, the link in my last post is an advance of Dr. Kiln, but after posting the video now I could finish his basic punches and kicks, so now he's 100% playable... and also has his combo system ready. I'm just starting with his specials and I hope to get you a new advance soon... as well other surprises ;)

Enough resting from MUGEN and from ClayFighter. HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!!

Remember that idea of making Ryu in 63 1/3 style by using POTS' Ryu as base that I ended to scrap those plans to make N.Boss as the AF char of this year?? Well, I reused the idea in the end, but with SFII Ryu instead since it's less realistic and more "moldable" than the other version. And here it is, the first screenshots of this monstruosity XD

Here I'm using a WinM-old SFII Ryu I found on collections (Fusion Armor X's Ryu (https://www.angelfire.com/mech/ultimatearmorgames/MUGEN.html)) and used their SFF, AIR and part of their codes with the 63 1/3 base to get this version. I made a spoiler video in my Twitter (https://twitter.com/carlos_basara/status/1730946371673309522), but here're the first official screenshots of him. I should update my site with this new WIP, but probably I'd finish him during this week to get you the real surprises for X-Mas: finishing Dr. Kiln and releasing the 2 secret chars for Infinite Clayfare (XxxxXxx and Xxxxxxx), I hope to do it in time ;)

SF2 probably has the right kind of shading to more or less blend in with the clay characters. Might work even better if you bring down the color contrast or saturation.

Yes, it's NECA Ryu, it's the closest for a "clay" version of Ryu I found on the net XD

And seen for the time it left for my birthday X-Mas, only I could finish Ryu and Dr. Kiln for the holidays, the 2 secret chars for Infinite Clayfare will be for 2024... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't show you for that date ;)

Doing it a little more could work even better, at least compared to Santa, Ryu still looks a bit... brighter. Still, it definitely looks like an improvement, and I'm happy to see him in the project and the project itself back up.

Nah, it's fine, 63 1/3 chars in general are darker than the other games, indeed I used other CF chars for the colors of Ryu, included the skin, but POTS makes it better with that, so I adopted the idea, thanks ;)

At last I got all required Ryu sprites (you know, the Claytality ones), so I added the unindexed sprites. So now Ryu has his new big portrait and all FX, now finishing to pass FAX's codes (only left Tatsumaki) and the correct anims for punches and kicks, and then the supers and the rest of the combo system (only has the Combo Breaker by now)... and eventually the Insane Combos and Claytalities, I got 3 for him, you'll see it soon ;)

(BTW, I made the new palettes but I still don't apply to the char, for the next screenshots i hope to get them done)

Nice! I agree a filter would make him fit a little better, but I have another suggestion; perhaps go into ELECTR0’s version of Ryu and add some stuff from that version (he has stuff like new throws added in). Also, older SNK games had a similar art style… could we see a certain boingy ninja who was too big for Smash make it in? One of her team mates, however, would be even more fitting.

Thanks for suggestions, but I need a basic Ryu to work with. But don't worry, he'll have a lot of new stuff and some classics like his supers ;) BTW, I got 2 news for the upcoming releases:

1. ClayFighter Ryu:
His 3 planned claytalities are ready, here's one of them (https://twitter.com/carlos_basara/status/1737711195606397149) :ninja: now working in the rest of his moves (Tatsumaki and his supers) and then the combo system (only has the Combo Breaker... his Shoryuken, of course)

I think the colors on Ryu are still too... bright? I'm not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but the colors in the Clayfighter sprites are more faded, like old pictures, while Ryu looks like he has more color on him than he should, in comparison, especially when side by side with characters like Kung Pow and Sumo Santa, the skin difference is very noticeable. I'm sure that could be changed with palette-changes alone, though.

ClayFighter Ryu has been released (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/clayfighter-ryu-has-been-released-198817.0.html), only left Kiln, which I'm polishing his claytalities, but he's basically ready, so tomorrow you'll get him. Also I prepared a final character trailer for him, won't be more for the next I'll make nor the ones I never did by being unfinished cooperations (Sumo Santa and Blob).

But... that video has a surprise you'll see soon, the 2 secret characters I wanted for Infinite Clayfare that will be made anyway for normal MUGEN will be revealed at the end of that video, so stay tuned ;)

EDIT: Dr. Kiln also was released (https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/dr-kiln-has-been-released-198823.0.html), now the circle is complete

Yep, T-Hoppy will be my next CF project to be made... apart of the update ClayFighter Ryu needs, of course. Just starting with the SFF and AIR, I hope to make more during these months, but as I said before, CF chars won't be a priority as in 2023 (and prior to C&D) but will be done. And of course also I'll be working on the 2 "secret" chars for Infinite Clayfare (that aren't secret anymore and because the game also doesn't exist XD) thay will be made during this 2024 ;)

Well, finally Guild's server is working again to upload stuff, so after getting in my site Dr. Kiln, ClayFighter Ryu and SneezeTHPS' Blob (the original version, not the Infinite Clayfare ver.) as well uploading 3 new stages (including the unreleased Santa's Workshop being only on Beta 2), I updated the WIP page (https://network.mugenguild.com/basara/wip2.htm) with the 3 projects I'll make for 2024: T-Hoppy (in previous post) and those 2:

So yeah, now it's official those 3 are WIPs of mine. Expect to see them during this year ;) and of course, an update for ClayFighter Ryu, which is necessary TBH
