Mexico now has 164 cases with two confirmed deaths.

And China is not wasting time on sending help to Europe aand Latin America.

And especialy in Italy which now have more than 600 deaths.
Do you have any idea how tragic the situation is?
Everything is closed even after April 3rd and yet a lot of people still go out acting like an idiot, like nothing happened...
It just pisses me off!
All they have to do is STAY at their home including me and my family!
This is fate.

Total number of deaths in France is 264, including 89 just yesterday. 930 sick people are in critical condition right now, so it's about to rise. We've been in full lockdown since last Sunday, so we're hoping it doesn't get as bad as Italy...

i remember an article i read a couple of years ago about sars that could potentially be infectious to humans i think it was in new york times or some other papers. i'll try and search it. it's about a doctor warning other virologist about the dangers of the virus strain if not handled carefully , the research dated back in 01-02 when the first big out break was. probably they cultured it

kinda hard searching for it now. all i remember is that it was a 2015 article about a "new" strain of SARS i don't remember exactly who published it could be new york times or the doctor's name or the group or facility he was warning about but i do remember they were chinese.

Out here is SW Washington, the county I live in (Cowlitz) recently announced their first two COVID-19 cases. Two older men have it... For the most part, it's all about caution here.

I highly doubt that things will return to normal quickly, but it will come back to some sort of normalcy in the future.

some are predicting it'll be 6 months max. before it'll all go back to normal.

taxes are now on halt in my country and water and electric bills could be next if things goes even more south. as good as it sounds a good chunk of the population has no means to get pay checks. especially in entertainment businesses like cinemas , concerts , casinos or even businesses that depends on crowds like malls. food business are still active . fast food are still up , restaurants and bistros are still operating but only take outs.

logistics and delivery services are still up but only in select areas and select companies are still operational. the only good thing from the government is politicians are working without any infighting for once in our history. national , regional and local gov't are listening to each other so that's a fucking plus. crime rate is low.

sugar is a rarity here, at least the common white granuled sugar, I switched to brown sugar for my coffee, but still I was looking for sugar earlier today, found a kilo pack at small minimarket, I bought 1 kilo since other might need them too. on the way out. I saw this young chinese lady, jumped down from the passenger seat of her car driver stayed in the car engine left running, rushed into the minimarket, masked, both hands gloved with small plastic bags, rushing between the racks, ran back to the cashier, ran to her car, took off, all before I even arrive at my car
confirmed case in my town for several days already is 2.

I think she must have binge watching The Walking Dead

Well, an employee at my job has it, been confirmed. Store management pulled us aside yesterday. Supposedly this person has been contained for 4 days as of today; but was at work for 2 days while contagious.

The CDC will be coming in too answer our questions. Not sure if they're closing us or testing us. I'm a little scared. I've got diabetes and heart disease, which I'm told is very dangerous during this time, and they will not allow us too leave work without a doctor's excuse and they don't provide me insurance as a manager until I've done it for 2 years. Which i have 3 months left, haven't managed that long.

I'm a little peeved too, every grocery store gave their employees hazard pay, safety precautions, etc. Our company gave us nothing... Except a 25$ gift card TO THE STORE. And an agreement too file for PTO if we catch the virus..no guarantee though.

Don't be a xenophobic.
I'm fucked, I am a tattoo artist, we shut down the shop, to avoid any risks, but tattoo is my only income, I don't know how I will pay my bills.
I'm trying to get some freelance jobs as an illustrator/Graphic Designer, but didn't have any luck.
Also, the president here in Brazil, still treats this as a joke and don't even care.

I mean, that is still small change compared to over 60% of Europe literally gone in less than a decade, even with comparing hundreds a day being factored in.

Not saying it isn't tragic and alarming, but I do think it's being overblown to the point that it's causing more harm than good at times.

i understand what your point is , and yes media is over blowing it. but people will react to it in very different ways . for us we're lucky that we can spare a few weeks off cause we can afford it but for people who are living for pay check to pay check it's basically a death sentence for them. so i understand why there are people panicking.

probably because they don't have any plan or any utility for such events.

was kinda thinking that my country would be fucked but i am surprised how quickly our government reacted to it. so far there's only

idk if this is accurate but holy shit , USA , italy and china are getting fucked.. i'm surprised how well philippines and india are doing.

No, they're not. Here in France we've been hitting a hundred deaths per day even though we've been in total isolation for a week, and Italy is at over 600 deaths a day. Germany seems to have just started reacting, after a week of every local state saying "I'll decide if I'm in danger at my own pace, thank you very much" which is exactly what a virus like that needs to propagate super fast, so they'll have a pretty bad curve in a couple of weeks too. People in Florida were partying around like they don't give a fuck, that's going to change real fast.
Different countries are at different stages, but this is serious and yes the media everywhere need to take it as seriously as it is, because every hospital is crumbling already. It's not the Black Plague, but we shouldn't need to compare it to that, it's not a hurdle we're supposed to look at and say "see, it's not as bad as that, so it's fine". We should be able to handle it much better than the worst period in the Middle Ages, if we could all just react a lot faster and take it seriously.
And yes, that worldometer site is accurate.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

The media here is serious about that, but our president is an idiot, he said: "It's just a little flu, people are overreacting"
I really don't know what will happen to us, but I know that if we depend on him, only rich brazilians ill be alive at the end of this world crisis

We aren't. That number has already gone up. People are still not taking it seriously and we are now just into our second week from tomorrow. The signs are visible that there's gonna be a massive increase in cases. There are rumors that China still has new cases showing up and most of these figures are fake and highly watered down.

In the case of my country, a lot of this could have been prevented if we had a more competent President for this country. Trump had months of warning in advance of an impeding disease before it ever broke news and he treated the whole notion as light jest. Then, when the problem does make an arrival here, he still is taking this lightly and that's why we have bullshit like panic buyings, riots and xenophobia running amok. I think that is part of the reason why I am angry about this whole thing.

Incompetence of the government and the fear-mongering caused by media misinformation making the problem worse than it already is.

Honestly, Benjamin Franklin must be rolling in his grave with how far the USA's politics have degenerated.
