I've been thinking about this:

But then the likely requisite of jumping and a way to switch between standing and crouching gets in the way (didn't stop AoF1 Mr Big, but he wasn't playable, so he could get away with it).

Maybe as a crouching stance, with the low attack being kicks and stuff coming out of the tent to attack, and bringing the victim into the tent for a throw, doing horrible things to him/her which are only implied through randomly played sounds which may include heavy machinery, animal noises, and maybe some sweet doomsday music if it's a super or KOs (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TakeOurWordForIt).

The original concept was closer to something out of Pocket Fighter or Super Cosplay Wars Ultra, but I still have a stage to finish and I'm not sure I could put the discipline into that many and diverse frames...

Hello, I am Banxman3. I PM'd Iced to see if it was appropriate to post my sprite.

I am not really known in the MUGEN world at the moment. I am working on the PDC team at the moment and I am making an original character.

i thought he was holding a sign with his face to cover up his face but then i noticed he was holding a knife (or something) instead and that his face is covered by a mask

needless to say i thought the first idea was far more interesting

Well, so far, I've done:

*A standing animation
*A special attack (REPPUKEN!!1)
*A projectile anim and ending anim
*A palette
*A very, VERY basic CNS

I guess I'm gonna have to advertise the character as either a standalone release or as part of an SSF2TXHD5-ish extension in the future.

Got the idea from 'The Spy' class from Team Fortress 2.

Although the sign idea does sound quite intriguing.

Tried to get FFU to spit out an animated REPPUKEN motion out of my current SFF, but it's still being a dick about it.

EDIT: Added color separated version.

So, bigger head, shorter legs, and an overall larger sprite? Fair enough.

FFU screwed up the timing on both GIFs, but the second one is supposed to be faster.

If that happens, the 1st post of the thread won't be as descriptive of its function. Old thread's locked anyway, so it can't be cluttered anymore - this'll do to move stuff in the new thread if needed though.

(http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz210/captryne/Referee.jpg) Here I am. Thought my first character looked bland and didn't match the style of MS Paint project. This is me when I go to soccer referee games. The pay is good, the job is stressful (fans, players, parents, coaches make the job difficult) but I get a sweet satisfaction from telling 30 year old adults to "get lost" and giving red cards. I also enjoy riding the Golf Cart too.  ;)

No, it still got that retarded pose, why do you insist on using the same pose for ALL your sprites of that character?
His mid is still too linear.
The proportions doesn't match the style.

Shamrock is in the screen. Then walt lands over him after jumping a fence. Think of Akuma and Bison.

...

Almost all of the characters have extremely linear torsos. Also, can you elaborate on what the proportions ought to be?

Finally, the pose is a matter of choice, dammit - I'm not going to give him a Kung Fu pose because you don't like the one I chose.

he means that its literally a line, as in, done by linetool.

Another anim for my character concept.
You should consider finishing your character even outside of the project, the fluidity is nice, even if it uses one shade for shadow on the face that i wouldnt use myself.  Its nice

I like Chronojiuj's idea. Make it the official topic of Vegeta20XX.

Trying to keep the game from having anything making fun of someone as much as possible. =p

Do they have to be completely custom? Or can they be game-based or flash-based or something? Because I've been working on my MsPaint Self, along with Shade and Gold the Hedgehogs, and a few other people. So, any basis on sprite origin?

Well we arent accepting any new chars lately, since we are pretty much overbooked and with bea alone coding things have slowed down a lot, but you are free to do your own sprites and concept and try to code a characters for yourself out of this project ( even if you base yourself on the project's style)

Good luck with that. :)

And I'm having other priorities in my life right now, so Mugen coding is being left cast aside. :(
I'll try to pick up during the next months, but I can't promise anything.
I feel that my time in Mugen might have come to an end.

I'll try to post updates soon.
If I see that I can't continue this, I'll find someone to take over and finish the project.
