people who deserve it and not get confused all the time for one and NOT asking for it. Pretty much if you ask for it you won't get it.

What do you mean by that? How long were you in MFG? A mod usually gets selected for one with 2-4 years of activity, not by requesting so selfish as a "test run".

Except for the request board.Otherwise you might as well give out mod positions to the people that report the most problems.Madam CanCan said, December 14, 2012, 04:41:50 amActively seeking? Iced said, December 14, 2012, 04:52:35 amYou got confused over the term "actively seeking"?Not really that, I just thought that asking about mod positions might count as actively seeking. How he used the term confused me.

For starters, you need a firm comprehension of how the English language works. Study the implications of using a metaphor over a simile, become adept at proper sentence structure, and learn how to tell whether people are using euphemisms or sarcasm.Aside from that, I remember being a mod on Randomselect YEARS ago, and on day one, I accidentally banned a guy I thought was trolling. He wasn't, I had to unban him, and apologize for that, tell him I was new at it, blahblahblah. In the end, moderation was less "I'm a god in this board" and was more "Welp, better move some topics." (Sidenote: I also had to run every decision by Kung_Fu_Man at the time, and while you should be thankful you don't have to deal with THAT guy on this board, it's still not a fun job)The job is less being a politician and more being a janitor. If I still haven't convinced you against it, here's one more argument: you have to avoid the urge to ban the shit out of drewski and Pikachu guy. Posted: December 14, 2012, 05:44:11 amOh didn't see the board this was for. Disregard.

Either I'm too serious or I joke too much. I don't see how I'm using improper sentence structure. If I am using improper sentence structure, please give me a few specific examples or tell me as you see it happen. I've got to improve somehow.Cousin Jango said, December 14, 2012, 05:36:45 amThe job is less being a politician and more being a janitor.Yeah, I heard Jman say something along those lines before.Cousin Jango said, December 14, 2012, 05:36:45 amIf I still haven't convinced you against it, here's one more argument: you have to avoid the urge to ban the shit out of drewski and Pikachu guy. That takes all the fun out of it! cacan might be good enough like cybaster to provide feedback but he seems as clueless as pikachu guy in every single discussion he participates in
Doesn't CAN want to mod request boards though? He should be given a chance. It's just the request section anyways, it's more help from someone willing to take on the job. If he doesn't do it well just remove the spot.
I messed up. Should've been "Mod positions should not be given to those actively seeking them, IMO."I mean, I never wanted this job, and I still don't want it. It sucks!Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyI was tricked into it someone help me I want to be free please help

Wasn't gonna say anything 'cause I didn't want to contradict you, but... yeah, generally people who seek out modship are the ones least suited for the job.
If you´re asking to be a mod, wouldn´t be a good idea to give you mod powers because... is unpolite and won´t end well. Why would u want to be a mod anyways?? THE POWER??
